KHRecoded Is Re:Coded considered the second of the two games to come before KH3?

Recommended Posts

Nomura said that before KH3 would happen, two more games would come out, one of which we know is Kingdom Hearts 3D. Is the other Re:Coded? It is, after all, a full-on remake, not just a port, and isn't having a NA-only release like originally thought.

Hopefully so, and then at E3 2011 KH3 can have an epic introduction from Reggie Fils-Aime (in the likely event KH3 ends up on the Wii)

No, Re:coded doesn't count, I think. Nomura said he wanted to announce another KH game during E3 but didn't have time for it.

(in the likely event KH3 ends up on the Wii)

Why?

i actually wouldnt like kh on the wii. nintendo might try some tricks like, pretend to attack using the wii remote and somehow, the game gets ruined. it might be cool, but at the same time it might fail epically

Because this would allow Square to use similar graphics as they did for KH1 and 2. If you look at the cutscenes in all the portable Kingdom Hearst games, you'll notice they use the PS2 graphics. I think Square is trying to hang onto the look for as long as possible. Business-wise, Square can both save money (By not having to make new, or HD models) and make a lot of money (Because the Wii is the top selling console)

Well, you wouldn't use motion controls to attack, that's for sure. Soras attacks are far to irregular to ask a person to time swings to it. This goes double for motion plus. If anything, there might be Motion controlled reaction commands, special moves, or a pointer (Maybe for a shoot-lock type ability)

Kingdom Hearts 3 hasn't been confirmed to be coming out after the next two KH games though. All we know is that we'll hear more about it if Versus XIII does well.

They can still use KH1 graphics on a PS3

Yeah it can be considered the two games before III.

Why JUST Wii? Nomura said he will release III for conseleS. Meaning more than one system.

No, the other isn't Re:coded. Re:coded is included in the KH portable trio with BBS, Days, and the original coded. It is not a new game, but merely a remake of an existing title. The two mystery games were announced prior to BBS, Days, and coded, thus implying that they will be different games. Since Re:coded isn't, there is still one more mystery game ^^

i hope re:coded is one of the games, the conclusion is almost set so in KH3d i dont know waht stroyline will have but teh enxt in timeline is KH3, it would be stupid that the new journey of sora, that must include thing about the BBS trio and the last battle with xehanort were separate games, considering that xehanort stiil posses terra

Confirmed years ago that there won't be any more KH games on the PS2.

I'm aware that there won't be anymore KH games on PS2, it was just an idea.

Seeing how easy it would be if they did port BBS on PS2. I can't see it on any other system.

It really won't be that easy because of the fact that they would have to rework the whole game to fit the system requirements of the PS2, then change the gameplay system, tweak the graphics, etc. If they were going to put it on PS2, they should have worked on it while they were working on BBS for the PSP, like most companies do when they are making a multi-platform game.

In all, what I'm trying to say is that if BBS was coming out for the PS2, it would have to be a remake, which wouldn't be too easy to make.

You CAN, but they wouldn't. Because the PS3 is much more powerful than the PS2, Square would be expected to use graphics the same quality as Final Fantasy XIII, if not better. Square would attract negative attention by using last-gen graphics on a next-gen console, especially with their reputation for generation-pushing graphics.

But by going for the Wii, they can use the same graphics they've been using this whole time, and be accepted.

I just read the interview they have on the front page about kh3ds, and it turns out recoded does count for the two mystery titles and kh3ds doesn't.

..That makes no sense. KH3D is a completely new title and Nomura said it'll have the same importance of BBS, KH1, and KH2. If anything, Re:Coded wouldn't count.

And if Re:Coded doesn't count, where will the second one land? IIRC, Square Enix doesn't like to put their games on Microsoft's systems, the PS3 would be a bad choice for a KH game, The Wii will most likely host KH3, there would have already been two DS KH games, and the 3DS doesn't need two titles from the same franchise so close together.. so that'd just leave a second PSP game.

Also, Re:Coded appears to be a full-on remake, whereas Re:CoM was pretty much just CoM with 3D graphics and a different control mechanism, so it was essentially a port. And Coded has never seen the light of day in NA, so it's even less of a remake/port.

Why?

In addition to what others have said, it financially makes sense. I can imagine Wii games are cheaper to produce than PS3 ones, and it would sell better. The PS2 was the huge seller of the previous game generation, and a lot of the owners were in KH's target audience. KH is a kids game series, wether you want to deny it or not.

I can guarantee that if you were to poll every family household that owns a current generation console, you'd find MUCH more with a Wii than with a PS3.

The Wii continues to sell extremely well, and a big game like KH3 would make Square Enix and Disney a crapload of money if they put it on the Wii.

And it doesn't need to use motion control. They didn't use the touch screen in Days and won't in Re:Coded.

The PS3 is targeted more at the "hardcore" gamers. That's why most of the games on it are far from family-friendly. That's why the PS3 doesn't sell well. The Wii has both games for families and kids, as well as ones for the more "hardcore" gaming audience. That's why it sells well. The PS2 was similar. That's why it sold well.

In a recent interview for KH BBS he stated he will release it on more than one consele.

No he didn't.
