Sora96 17,256 Posted March 2, 2014 The team that made FINAL FANTASY X and FINAL FANTASY X-2 went on to make FINAL FANTASY XIII, FINAL FANTASY XIII-2 and LIGHTNING RETURNS: FINAL FANTASY XIII but what happened to the team that made FINAL FANTASY XII? Tails 6,692 Posted March 2, 2014 Maybe they departed and went their own ways? But why do you want to know what became of them after they made Final Fantasy XII?
Sora96 17,256 Posted March 2, 2014 Maybe they departed and went their own ways? But why do you want to know what became of them after they made Final Fantasy XII? Because I'm interested in Square Enix's various teams and key people.

tothecikpah 230 Posted March 2, 2014 (edited) according to wikipedia, the head of SQEX Division 4 (The head of FFXII team) left due to sickness all I know is today, there's only Osaka and Tokyo team As of May 2005, Product Development Division 10 was headed by Yoshinori Yamagishi.[31] In June 2005, Yusuke Hirata, the former head of Product Development Division 5, left to joinAquaplus.[32] In August 2005, Yasumi Matsuno, the former head of Product Development Division 4, left due to prolonged sickness.[27][33] According to Yoichi Wada, the development department is no longer organized with the Product Development Division System since at least March 2007. The staff is now structured on a project-based system.[34] At present, the teams in charge of the Fabula Nova Crystallis Final Fantasy, Dissidia Final Fantasy and the Kingdom Hearts series are collectively referred to as the 1st Production Department (第1制作部 dai-ichi seisakubu?), however with no 2nd and 3rd Production Departments existing. The current structure of the 1st Production Department is the result of a fall 2010 merger between Square Enix's Tokyo and Osaka development studios. Shinji Hashimoto is its corporate executive.[35] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Square_Enix#Production_teams Edited March 2, 2014 by tothecikpah 1 Sora96 reacted to this
AnHeiressofaSOLDIER 358 Posted March 2, 2014 Yeah, if I recall correctly, the original director of FFXII had to leave halfway through due to health issues. Then another team had to pick up the pieces (which is why Penelo's backstory fell to the wayside, though some of it was inserted into RW). What's happened to them since then, though, I have no idea. Here's hoping some of them are still around working on various things:) Despite the hate it gets, and some of the issues it had, I actually liked XII. I thought it was a good direction for Square to go in, in a lot of ways.

Yeah, I reckon XII is a good game and hope it gets a HD remaster. 1 AnHeiressofaSOLDIER reacted to this

Although I'm guessing the people who worked on the XIII games will work on X-3 or XVI next.
