Video Gaming: 2 Good News & 1 Very Bad News

Recommended Posts

As the title says, I have 2 good news and 1 bad news related with gaming.

The first good new goes to all MineCraft gamers. It was announced that Mojang (the company that owns minecraft) is working with Warner Bros. making a MineCraft Movie.

The second good new goes to all Halo gamers. This summer at E3, they may or may not release Halo 5.

Now the bad news goes to all Nintendo gamers who own a Wii and/or DS. Nintendo has decided to cut off and discontinue the internet connections for these two consoles this month. This act will effect super smash bros., Mario kart wii and all pokemon games. So enjoy these last few days of playing these games online.

Very bad news? Hardly. Sure it's a shame to some people, but there are better versions of these games on Wii U and 3DS. From what I hear the Wii and DS were pretty laggy online. Online servers for games are always being taken down, it's normal and good. Saves them money.

If you can afford it, sure. Although it is pretty surprising a lot of the servers for so many Wii games lasted as long as they did.

Minecraft movie is good news? Not for me. I like the game but my experience with past movies based on games haven't been very good. I'm hoping it will be a good movie, unlike the Super Mario Bros. movie from 1993 :D

The Wii and DS servers shutdown is in May 20, not this month.

http://www.engadget.com/2014/02/26/nintendo-japan-wii-ds-multiplayer-3ds-video-shutdown/

Anyway, it is just the course of nature, sure the shutdown was fast, but the 3DS have already been out for 3 years, and those who would need to update because they lose online on there favorite game(probably Pokemon), can just get a 2DS(which is quite cheap) and whatever game they want, for less than 200 dollars.

Anyway this supposly is occuring, because the company that provided the services got bought 2 years ago, and now that the contract is probably over, the buyer of the company just ditch Nintendo.

But, either way, I don't know what the big fuzz is about, this is just the cycle of life. You got a Wii or DS some months ago? Well you had around 8 years to get one, it's not Nintendo's fault, that you just got one now, when a the Wii U and 3DS are easily found, and have backwards compability.

well they might announce Halo 5 at E3 this year but it won't be released until next year. Minecraft movie sounds interesting, and Wii and DS thing eh it was bond to happen eventually.  I also knew about all this like earlier this week but still nice to see how other people take it.

I don't really care about the first two. The third one's kind of a shame, but oh well, I'd only need that for past generation Pokemon games anyway, and I can get away without that. :/
