DISCLAIMER: This thread contains my opinion (that Kingdom Hearts is going downhill). Don't like, don't read.

 

Does anyone else think that KH is starting to get kind of boring? I mean, the series was really interesting and original up until 358/2 Days, but now they're throwing in all of this BBS, Coded, KH3D crap....I mean, can't they just get to the point already?

 

And, sorry, but I really don't think that Terra, Ven, and Aqua should be in future games. They were supposed to be part of a prequel to explain the events of KH better; keep them there please. Putting them into future games is just not going to work, imho.

I understand what your saying i still like the kingdom hearts games i think bbs might pick it up a little bit because i too think its going dow hill aswell though i will still play all the games but i like the sora story line better i think they should stop going back in time and pick up on sora's storry

I agree....Nomura needs to decide which storyline he wants to focus on, and then stick with that one. This whole jumping around from storyline to storyline thing is starting to get ridiculous.

yeah, i too would like the story to advance, im still going to play the other games though, right now im bored with completing my Kingdom Key only playthrough of the series, i just think it is the first time you play the game that you are the most interested in it, then the more you play it, the duller it gets

yes since kingdom hearts 2 he has done 2 games that don't have anything to do with were kh2 left off

I like every game, except for Coded and that stupid KH 3D crap. Seriously, if they didn't make these two, we might have news of KH3 by now.

KH3 was planned before KH 3D (I think)

Ehhhh true. I really like Re:CoM but Days was very boring

The only game I don' really like is 358/2 Days. It added Xion. That's it. They could have incorporated that into KH2 for all the importance she had. And that's all that was added. We didn't learn anything new. Why was Riku trying to be an impostor? I dunno. What was Mickey doing this whole time? I dunno. What did Roxas do in the organization? Pretty much nothing but eat ice cream. Why is Axel friends with Roxas? Because... I dunno. What happened to Xion offscreen? I dunno. What was Xemans' plan this whole time? I dunno. What was Saix doing this whole time? I dunno. Why was Disney featured in this game at all? I dunno. Why was the only new world removed? I dunno. why can they make Dark Corridors anywhere, that lead wherever they want, but never use that to finish missions quickly? Why are most of the cutscenes recycled? What new information did we learn about the indivuduals in Organization 13? Nothing.

And I can probably go on, but I won't.

The game was just useless. Luckily, BBS and 3D look much more interesting. Re:Coded also looks interesting, but unless they change a lot, it will have only slightly more impact than Days (Judging by the translated Japanese stuff)

Im sick of all the stupid spin off games and added chapters... i just want kh3 t be made so we can actually get on with the story... Nomura is leaving us hanging and none of us like it!

I like the spin off's. Fills in more of the story. I mean like, we would be so lost right now, if not for the spin offs

Well the spin off's have been going on for a really long time and some people need to see what those spin offs add up too

It takes time to make a game.

I think Nomura is adding every bit of detail in the KH series, which is good in many ways. But, Next thing you know he will have three more games of what happened after BBS.

I personally liked 358/2 days. And I agree, the spin-offs fill in some of the story, but they can get old after 2 or 3 of them. And apperently some of you don't realize that Re:coded acually takes place AFTER KH2 and it does indeed advance the story, and tells you what was written in King Mickey's letter, (the one at the end of KH2). As for KH 3D I'm not sure, it was only recently announced, and I know Sora & Riku had their KH1 outfits on but they did in Coded too. So I suppose we'll just have to wait and see.

Well it most likely won't be KH3 but you have a good point. All the spin offs so far have been important to the plot. So don't be dissing a game that you know nothing about yet

It's good story with only kh->com->days->kh2--that's it, the story ends, bbs maybe can be addition, but seriously, I don't think there's any need for kh3 and the rest. SE runs out of idea now they're making sora armageddon, i think that's just out of the story..

 

But, hey, SE is doing business, until the demand falls below minimum expectation they won't stop.

So, you're basically saying that the main titles are more interesting than the spinoffs.

I mean, you said two of the seven games aren't that good, so the franchise should end?

I don't say they're not good they're just not with the idealism of perfect ending that's only about ending the problem with the beginning so the story doesn't lose the point why it began and why it should end a.k.a philosophy point coz in my opinion, kh2 already settles everything that ever be matter, kinda thing... I'm writer with idealism of this kind anyway, but I appreciate others' opinion and that's exactly what will happen, as mentioned in my previous comment.

 

Once again, the spin offs are good to be, but not in ideal compression of philosophy (friendship, existence thingy, importance of heart, precious memories, looking for yourself, etc that's all.

In my opinion KH2 raised more questions than it solved.

I agree but Days and Re:CoM answered some of those questions.

Oh looky here, Days (a spin off) contributed to the plot. Who knew 8'D

But in all seriousness, I love that theyre making spin offs that contribute and explain stuff in the story.

Who would want to play a game where you're all confused?

I didn't learn anything new from Days. Except Xion. Roxas could have left the organization without her existing. I'm not one of those people who hates Xion, but she doesn't really add much. She was the only new thing worth learning of in Days...

Well you did learn how Axel and Roxas came to know each other and how their friendship was.

I mean in KH2 when Axel showed up I was like "WHO IS THIS?!?!?!?!"

I thought he was some stalker o.o

There were cutscenes that established their friendship in KH2 though.

And it's not like there was an explicit reason they became friends.

Actually, this video and its sequels brings up a lot of points about Days.

Kingdom Hearts isn't becoming boring, it's just becoming annoying. Once a new game comes out, we get all hyped, and when we beat it, more questions are raised, and we see a secret ending, and we say, awww damn I'm going to get that game, and the game doesn't come out for another 3-4 years. We get the game, and it turns out to be a spin-off (a good spin-off, but nevertheless, a spin-off). Basically, Kingdom Hearts this past few years has gone backwards not forwards. Hopefully, KH 3D will break this cycle.
