Roy 137 Posted January 12, 2014 Would you recommend getting it? Also what advice would you give? I'm thinking about getting it sometime in the future and need some advice for it since it's the first persona game I'll play.
Number XV 490 Posted January 12, 2014 Yes, I would recommend it, but my recommendation is that to remember the it IS a JRPG and that there will be massive amounts of grinding. MASSIVE amounts. My other piece of advice is to remember that you may not max all the s-links (you'll see what I mean when you get it) in one playthrough and that's okay. Also, collect personas and fuse them often. Welcome to the fandom and enjoy your stay? Question though, are you getting Golden or the original?

I love JRPG's, and don't mind grinding that much and I understand since I think there's a time limit? I watched a walkthrough(only to saving Chie from her darkness) and I actually enjoyed watching it(first time happened.).
Number XV 490 Posted January 12, 2014 Well then yes I would most certainly recommend it. If you like JRPGS you'll love Persona 4. But yes, there is a time limit, and unless you want to use a guide, don't worry about it too much (you only have a year or so).

Silvia Kuroi 1,480 Posted January 12, 2014 I would certainly recommend it. It's a long (By most game's standards) RPG with a lot of mythos influence. Its leagues better than most of the other Persona games (Except maybe P3) and it has a lot going for it. Also try out Persona 3. A lot like 4 in several ways...except in Persona 3 you've got High School kids with magical abilities who summon their Personas by the way of shooting themselves in the head. 2 Robin and Roy reacted to this

Hey man don't rag on Persona 2. I loved it. (Persona 1 can die in a hole though). 1 Robin reacted to this
Robin 206 Posted January 12, 2014 it's a great game don't worry about the time thing it's not as big a deal as you think

DragonMaster 1,166 Posted January 12, 2014 Yup, it's a great game. Advice: Don't get too caught up on maxing out all the social links, as it will really just stress you out and make you dislike the game. If you really want to go for a max social link play-through, do it after completing the game once. The time limit isn't too bad. Just make sure to watch the weather forecast. It will always rain before the fog sets in (you have to clear the dungeon and boss before the fog), so if you see a few days of rain in a row, you're probably cutting it close. Sometimes there will be rainy days not followed by fog, which are safe. Those are good days to go into the dungeons, as the amount of social links available during rain is severely limited, and there are rare enemies that may show up in dungeons during rain that drop some good loot. If you can get Golden, I would highly recommend doing so. I put 172 hours into the PS2 version through two play-throughs (second one was max social link), but if I had a Vita I would still play Golden to death with all the bonus content they added. 1 Roy reacted to this

Haha I'd probably have a bad time since I have a issue with games that let you have social links. Oh okay thanks for the advice. Can't wait to get my hands on it!Sounds and looks like so much fun!
