Firaga 5,947 Posted February 17, 2014 Hello, KH13 anime fans, Firaga Sensei here. You know, I am so glad that Toonami is back on the air nowadays. I get a chance to watch a bunch of cool anime each week, by the bus loads, and in full English dub just with the click of my remote and the recording function of my DVR. lol And if you haven't been paying attention, Toonami has a fantastic line up right now: They got all of the Big Three (One Piece, Bleach, Naruto AND Naruto: Shippuden) as well as other shows like Space Dandy, Soul Eater, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Inyuasha, and starting next week, Blue Exorcist! They also plan to start airing Black Lagoon soon. (lol, rhymes) So, with all these great shows in mind, the schedule sounds pretty satisfying. However, it can always be better. After all, when one show ends, another has to take its place, so its constanly evolving and giving anime new and old a chance to be viewed by the average Toonami and anime fan. And I have three anime, all of which have NEVER appeared on Toonami's line up, that I think have a shot and personally just want to see for lulz on the Toonami block. Here they are in no particular order: (NOTE: These anime have already been either been completed and dubbed in English, or are ongoing and have recieved an English dub for at least a big chunk of the series for far) 1) Toriko: This is a perfect anime to be on Toonami. Like its predecessors DragonBall Z and One Piece, its an action-packed shonen that appeals to all ages and is full of tasty, tasty food and fun. I know I sound like I don't really know what I'm talking about because I'm still not that "indulged" with this series yet... but hey, I'm into it more than anybody else here so f**k it! Anyways, It's just too perfect NOT to be on Toonami. So far, Funimation has licensed the show far enough where they have dubbed and released the first 52 episodes on DVD. The last DVD release was in May 2013. A big gap, I know. Still, there's always time to aquire licensing for the rest of the series as well as strike a deal with Toonami to let it air for the first time on English TV. After all, it'll take a while for the show to catch up to 52 episodes. 2) Samurai Champloo: Not exactly the newest series compared to the last one I listed, but still, since Toonami has been on a Studio Bones kick, what with Soul Eater and FMA and Cowboy Bebop being some of their latest run anime, and especially the newest Bones project, Space Dandy, they might as well air Samurai Champloo just for kicks. It's a really great show, from what I've heard. I've seen like one episode and even so, I can tell it is a great little series. And as stated earlier, it's Bones, so it's GOTTA be good. lol 3) DragonBall Kai: Now before somebody says anything, NO. NO. I will not say that the original DragonBall/DragonBall Z should be on Toonami again. Just... no. No I say! Seriously, how many times do we have to see the same filler-filled, time wasting, badly dubbed piece of SHET that is DragonBall Z... compared to its much much much BETTER version (IMO) DragonBall Kai. Really, most people who follow Toonami now and people who watch anime in general have seen at least SOMETHING related to the original DragonBall or DragonBall Z. We don't need that anymore. What we need is the retooled, SHORTER, NO FILLER, and closer to the MANGA version that is DragonBall Kai. It's much easier to follow, the story is overall better, and hell, btw the time it finishes, if it were to be played like in the next month or so, at Cell, we should at least have the DVDs for Buu Saga coming out by then. Toonami airtime + DVD sales = GOOD MARKETING STRATEGY FTW. Plain and simple. Now then: what anime do you, KH13, want to see on Toonami? Hell, it doesn't have to be anime, it can be cartoons too. Did I mention that Samurai Jack is back on there... I didn't? Well it is... WHOOOHOOOO! 6 Shulk, Reyn, tlrpttmn and 3 others reacted to this

Sora96 17,256 Posted February 17, 2014 Toonami is airing in the U.S? That's nice. Must suck that they lost the rights to Dragon Ball Z over there. Cartoon Network Australia airs the uncut version of Dragon Ball Z Kai.

Xiro 3,468 Posted February 17, 2014 I don't know about Samurai Champloo, but I'd be down with the other two. It'd be even more reason to watch Toonami. Attack on Titan I heard the English dub will be finished soon so I think Toonami should air it English dub? Whell that's news. AoT would be a great addition to the lineup. OmegaForte 1,674 Posted February 17, 2014 (edited) It's still beyond me as to why there isn't an anime channel in the U.S yetThis.Nicktoons tried to be (sort of), but it's mostly old stuff and 99% aimed at the younger audience. If its entirely new, it has to have overdone censorship. (Although the ones dubbing it are also to blame for) Not saying they aren't anime, but with people wanting a bit more mature anime... (I dunno, I'm going by what I've seen from other people opinion)I agree on Kai on Toonsmi, but the issue is that Nicktoons and MyVortexx airs them. It would be weird to have Kai air on all 3 channels. Speaking of channels, I think Vortexx has it because it's an option for those who don't have cable. Which makes sense, seeing Digimon Xros, I mean Fusion on both channels+gets both cable and satellite users. Now what could make sense is if Toonami airs the uncut version of Kai, but again don't know if they can get the rights seeing the other two channels have it censored or not. Shulk 8,623 Posted February 17, 2014 DBZ Kai needs to go on Toonami. So do .Hack//Sign and .Hack//Roots. DBZ and .Hack were both on Toonami before, so why not air them again? I mean, I can't watch Toonami anymore, but hey, it'd be nice for the people who can. *faints* Also, Toonami does air Sword Art Online doncha know. They actually just finished SAO last week, they're moving on to Blue Exorcist now instead.

Firaga 5,947 Posted February 17, 2014 (edited) I think the Big 3 and FMAB are the only one's that will get reruns. The Big 3 don't get re-runs. They've only been on so long because... well they're the Big 3! lol They have 300+ episodes each, what do you expect? Two of them aren't even finished in Japan. FMA Brotherhood restarting over and over again, I don't have anything for... I don't really care b/c I've never been able to finish it, and it just restarted AGAIN so here's to getting that done. lol I agree on Kai on Toonsmi, but the issue is that Nicktoons and MyVortexx airs them. Nicktoons doesn't have the rights to DragonBall Kai anymore. They only got GT. LOL What a bad deal. The issue with MyVortexx, however, I agree still presents a problem. I don't see Vortexx really owning the license for too much longer. That is, if they decide to keep it until the Buu Saga finally releases and let that play out on the channel til then. Even so, I can still see Toonami and Adult Swim getting their hands on it if they wanted to. I only say that because of the case of both Nictoons and Vortexx currently being able to air Yu-Gi-Oh and Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal. I mean, I'm not an expert with licensing and deciding what channels gets to air what shows and what shows can only appear on certain channels or what not... but if those two shows can air on those respective channels, maybe the same can be done for DragonBall Kai on Vortexx and Toonami/Adult Swim. The latter of course would be the uncut version, I might add. And again, if it were to air during the Buu Saga's release, there would be a lot of hype for it. Oh boy, now THAT'S some shit right there. lol True story. Mr. Popo being blue in Vortexx's version of Kai comes to mind. Although not all censorship is done by them. Digimon Xros Wars is badly censored at some points, such as but not limited to Lillymon's skirt getting edited for example. Yet in Adventure, she's unedited at all. (And was dubbed and edited by the same company, Saban) Seriously? My main point is Vortexx is not only becoming the new 4Kids, but the host of highly censored anime. Nicktoons following similar steps. lol 1 Firaga reacted to this
