So I guess im posting this.... Like i said its a really random love fanfic about Vanitas and Xion.... Yea i kno, but i think it came out pretty good!

 

 

[align=center] Prologue

[/align][align=left] "Ugh more missions?" complained Roxas as he stepped into the lobby one morning.

"Yeah I know, it's so annoying!!!" agreed Xion as she walked to his side.

"What's annoying?" asked Axel as he joined the two.

"Missions...." answered Roxas.

"Heck yeah! I hate them too, but they help the organization and we get rewards if we do a good job right?"

"Yeah I guess." said Xion.

Axel went to sit down on the couch and Roxas went to look out the window. Then a voice called out, "XION! Come over here!"

It was Saix. He was signaling her to come over to him.

Xion frowned, "Ugh now what does he want?" She ran towards him,

"What?"

"Get ready, I have an important mission for you today." he said in an expressionless tone.

"Um okay, what's the mission?" she asked.

"Your mission is to eliminate a dark enigma located on the Destiny Islands. Find and eliminate him. Now get going."

Xion nodded, "Yes sir!."

She opened up a dark corridor and ran inside.[/align]

 

 

[align=center] Chapter 1

The shadow...

 

[/align][align=left]When Xion arrived at the Destiny Islands, everything was quiet.

"So where is this Dark Enigma Saix was talking about?" she looked out at the sea and felt the warm breeze on her face.

"It's so peaceful... Why would anyone want to destroy the peace here?"

Xion didn't see anything that looked like her target so she decided to take a walk on the beach while she searched. This place was heaven on earth. Xion loved coming here. It was the one place she could truly relax. Nothing could be more pleasant.

Then suddenly the atmosphere turned tense. And Xion could feel a strong presence. She turned her head sharply and saw a lone boy wearing an organic red body suit, and a silver helmet covered with dark glass sitting on the beach. He didn't seem to mind her, or even notice her at all!

"Who are you?" Xion asked firmly.

The boy turned his head, the helmet shielded his face from view.

"Why should I tell you?" he asked, his voice was cold and dark.

"Just tell me and there won't be any problems..." she said, drawing her keyblade.

"He must be my target!" thought Xion.

"A keyblade?" he asked, now amused.

Xion was confused, but she held her ground. "How do you know about the keyblade?" she asked.

"Why wouldn't I?" he also drew out a keyblade, a darker looking one, "I have my own."

Xion gasped, and positioned herself to fight. The boy charged and threw a slash at Xion, which she blocked and tried to return but he also blocked as well. The boy kept throwing out slashes and hits, and Xion continued to block all of them. They were equally matched. The two copied each other's moves for awhile until they both just gave up.

The boy staggered, and Xion fell to her knees. They were both exhausted....

"Your- your stronger than you look....." the boy said, between breaths. "But why can't see your face?"

"Why can't I see yours?" Xion asked back.

"Well I don't know. If I let you see my face, will you let me see yours?" He asked.

"Deal." Said Xion.

The boy took off his helmet, squinting in the light. He had spiky black hair that looked familiar, and sparkling gold eyes.

"Vanitas." he said.

"What?"

"My name."

"Oh sorry," she took off her hood, "I'm Xion."

"Xion..... A very unusual name." he mocked.

"Right back at you." Xion shot back.

Vanitas gave a small chuckle.

"Well its nice to meet you Xion." he smiled.

Xion smiled back, "Nice to meet you too Vanitas!"

Vanitas walked over and took her by the hand, "C'mon, lets take a walk."

Meanwhile on the clock tower.

"Where is Xion?" Roxas asked Axel.

"Maybe not done with her mission?"

"I don't know, she's usually here."

"I wonder what came up.

[align=center]Chapter 2 We meet again...

 

[/align][align=left]Xion and Vanitas had talked for what seemed like hours. She felt mystified and charmed while she was with him.

"Do you want to meet here again tomorrow after your um mission?" he asked.

Xion smiled, "Sure! I would love too! I'd love to talk to you like this again!"

Vanitas smiled back, "Until tomorrow then..." he said in a light voice, then vanished into a dark corridor.

Xion blushed a little and opened a dark corridor for herself then stepped inside. When she arrived at the castle, she was exhausted again. It had been a really tiring day. It was also a lot to take in as well.

"Xion!!" as voice yelled from across the room, it was Roxas, he was in his pajamas...

"Hey Roxas." said Xion in the nicest voice she could manage. She had totally forgotten about him and Axel.

"Where have you been? You weren't at the clock tower today."

"Oh I'm sorry," she didn't want to lie to him, but Roxas couldn't know, neither could Axel.

"Work was keeping me up."

Roxas gave Xion a suspicious look, "Um okay..."

"So Roxas, why are you up, at this hour, aren't you supposed to be in bed?

"Well yeah I am but I was hungry... I didn't eat that much dinner.... So I came down to get a snack."

"Why didn't you eat dinner?"

"Well because I was a little worried. You hadn't come back for a long time sooo yeah."

"Oh, I'm sorry I worried you Roxas.." she said sadly.

"Oh, no its fine Xion, I worry too much as it is. So goodnight."

