Paopufruity 122 Posted February 3, 2014 Thank you for clarifying it for me Flaming Lea , I guess I can be pretty ignorant , my bad.I only treat women better because that is how I was raised. I guess I was raised to be sexist then.is chivalry dead? not sure about that. It's cool to be nice, just don't be sexist. Hold the door for anyone and everyone for example. But don't do it just because they are a specific gender. Not that hard of a concept to grasp.
MasterRoxas13 340 Posted February 3, 2014 (edited) I almost always hold doors for everyone, I am not going to be just chivalrous towards women . Think Pink it is just that some people still have this old expectation for men when it comes to chivalry. from what I seen some people expect all men to do chivalrous acts like open car doors for the girlfriends/ Wife or pull the chair out of the table for their gf or wife. chivalry still exist in today ( at least in a romantic way). Again, it doesn't mean it's right. “It’s problematic because the revival of chivalry seems to only consist of baseless acts of kindness that are meant to affirm a woman’s place as less capable and [more] fragile,” Being nice to people is good dude, I don't have an issue with that, but specifically chivalry is a terribly sexist and annoying concept. I don't want to keep going with this, but chivalry is disgusting. Just be polite and kind to everyone regardless of gender, and don't give a crap what you think other people expect of you. It's as easy as just being polite to everyone you meet
