It's Aang here to let you guys know that Pirates Of The Caribbean Online, is being rebuilt.

I was unsure whether to post this, or not to. I wasn't sure if this game is very popular among this site.

After much deliberation, I've decided to post this.

 

Pirates Of The Caribbean Online is being rebuilt by an independent gaming company. I myself, am among the new staff. We bought the initial rights from Disney, and our goal is to simply re-release this to the public. If you're interested, please feel free to comment any questions, or concerns on the game. You can see a quick Q&A below.

 

Q: Will this game be free-to-play?

A: The game will be free-to-play forever. And will not have a free trial.

 

Q: Will there be any new additions?

A: Yes. There will be new additions to the game. 

 

Q: What new stuff will be implemented into the game?

A: We will release original content made by Disney, that has never been released to the public.

 

Q: Will my character data be saved?

A: We have access to the character archive, so yes. You will still have your character data.

 

Q: When will this game release?

A: No specific release, although, we are aiming for late 2014, and possibly early 2015.

 

Q: Why won't it be released earlier?

A: We have to update all game models in the game. Which takes most of our time.

 

Q: What will be the biggest change?

A: We will be directing the game in a more serious manner, mainly for mature audiences.

I didn't even know until recently that that game had been gone. I used to play it a lot when I was younger and I had a lot of fun with it. Sailing the seas was always an awesome experience. I remember just going all the way out to the borders of the game world and then back again, because it was just relaxing and the music was beautiful.

 

With that said, this doesn't matter much to me anymore...

 

EDIT: I just read the whole first post and it actually dawned on me that you're actually part of the team remaking it? That's awesome man. Best of luck to you guys, I hope it works out.

If it reflected the maturity of the movies a bit more then the original game did, that would be a lot better.

I played this game a lot in middle/high school but kinda drew away from it my senior year. I didn't find out until a month or so ago it was gone : / But this is so awesome! It was such a fun experience with the different activities and people you met on there. I remember when the ghost island was put up.....that thing used to freak me out x'D

If you found the Ghost Island ( Raven's Cove ) interesting, wait until you see the new islands we're adding!

Because I used to play POTCO all the time back in High School until around my Junior year. My pirate name was Leon Swordkiller and I had my character completely maxed out (which is why I stopped playing it). But I remember all those good events back when I played it like Jolly Roger invading Port Royal.

POTCO Was initially shut down by Disney. They wanted to move onto different things, and they let the game go, as well as many prized games such as Toontown.

HI! I use to play this game when i was younger as well.. I just found out about a month ago it had been shut down... it made me so sad to the point where i cried haha. hearing that the game will be coming back brings me alot of joy! i may be older now but i am ready to get my game on! i had 2 pirates my main one ( Rachel Darkskull ) and ( Liz Darkskull ) my Rachel pirate was banned for good does this mean i cannot get her back? or will you be giving people their banned pirates back? i would love so very much if that could happen.

I literally am sOOOOOO happy about this. I didn't know the game was shutting down until I decided to hop back on and it wasn't there.I use to play this soooo much, and i quit. You are going to follow through right? You'll remake the entire game? If not i'll be really disappointed. If i had money to spend, I would do the same thing as you. There is no other game i have every played that offers sailing and battening ships. I've had to resort to building ships in minecraft (which i'm really good at) and rigging tnt cannons and firing ships at each other, but it's not as fun

Ok this was my favorite game and i saw that you will still get your account but its been off for such along time that i dont know my username or pass word is the and way i can send it back to my email i had the best ship in the game THE WAR BRIG i want to play the game but i dont want to restart please help. Toontown is also being rebuilt, by 2 (primary) servers. It's awesome how if enough people like a game, they can keep it going even after it's shut down.

I like how you can switch between melee and range weapons in POTCO, it has a nice feel when you shoot a pistol instead of something like a modern gun. I love the theme very much. One day when I felt bored of league of legends, I decided to find other games to play and i remembered how much fun i had on POTCO, I decided play it again, but found out it was cancelled. That shocked me for an entire week.