"Night." said Xion, as she walked towards her room. She couldn't stop thinking about Vanitas, she couldn't wait to see him again.

 

The next day, Xion shot out of bed and quickly went to go get her mission without even eating breakfast.

Roxas was confused. "Your not even going to eat breakfast? You'll get hungry."

"Nope, I'm fine. I think its better to get going early in case I have another one of those long missions."

"But-! Oh well alright. Um see ya." he said softly

"Bye." She said, as she ran into a dark corridor.

Once her mission was done, it was really easy heart collection, Xion practically sprinted into a dark corridor to the Destiny Island.

The islands were quiet and peaceful as usual. The soft winds were blowing at the trees. She looked around and there he was, sitting in the same spot she had found him yesterday. When Vanitas spotted her he stood up.

"We meet again." he said softly, "I didn't think you'd come."

"Why wouldn't I?" Xion asked. "I said I'd come."

"Well... I'm glad you came. Sit.

"Haha. Okay."

For another two hours Xion and Vanitas talked, and they watched the sunset together. Xion felt a passion for him. A passion she could control. (If you have read 358/2 days the Beginning of a new Dawn, this will make more sense)

"I have to go, I'm sooo sorry, but they"ll be wondering." Xion finally said.

Vanitas frowned slightly, but said, "OK bye, but first."

"But first what?" Xion asked.

"This..." Vanitas hugged her!!!

She felt warm in his arms. When she finally recovered from her shock, she hugged him back.

When Vanitas finally pulled away, he waved goodbye. Xion waved to. She ran into a dark corridor and returned to the castle, her cheeks were bright red.

"Hey Poppet!!" Xigbar yelled as Xion walked into the lobby.

"Hey Xigbar.."

Demyx came around too.

"Hey Xion, your back late."

Xion nodded, "Yeah, sorry about that."

Demyx shook his head, "Oh no, its okay and...... Hey, what's with the red face?"

"My face isn't red!" Xion blurted out, making her face turn even more red.

"Oh yes it is! What happened?! Did you meet someone?! What's he like?"

"I didn't meet anyone! Now stop asking questions!!" She yelled.

"Oooohhh, Xiggy she's hiding something!"

"AM NOT!!!!"

"Whatever it is Poppet. We won't mess with ya anymore about it. Riiiiggghhht Demyx?"

"What?! N-! OH alright!"

"Kill me...." Xion mumbled.

[align=center]Chapter 3

 

[/align][align=left]Everyday for 2 weeks Xion and Vanitas met on the islands, discussing life and of course other things too. Like how they never wanted the days to end... But in all that time Xion hadn't come to the clock tower once... Now Roxas and Axe were getting really suspicious of her.

"I'm just getting really curious, where is Xion? Did we do something to upset her? Is that why she isn't coming to the clock tower? She never comes here anymore and she always comes back from her missions late. I really just wanna know what's up."

Axel looked at him, "Roxas. I know your suspicious, and I am too but we can't get all up in her business."

"Yeah, I know that, but it's not like we're spying on her... I'm gonna ask her tonight when she gets back. Maybe she'll give me an answer."

That night, when Xion entered the lobby through a dark corridor, Roxas went up to her.

"Oh hey Roxas." she said.

"Xion... I really don't want to seem like I'm being nosy but, what have you been up too? You haven't come to the tower in a really long time."

Xion's face turned red.

"Well...... I..... uh...." she stuttered, he wanted to explain and come up with a good excuse but she could not find her voice.

Roxas sighed, "It's okay... I didn't think you'd want to tell anyway, if there way something..... Goodnight.."

"No! Roxas I'm....."

"It's fine Xion." he walked off silently.

"I'm...... Sorry.." she whispered.

Xion walked off towards her room.

 

The next day Xion skipped breakfast again. But this time Roxas didn't say, or do anything to stop her.

"I'm going on my mission!" she said breathlessly.

"Um.... well okay then." Said Saix softly. "Go on then..."

 

After the mission, Xion went to hers and Vanitas' usual spot. On the beach of the islands.

There she could see Vanitas lying on the sand. He had his helmet and his eyes were closed. He was sleeping. My he was beautiful while he was asleep she thought. Vanitas then opened his eyes, sat up and yawned. He looked out at the ocean for a second then laid back down and closed his eyes again.

Xion walked over to him and got on her knees and looked at his face. It reminded her so much of someone. But she didn't know who.

Then Vanitas opened his eyes again. He flew up into a sitting position in complete shock.

"Whoa!!!!!" he yelled.

Xion just giggled.

"Gimme a break Xion!"

Xion laughed again. "Vanitas you lazy bum! I knew I would find you snoozing down here!"

Vanitas laughed himself. "Well I must be pretty predictable then."

"Haha I don't know about that."

Just then Xion's stomach growled really loudly.

"What was that? Your stomach?" he asked.

"Um.. Maybe?" she said innocently.

"Are you hungry?"

"A little..." she admitted, "I skipped breakfast..."

"Why exactly did you do that?"

"Well I wanted to get here early so I could spend more time with you."

