Both her parents were killed that she had to care for her little sister while training as the Avatar. She, and her sister live with the last Avatar's descendant who is also training Claris.

Backstory: After Amon was revealed to be a Bloodbender, the Equalist movement lost steam, but was far from destroyed. Going under the radar, the less radical Equalists honed their skills of Chi Blocking and defended normal people from benders who go too far, remaining in the shadows. For those who know of this Equalist cell know that a man named Jax Vang is the leader. He's been keeping an eye on the young avatar, wondering what she will turn into.

Backstory: Aerilyn inherited air bending from her father, he trained her almost all her life, and Aerilyn learned his ways. One night, her father went missing while going out. Since then Aerilyn has not seen him, and ended up leaving home and traveling to Ba-Sing-Se by herself.

Appearance:  

Aerilyn greatly resembles her father, she has medium brown hair that is down to her waist. She is rather slim, and has a flexible body. Her eyes are grayish-blue, and she is rather pale. 

She lacks an arrow on her head and legs, however she has them on her hands, arms, and back. However, Aerilyn likes to keep the fact she is an air bender hidden, thus meaning she does not wear the orange-yellow red-orange clothes her tribe wears. She actually wears clothes that look like earth benders, mainly because she is in Ba Sing Se. 

She wears rather short brown shorts, a white tank top (the lightest thing on her, showing she might be an air bender) and also a dark forest green rather long hoodie. She also wears black finger-less gloves to help cover the arrows on her hands.
