Yumi sighed. "Alright, if you insist, I'll let all of you go off on your own... You need to meet up with me and Lee-sensei, though. Got it? Do not get yourselves into trouble, or go into the temple without us!" She warned them. "Now then, Lee-sensei... Are you ready to go?" She asked her fellow jonin.

 

Lee

"I have been ready for a long time! Let us go on our way, Yumi-sensei! Use your youthful energy to guide us!" Lee gave Yumi a thumbs up, and began to go in the direction that Yumi had pointed out. Yumi sighed, and followed him.

 

Koukon

"Well, I guess that settles it, too..." He said. "Now then, let's go, guys! I'm getting bored just sitting here, we need to get moving! We'll meet up with you later, Yumi-sensei!" He began jumping through the forest in one of the directions Yumi had told them to go in.

 

Hikari

"Don't get ahead of yourself! If you get yourself into some dumb situation, don't expect me to get you out of it!" Hikari shouted to her friend, then sighed. She followed after him, trying to make sure he didn't go off too far on his own.

 

Kinatama

 

"Hey, I just said I'm second-in-command! You're following me!" Kinatama yelled at Koukon, immediatly launching himself back in to the trees and landing in step with Koukon. "I'm in charge of this mission now, string bean! Don't go AWOL on me!" Kinatama said, now getting far enough to where he was exactly at two branches ahead of Koukon.

 

Shogo

 

"As much as that Kinatama person seems to annoy me, I'm willing to follow him only because he seems like somebody who doesn't stand for nonsense," Shogo said, following Team Yumi as he caught up with them in the trees. Yes. Definetly no nonsense, he thought, listening to Kinatama bark at Koukon.

 

Ryuichi

 

The green spandex boy flashed a thumbs up at this fleeting father's back, and then saw Shogo take off with the others. "Wait for me, Shogo! The Green Beast will join you as well!" He said, getting into step with the others. Ryuichi frowned upon seeing Kinatama's behavior. He is a most aggressive person. Too aggressive it seems. His flames of youth burn within, but they burn angrily instead of passionately.

Kinatama yelled over his shoulder, trying to intimidate his teammate by raising his chakra presence to its highest levels.

Koukon

Koukon glared at his teammate. Why does this guy have to act like he's the leader here, anyway? I'm tired of him trying to act cool and make me look bad... I'll prove that I'm way better than him this time! The genin thought, clenching his fists.

 

Hikari

That was a little too far, even for Kinatama... The girl noticed that Koukon was mad at Kinatama. She hated having to deal with them fighting all the time, but knew that if she spoke up, it would just make the situation worse. She forced some more chakra into her feet, getting closer to Koukon. "Uh... Sorry for yelling at you earlier." She apologized.

 

Koukon continued glaring at Kinatama. "... It's fine..." He muttered, trying not to make Hikari upset.

 

Hikari sighed, and kept moving. She tried keeping up with Koukon to maybe comfort him, though she doubted it would work.

Kinatama walked to the ruins of the Temple, stopping when he reached the base. He looked around from side to side. "Doesn't seem to anybody else here. That is, it seems like that..."

 

"Do you really think there might be somebody nearby?" Shogo questioned.

 

"I don't know, Shogo. How about putting those eyes of yours to work?" Kinatama replied, prompting the Hyuga to go ahead and activate his Byakugan. His now intensified pupils scanned the area around them.

 

"No, I'm afraid I'm not picking up any foreign signatures," Shogo comfirmed. Kinatama nodded solemnly.

 

"Even so, Shogo and Captain Kinatama, I will still be on my guard at all times! My fury knows no rest!" Ryuichi commented.

 

Kinatama chuckled at the "Captain" title. "Good to hear, Ryuichi. You're one of our best assets, given your taijutsu and weapon abilites," he said, returning the favor, as Ryuichi flashed him a smile and a wink, to which the hardened Mottoyoi smiled back.

"What!?" Yumi looked frustrated. "That boy never listens to orders... Follow me, everyone." She began to go off to hunt for Koukon.

 

"The boy is in the springtime of his youth! I too made many strange decisions while in that time of my life! It is a part of youth!" Lee said, following Yumi. Hikari silently followed, angered by her friend's decision.

"String Bean? What's up with him?" asked Kinatama.

