King.Mickey 359 Posted February 10, 2014 I don't want Turtle Beach or Astro, as the 1-star Amazon reviews turn me off completely. Bad mics, not loud enough, etc. I want something that will blast my ears out at max volume. Are there any other good companies out there capable of very high quality performance? Since I'm getting a free PS4, I'm willing to shell out $250-300 or more.
Kaweebo 3,617 Posted February 10, 2014 (edited) I use Turtle Beach and it works fine. Affordable and efficient. If you want to spend money on an overpriced headset that does literally the exact same thing, fine. Just don't listen to the Amazon reviews. I've had a set of TB's and they weren't nearly loud enough for me. I need something louder.

Also, I have read countless reviews on multiple, multiple websites that complain about TB, saying that the speakers die on them completely within just a couple months or so. Yeah, not something I want to deal with...

Yeah, not something I want to deal with... I've had mine for two years. Been trucking along so far. It's fine if you don't want to get TB specifically, but 300 bucks for a headset? Come on. Come on. lol I just got buckets of money from my tax return, and the only thing I'm really missing is a headset. I want some good surround sound, and that really only comes in the $200-300 range. KH3 would be epic with surround sound, you've got to admit. =p I think I'm going to have to go with the TB PX51's whether I like it or not. But they look pretty good for $270 so I guess I'll just hope for the best. Edited February 10, 2014 by King.Mickey

Setrex 1,031 Posted February 10, 2014 I currently use my Razer Electra headphones. It doesn't come with a fancy mic on the side of the earpiece but it did come with an attachable mic and given the price I paid for the headset (I think it was around £60) it's a really good mic. I've had them for almost 2 years now and I'm personally happy with them. The most popular ones are probably Turtlebeaches or Tritons though but they honestly wouldn't be my first choice. I think I'm going to go for the Turtlebeach PX51s even though I didn't really want to go with TB at first. They're $270 not even including tax, but they're Dolby surround sound so it sounds worth it to me. I honestly can't find a better surround sound headset anywhere I look so I don't think I have much of a choice. They also have a bluetooth function which can connect to smartphones so that's also pretty cool I guess.
xxClouDxxmoon 901 Posted February 10, 2014 From personal experience I can only advise TB, sorry.
