Why do/don't you want children?

Recommended Posts

...*tries to think of gripping introductory paragraph.*

This is harder than I thought. Well here goes I suppose:

Kids. Kids. Can't live with 'em, can't live without them. From the day they're born they wreck your female SO's vagina and ruin your sex life for a good few years (it just doesn't feel the same. :(), until you pop out a second one which somehow manages to undo the vaginal damage the first one did.

But can you think of any greater gift than a son/daughter who brings home some delicious hot tail (preferably a big busted cheerleader called Tery  but that's just me) for you to tap when he/she comes home from college? I for one, cannot.

Having kids can be a double edged sword for many. So do you want kids? And why?

-----------------------------------

OK, on a serious note, I've been giving it a lot of thought and while I do want kids, I can't for sure say why, so I started this topic hoping someone will say just the right words I need and I'll find my answer while also being able to read why some of you don't.

I want kids because my ancestors fought to keep the bloodline alive for hundreds of thousands of years, so the least I can do is do my part to keep it going. It's just kind of weird to think that you may not have existed had your great-great-great-something or other chose to have kids with someone else. Plus I know it's really old fashioned, but I'm the only male heir in my dad's family, so there's that too.Of course I only want 2, maybe 3 kids. Don't want that vagina to be a clown car like with the Duggars.

Personally, I don't want kids. A) I'd want to be married if I had them, and I'm most likely never going to marry. and B) I don't need kids interfering with my life. I have a lot of big plans for my future, and having children (or even being married, for that matter) would just slow me down. Then there are the awful societal expectations that the /woman/ is supposed to care for the child, and since I would definitely be leaving all of those duties to my future partner, I'd be labeled a bad parent and that would also screw with my career. All in all, for me, they're not worth the effort. Plus I would never want to go through pregnancy, it's all around awful omg.

Nope nope nOPE

Going through pregnancy (well i can adopt too but MEH), a year or so of many hours of sleep lost, trying to discipline them, etc.

too much. not to mention i have little patience with people

Besides, it's not like I'm going to be miserable without kids (or even a husband)

I want kids to carry my name and lineage. I mean why else would you have them. On a personal note I have to have sons because as of late it's just me and my cousin as the last bearers of our Father's name but unfortunately my cousin didn't go to college, got in trouble with the law, and became a letdown mostly so now I have to go to college,do good, and be successful so my Family has at least one man to be proud of. It doesn't help that my Dad not only went to college but got married, had kids, became extremely wealthy, and most importantly escaped the hood while maintaining his roots. I'm having kids so I can have successful heir that I can be proud of and aren't tied to a certain fate like I was. I want my kids to live happy and fun life and not lives full of betrayal, hardships, backstabbing, and the constant assault of other kids saying "You won't amount to anything cause you're black, get out of Howard County, or your not hood enough for us Robert". I'm having kids for my Family's lineage and so I can watch and see what it's like to grow up at a nice pace and not have to rush it to protect yourself from the real world.

I'm still undecided when it comes to having kids and getting into another relationship...

After having to deal with my 2 half sisters, both of them get on my nerves. (Especially the 13 year old with her smart sassy mouth...) >,.,>

My younger brother on the other hand, we have our differences but he's not like those 2 half sisters of mine... Me and him were raised right.  This type of experience led me into me being undecided of having kids, because its really hard to raise a kid to be right...

As for relationships, I don't know about them anymore after dealing with the first one I had... Its was really nice till it lasted...

Hmmmm I'm not if I can explain properly either....I doubt anyone can. But I guess I would like kids because I want a family of my own, someone to raise and show the good things in life to. Someone to teach me while I teach them.

However the idea of pregnancy and childbirth freaks me out, so I'd rather adopt.

I would like kids someday, But it all depends on if I get married or not I guess, as well as how my voice acting job works out. And honestly since I've never had a boyfriend I just can't see myself settling down and having a family. But who knows ^^ Maybe things will change for the best!