"What?! That moron!" Kinatama cried. After his ranting, he noticed Yumi Sensei, Lee Sensei, and Hikari gathering and going towards the ruins as well, intent on finding Koukon. "Hmph. Alright then, lets follow Yumi Sensei and Lee Sensei. We'll get that String Bean's act together," Kinatama said, Shogo grunting in agreeance before following him. Ryuichi followed as well, going off about Koukon's flames of youth being extinguished by his mistake, as well as having faith that his "Dad Sensei" will bring Koukon to his senses.

"Not like anyone would keep a secret base in all that rubble, anyway..." He continued along until he eventually noticed what appeared to be a stairway leading into the ground... What's down there? Maybe I should wait for the others... He ran back and hid in some rubble to make sure he wouldn't be seen if anyone walked by.

"I can use my Byakugan to help find him..." Hikari activated her Byakugan. "He's over that way." She pointed towards where she saw Koukon, and began running that way. Yumi and Lee nodded, and followed her.

"Great. Let's go!" Kinatama said, Shogo and Ryuichi following him.

"Byakugan!" Shogo cried as he, Kinatama, and Ryuichi entered the Temple. "I see! It's Koukon, he's this way!" Shogo said, his eyes looking in the same direction as where his cousin and their senseis were heading. 

 

"Great. Let's go!" Kinatama said, Shogo and Ryuichi following him.

Itachi followed Kinatama, Shogo and Ryuichi.

Eventually, Hikari caught up to Koukon. "You idiot... What are you thinking!?" She glared at Koukon. I'm glad he's safe, though... She thought to herself, not wanting to admit it. "Why did you stop here, anyway?" She asked.

 

Koukon

"I might've found out where they are! There was this weird staircase I found somewhere. I didn't go in, though... I promise." Koukon explained what he'd found.

 

Hikari sighed. "I'll see if I can find it..." She looked around with her Byakugan, and found the staircase. "Alright, lead the way, Koukon..." She muttered.

 

"Alright!" Koukon led the group to the staircase. "Is there anything down there...?" He whispered to Hikari.

 

Hikari nodded. "Yeah... There are people down there... Looks like they have a hostage tied up. This must be the people that the Hokage was talking about." She reported. "The interior looks like a large tomb... It must have been looted and then used as a base by these people."

 

"What are we standing around here for, then?" Koukon ran in, not thinking about the situation he'd gotten stuck in. "We've got to save the person in there!"

 

"What are you doing now, idiot!?" Hikari shouted. I can't let him die... I can't believe I'm doing something this stupid... She sighed, and chased in after him.

 

Yumi/Lee

"Where are you two going now!?" Yumi shouted, and chased in after her students.

 

"Please, my students, do not get ahead of yourselves!" Lee followed them in.

"Where are you two going now!?" Yumi shouted, and chased in after her students.

The trio caught up to Yumi and Lee as they joined Yumi and Lee in watching Hikari and Koukon run into the tomb-like area. "Damn, Koukon! Now he's dragging Hikari into this," The muscly teen sighed. "Alright then, lead the way Senseis!" Kinatama then said, responding to both his sensei as they all ran together.

 

"We'd better stop them before they do something foolish," Shogo commented.

 

"Yes! Lead the way, Dad Sensei!" Ryuichi cried.

Inside the tomb, Koukon had already managed to get caught by a group of rogue ninja, with Hikari next to him. "I can't believe you got us into this, Koukon..." Hikari sighed. "There have to be at least thirty people in here. There's no way our team can take all of them!" She shouted.

 

"Ugh... I can't go down like this! I'll prove that I'm the best of the genin here!" Koukon began to form a few handsigns.

 

"Koukon, stop! There's no way you can take them all on!" Yumi shouted at her student, more concerned for the safety of him and the other genin than the fact that he'd just screwed up.

 

Koukon began to use a Fireball Jutsu, three men suddenly appeared between Koukon, Hikari, and the rogue ninja.

 

Yumi's eyes lit up. "You're here!?"

 

Meanwhile, on the other team's side...

Konohamaru led his team and Fujiri's team into the cave they were supposed to go to. "Keep your guard's up guys. We have to be careful. Ok?"

Kiyoshi smiled. "Yeah, we've got this!" She responded to Tenshi.
