The real reason why we're getting X-3

Recommended Posts

I just love how people complain about square milking their franchises like X and XIII but no one says word one about how hard they've raped VII.

I just love the franchises Square Enix are "milking". VII, X and XIII are amazing.

That's because FF7 wasn't cringe worthy, derivative, hopelessly linear, uninteresting, or a teen drama.

Well Crises Core was pretty much needed in order to explain some thing like how Cloud knew Zack and what made Sephiroth turn into a villian who's obsessed with his mom. As for Advent Children I can see what you mean but it still executed very well and showed how Cloud could get over Zack's death after just remembering him. But I can definitely agree on Dirge of Cerberus. That game was not needed at all and only made more plotholes.

But it's not as bad as XIII and X because for starters, XIII's ending was great and had no need for any sequels. The sequels fo XIII only made the plot worse and an absolute mess. Especially with all that time travel crap. Same goes for X-2 as well except without any kind of plot to time travel.

I'm really not sure what game you're talking about there.  Certainly not FFX.  In that case, it just further proves the game should just be left alone.

I enjoyed all the FF7 games immensely and I absolutely loved and was addicted to XIII and Lightning and I also like XIII-2 but now it's ridiculous I mean I love FFX because of Tidus&Yuna;s romance,Tidus's Sword, and that iconic Tidus Laugh but at this point I just want a remake of FF7,Final Fantasy Agito, and a Final Fantasy Dissidia for the PS4 then you can do whatever the hell you want with Final Fantasy over at Square Enix.

At least XIII's sequels improve on the gameplay and aren't completely focused on utter fanservice. :P

Well X-3 could've been about Braska, Auron, and Jecht. THAT would've been a great game just to firetrucking get a trailer about. I'm not exactly thrilled with the X-3 they're moving forward with. I guess it could be good, but damn did they not take a simple chance at ACTUALLY making money here.

My biggest problem with the idea of X-3 is that they've resolved all of the drama and conflicts in these character's lives. Tidus was able to reconcile with his many issues, Yuna was able to save the world under her own free will, Auron is able to pass over, Lulu and Wakka live happily ever after, and Rikku and Gibrari do... whatever it is they do. Even X-2 does the favor of resolving some of the unanswered questions, like what the state of politics is like after Yevon goes under. There's just really nothing left to be accomplished here. The prospect of phoenix-downing Sin basically renders the first and second games pointless, and the fact that this is the best conflict they could come up with only goes to show how little natural drama is left within this storyline, to the point where they have to awkwardly superimpose some.

X-2 was decent until they made it that Tidus could actually be revived.

If Tidus can be reborn through some stupid reason (the Fayth basically saying "Lol k, why not?") then Sin should be able to as well (the Fayth making a Dream version of Sin). As long as the Fayth exist the world of X is in peril, so FFX-3 should be about destroying all the Fayth permanently, as they are the true source of evil. Yu Yevon probably had some master plan that as long as Fayth exist he will eventually be reborn, or some Nomura-esque plot.

I'm gonna tell you the REAL reasons why are getting X-3

1Because Toriyama directed both the X and XIII sagas and he loves making trilogies and jerk his own dick

2Nostalgia whoring, because they do know that unlike XIII,X still has a cult following that will not resist buying X-3 even if they were against the idea of X-3 to begin with