Never thought about it like that, I guess we do owe it to them. I can relate to the heir part. My brother doesn't want kids so it's down to me and one other cousin to pass down the family name.

LOL clown car.

A woman determined to making her dreams come true. Very admirable. I doubt I could go through pregnancy either (maybe me being male has something to do with it?) But if society wants to label you as anything you can tell society to go perform an anatomically impossible act.

You're lazy I know that much but damn what would this world do without your hair, xylek? xD

Sure thing! Some day...maybe. Seems like a fun experience, though maybe frustrating at times. I'd love to be a father some day and try to be the greatest father I can.

Me too. :')

Whell... I am mixed..

I do not know if I want to plague this planet with my genes; however, I like to take care of everyone as my children, no matter what age.

Plague?! No, no, no! And if that choice of words has anything to do with you being mixed then have an extra long NOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Passing on your genes is a blessing onto this planet...unless you have a hairy back? O.o

I can relate. My cousin and I are the last bearers of our father's name too. Well, my brother is too but he doesn't want kids. That is an extremely inspirational story. I hope we can both be as successful as your father and laugh in the faces of those who laugh at us or put us down for our race.:)

I cannot explain my reasoning any further, I love kids though, and all humans, but it is hard to explain.

Not gonna lie, the bolded part made me laugh. "Sassy mouth". xD

...What happened with the first one? :(

Hmmmm I'm not if I can explain properly either....I doubt anyone can. But I guess I would like kids because I want a family of my own, someone to raise and show the good things in life to. Someone to teach me while I teach them.

To pass on the good things in life. That just might be the answer I was looking for or at least a big part of it. There are so many great things in this life and we really should share as much of it as we can. I like it.

Yeah I think I'm adopting too.

I would actually love to have children. I love the idea of being a parent, of course even though I have major plans in the future, I already have ties with people who could take care of my children while I am at my job or somewhere important (fore example, my mom, hopefully).

Will the first born be called Elsa? And major plans? Like what?

...I could always look after those kids.^^

Why I don't:

-I'm completely aware of the things teenagers do. As a parent I would dread this time period. Drugs, drinking, sex, I'd worry about some of these things.

-I'd be afraid that my child would make the wrong choices despite my efforts to lead them along the right path.

-If my child died I don't know what I would do with myself.

-I want to travel the world. Unless I was extremely wealthy this would be very difficult with children.

-It's so expensive to raise a kid.

-If I were to be a mom I'd like to be a stay at home mom so that I could clean and cook and all that other stuff. But I don't want to be a stay at home mom anyway, I'd rather go out and work doing something I love. So if both parents are working things might be hard to maintain at home (unless my kids grow up to be extremely independent like my sister and I). But idk

-Childbirth will suck

Why I do:

-I love babies

-Taking the child(ren) to Disney or any other theme park would be fun

-Just watching them grow up is an experience in itself

-My parents want to have grandkids, and I can't guarantee my sister will have kids

-I want to raise a family with my future husband and when I'm old have someone to possibly take care of me

Oh, gosh the child dying one. ;_; Lala y u bring down my emotions lyk dat? :'c

I'll be sure to give you huge chunks of cash if I ever become rich for your travels.

I would like kids someday, But it all depends on if I get married or not I guess, as well as how my voice acting job works out. And honestly since I've never had a boyfriend I just can't see myself settling down and having a family. But who knows ^^ Maybe things will change for the best!

Would like but I'm at quota. :(

Simple: I hate kids. And I'm definitely not going to be one of those teen moms. *shudders*

Quota *sigh*. But no we definitely wouldn't want that. xD

For the record I'm planning to adopt so kids being in the orphanage is the opposite of being "because of me"

Come to think of it if you were so sick of the question you could have just not bothered posting.

I would want kids. I wanna raise my kids to have good morals and a good life, so they can do the same with their children and keep the bloodline going. Besides, it'd be so much better to have a family to live with and support than be alone and lazy. Seriously.
