Why is it that a Heartless cannot use a Keyblade?

foretellers assuming KH X is an officall game. Even if it's non canon it's still taken place in a kingdomhearts verse


It seems that everybody and thier mother can use a keyblade besides the heartless and dream eaters. And Dreameaters are basically the form darkness takes in the world that are asleep since it's pretty hard to enter these worlds.Dreameaters seem very much like heartless. Even biengs without an actual physical body can use a keyblade.

If the somebody of that heartless can summon a keyblade, then theoretically speaking, the heartless can also wield a keyblade. Xemnas and ansem can also wield keyblades, except they have no use for it. Plus, a shadow with a keyblade would be the funniest thing to watch because I assume it would have much difficulty carrying it.

Because, you need A FREAKING HEART TO WIELD ONE. THEY ARE "HEARTLESS". Plus it'd be redundant if the heartless could use the same weapon that can be used to permanently defeat them. :

No, you're wrong. It was stated in KH3D that Nobodies grow their own hearts over time, and Roxas already had Ven's heart when he was created, so he could use the keyblade. Xemnas probably could've summoned a keyblade, but he chose not to.

Vanitas is not an Unversed.

Fake Keyblades don't count.

The Mimic Master uses fake Keyblades.

It's implied Ansem can't wield a Keyblade. Riku even explicitly says "you've lost the Keyblade".

Also, Xemnas's Keyblade would have been useful for completing Kingdom Hearts. It's theorized he didn't use it to not be pressured by the other members, or that his Keyblade was being used as a marker for hearts to gather and form Kingdom Hearts.

It's pretty much implied in the series that anything that has a piece/is made of a Keyblade wielder (Lingering Will is made of Terra's thoughts, Vanitas is Ventus's darkness, and Young Xehanort got temporarily possessed by his future self) can wield a Keyblade, with the biggest indicator, and also the closest we have from an explicit confirmation, being when Xehanort states Vanitas's Keyblade "isn't his to wield". Therefore, a Nobody of a Keyblade wielder can wield a Keyblade even before growing a heart.

I'd say just because most Heartless are monsters that have no thought process other than 'MUST KILL'. Even the Lingering Will had a mind. I don't recall any Dream Eaters using Keyblades, but I'm 100% certain that Ansem SOD could have used a Keyblade. But, much like Xemnas, who could probably have used a Keyblade as well, he abandoned the weapon in favor of only using the powers of Darkness (Nothing, in Xemnas' case) So, I don't think it's that Heartless CAN'T wield Keyblades, just that the one Heartless capable of it - Ansem - didn't.

Those cases you mentioned are very different, as they are still connected to people who originally obtained the keyblade through normal means. Terra's will has his mind and it's a part of him, and it knew the feeling of a strong heart. Vanitas is ven's counterpart and more or less is the missing piece of Ventus(hence why his heart was almost shattered by losing his darkness). YX was possessed by MX in 3D, and his heart overtook control of YX's body, and since MX could use the keyblade and was in his younger self's body, it allowed his past self to use the keyblade, despite not having obtained it yet in the past. If its not a special case as in the cases of the people you mentioned, you still need a strong heart to wield a keyblade normally. The only exceptions to this rule all are connected with people who ORIGINALLY obtained the Keyblade through the NORMAL MEANS of having a strong heart.

 

Ok, i admit i was wrong in the heartless not having hearts, but i think it would be kind of stupid if the heartless could wield the one weapon that could permenently destroy them. Plus, i don't think the heartless all have strong hearts, most of them are probably normal people who were turned into heartless when Ansem had them plunge all those worlds into the darkness after BBS.

Those are the Emblem Heartless. They're constructs by Ansem's Apprentices DESIGNED to capture hearts. They're basically mindless machines and I doubt would be intelligent enough, or worthy enough, to construct a Keyblade. Purebloods do not have hearts at all.

 

Now Nobodies can be intelligent enough to wield Keyblades, but obviously they don't have hearts and can't.

Ansem SoD could wield one, and he's a Heartless, as said earlier. Do you see Ansem wield a weapon in the World of Chaos battle? That weapon was a dual Soul Eater keyblade.

doesn't matter whether they're emblem heartless or purebloods. They're all the manifestation of a person's heart that has been lost or taken over by the darkness. it's just that emblem heartless release their heart when destroyed. The purebloods are just vanquished and disappear into nothing. same process nobodies undergo when destroyed. And they do have hearts, mind you.

Well originally, you had to have a strong hearts to be chosen by the keyblade. By that rule, heartless should not be allowed to weild one. I guess there are a couple exceptions, because of Sora & Xehanort, but nowadays anyone can get one.

As many members have already stated, the Heartless have a great fear of the Keyblade, so it wouldn't make sense for them to wield the weapon that causes their demise.  They don't have the hearts to wield one. The Heartless as they are in terms of behavior and viciousness are already lethal enough, so they don't need Keyblades. At least that's what I think.

Heartless are heartless. Nobodies are not heartless. Lingering Will looked like terra's armor with computers in it.Data Sora was a copy of Sora which grants him the power to use a keyblade. Xion is part of Sora which grants her to use a keyblade. I have never seen Sora's mom which she is probably mad at Sora, Riku's mom, or Kairi's mom, Nami-chan mom, or Terra's mom, or Aqua's mom, or Ventus' mom, and plus your right every one has a keyblade. Stupid Ansem trying to say keyblades are "rare". He probably meant to say keyblades are "everywhere".