"Aw that's really sweet Xion," he said, "But you really should eat. Come on, I think there is a restaurant on the main island. Do you wanna check it out?"

"Uh okay sure."

 

End of chapter 3

Gah I'm soooo sorry that I haven't posted in a long time I beg for forgiveness! DX lol so here's the next chapter!

 

[align=center]Chapter 3 Ventus?

 

[/align][align=left] Xion and Vanitas took a boat to the main island where they saw a small seafood restaurant. Since they were by the beach and all.

They walked inside, it wasn't that busy.

"So what do you feel like eating?" Vanitas asked

Xion smiled, "Well I don't know, I'll have to look at the menu!"

Vanitas chuckled, "Okay then." then Someone came up to them, "How many?" she asked,

"Two please." said Vanitas. The waitress smiled.

"Okay right this way follow me."

Vanitas and Xion followed the waitress to their table and they sat down.

"Thank you." Xion said

"Your welcome." said the waitress, "Im Sara an I'll be serving you tonight. I'll be back in a second to take your drink orders." she walked away.

Xion looked at the menu. "Ooh looks there's clam chowder! And snow crab!!"

Vanitas laughed "What are you gonna get?" he asked.

"Well I'm not sure. There's so many great things to pick from and I don't want to put you out..." .

Vanitas shook his head "No, everything is on me tonight." he smiled.

Xion smiled back, "You sure?"

"Positive."

"Thank you."

"Your welcome."

Xion looked at the menu again, "I guess I'll get the soup and salad combo then. What are you gonna get?"

"Hmm maybe the lobster. Yeah I'll get that."

The waitress came back around "So what do you guys want to drink?"

Vanitas spoke first, "I'll just have water."

"I'll have lemonade please." said Xion.

"Okay." she said,

"And I think we are ready to order if you don't mind.".

"Okay sure!" she smiled and pulled out a pen and paper "So what do you guys want?"

After the waitress took their orders she walked off,

"This place is pretty fancy." said Xion.

"Does it bother you that it is?" asked Vanitas.

"No no! It's actually quite nice."

"Thats good I'm glad you like it." he smiled.

Xion smiled back, "Yeah, thank you for taking me here."

"Oh no problem! I'm enjoying myself as well."

Xion giggled a little.

About ten minutes later their food came out.

They started eating "This is really good!" said Xion.

"Mine is too!"

 

After they were done eating, the waitress came back and took their plates, "Will there be any dessert for you two tonight?"

"Nah I think we are good." said Vanitas, Xion agreeed.

They paid and walked out of the restaurant.

"That was really good!" said Xion.

"Yeah it was, I enjoyed it!" Vanitas agreed.

He then looked at the sky. The soft orange color was turning purple as night started to fall.

"I wonder what Axel and Roxas are doing.." saix Xion

"You talk about them a lot. Do they know about what we do everyday?"

Xion shook her head, "No, I haven't told them yet, but they are starting to get suspicious of me now. Roxas even questioned me this morning."

Vanitas raised one of his brows "Like in a mean way?"

"No no no, Roxas was very friendly about it."

"Oh. Are you gonna tell him about it?"

"I don't know, he might get upset..."

"Why?" Vanitas asked.

"Well because him and I used to be..."together"" (referring to 358/2 days the beginning of a new dawn).

Vanitas looked out towards the ocean.

"I see what you mean, but you know. It would be nice to meet him sometime and this Axel person."

"Yeah.. I guess it would..."

 

 

Xion woke up early again the next morning. But when she got to the lobby she saw a sign on the window that said "Summer Break! 7 days off!"

"YAY!!!" Xion yelled in joy. She then proceeded to open up a dark corridor, but then she heard a voice.

"WAIT!!" it was Roxas calling after her. "Where are you going?"

"Uhhhh..... Somewhere.."

Roxas' face turned with anger, "Please Xion!! I just want to know!! Where have you been running off to?! Why have you not been hanging out with us!? Was it something I did?!" his face was red and his eyes were brimmed with tears.

Xion felt like she was about to cry herself. She wasn't supposed to because wasn't supposed to feel emotion... But Roxas.. Roxas could make her feel. She couldn't lie to him anymore.

"ANSWER ME!!" he yelled.

She had to tell him the truth, whether it hurt or not...

"C'mon Roxas... I'll show you.." she took his hand and led him into a dark corridor.

 

Vanitas was outlooking the ocean on the islands.

"Why do I always come here?" he asked himself, "I always spend my days here... It's so peaceful.. Is that it?".

Suddenly a dark corridor opened up behind him, but Vanitas didn't turn around.

"Vanitas..." Xion said softly.

Vanitas turned around and smiled widely, "Xion! Your early! Oh! And who is your friend?" he looked at Roxas, who was standig beside Xion with his hood up.

"Vanitas.... This is Roxas."

Roxas took his hood down, revealing his face.

Vanitas just stared, with his mouth wide open. Then his open mouth turned into a smirk.

"What?" Roxas asked.

Vanitas chuckled and summoned his keyblade. Then he said one word,

"Ventus..."

"Who?" said Roxas, confused.

Vanitas then charged at Roxas.
