Tails 6,692 Posted February 23, 2014 I know this might be a bit early to say this but I'm getting a PS2 vibe from the PS4 because of how fast it's selling and all that hype it's gotten as well as the games coming out for it. I mean I have not seen this much hype for a game console since the PS2. Makes me wonder if it will even surpass the PS2 in terms of sales. 3 Sora's Baby, The Transcendent Key and Cucco reacted to this

Sora96 17,256 Posted February 23, 2014 PS4 The story of how Sony got it's Groove back. The PS3 has sold roughly 81.3 million so far. While it's highly unlikely it won't reach 100 million it's still the 4th highest selling console of all time. 1 Sora's Baby reacted to this

Isamu Kuno 2,512 Posted February 23, 2014 (edited) Guess it just shows that Black Friday isn't the decisive battle in the Console Wars because IIRC, Microsoft initially outsold Sony at that time, but once the fog cleared and people began to think again, this happened. But, yes, I was disappointed by the PS3, while the PS4 looks like it may earn it's keep. Literally after the Wii came out I couldn't find one for 2 years. 2 Ace326 and OmegaForte reacted to this

Although it took me 3 months before Brawl's release to find one, but the fact is that the Wii still kept running out of stock for at least 2 years. Asking employees when is it back on stock, finding one right on Brawl's release... Good times. 1 Kodakliv reacted to this

The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted February 23, 2014 The PS4 is the king of consoles in my opinion, so I'm happy it's getting all this hype! Ah yes, I remember the PS2's glorious console run, it had a hell of a lot of games and reputation back in the day. And just you watch, when Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts 3 come out, the PS4 will be on the brink of extinction from so many people buying the system to play the games. Sure, it'll be on the XBox One as well, but hey, most people will buy the Sony version of the games! 1 Sora's Baby reacted to this
MasterRoxas13 340 Posted February 23, 2014 (edited) The PlayStation 4 becoming the next PlayStation 2 is too earlier to say, but if nothing changes ( like the Wii U making a comeback or the Microsoft lowering the price of their system faster then Sony's) then yea Sony will be the console market leader again. The PlayStation 4 will hit at least Wii numbers ( 100.9 million) by 2019 or 2020 in my opinion If the 8th gen is a repeat of the 6th gen, then this will be a great time for gamers ( Kingdom Hearts came out during the 6th gen) But I doubt this gen will be a exact repeat of the 6th gen, Sony does not have anything to entice the non- gamers to buy a PS4, unlike the PS1 or PS2 (The PS1 had CD built into it , no add- ons were needed. The PS2 had DVD built into it and was the first console to have that feature.) So I doubt the PS4 will completely destroy their competition like the PS1 and PS2 did, but who knows. . Nathan Hatton 274 Posted February 23, 2014 Yeah Sony said recently that the PS4 is in low stock pretty much everywhere. It might show up for a couple weeks here and there but not for long. They said they are currently looking at April for them to start matching and passing demand for the system everywhere the system was available (this was before the Japan release, so that could affect demand as well). It's a great system. I'm looking forward to when KH3 comes out because that's when I will buy it. 1 Kodakliv reacted to this
