Zap2it recently interviewed Haley Joel Osment, the English voice actor for Sora and he briefly commented on Kingdom Hearts III. He confirms that he spoke with Square Enix following the announcement at E3 2013 and that he hopes to voice Sora in Kingdom Hearts III. Zap2it: "Now, one last question. I'm going to nerd out a little on you, but you've been involved in the Kingdom Hearts franchise for a really long time, and people are excited about 'Kingdom Hearts III' finally coming out. Can you talk a little bit about that? Have you seen the script or anything?"

 

HJO: "I saw the announcement and then talked with them a little on the phone. I started doing ‘Kingdom Hearts’ in 2001, and we’ve done the main series and then the Game Boy one. I feel like I’ve done seven or eight installments, which is awesome but with this, they’re making it now and the recording of the dialogue is one of the last parts of the process. Probably this summer or later."

 

Zap2it: "But we'll have you back for Sora?"

 

HJO: "That’s what I hear. Sometimes Sora goes back to being a child or goes to another universe or changes into somebody else so I can never say for sure, but hopefully I’ll be back."

Man, just watched the interview. I bet his voice is going to be deep in this one. *Sniff* They grew up so fast

I hope it's deep. HJO's natural tone is super sexy. It would boost Sora's sex appeal greatly. He would probably be on par with Riku...probably.

Am I the only one who caught the part that said that Sora sometimes changes into a different person?

He got fat.

He was already.

 

Hopefully he comes back. He IS Sora. The fact that he's enthusiastic about the series just cements the deal.

WHY IS HIS SISTER EMILY NOT IN Kingdom Hearts YET!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!??!?!?!? She was the whole point of watching Hannah Montana.

Sounds like he's guessing as to when KH3 recording will begin (the volume cuts out when he says at the earliest), but either way it sounds like he will still be on board as long as Square Enix/Disney will have him for the foreseeable future

Not sure how many of you visit Reddit, but he's doing an ask-me-anything/AMA session (kinda like a Q&A) on the 16th, at 2pm (US East Coast time).

By the way, his Wikipedia entry states that he eats a mostly meat-free diet...except for chicken and fish. That's like...ALL the meat. Other than ham, I guess. No wonder he's so chubby, he's fooling himself!

His voice sounds a lot deeper now in that video but it's hard to say wether he cans till do the role or not. Some people who voice act have a full range of ability to sound different. And didn't he recently do dream drop distance?

 

Also i just realized he is actually older than me.

The problem is the voice. I hope the voice lead thing doesn't make him to force Sora's voice like in Kh3D

Haley Joel Osment is still the best Sora i'm glad he's into the kh series just look at his face expression i can see he enjoys it.

I don't think he knows this for certain.

I just love the fact that he nodded his head with excitement. 

He seemed really happy about Kingdom Hearts III

Im still interested to find out if he will be doing any voices for vanitas. Really want to see more vanitas action in kh3! especially in contrast with sora.

I agree, Nomura's said that the game still has alot to go through and if recording is the last thing, its going to be awhile

 

Personally I think Haley Joel Osment knows about as much as we do right now

 

It could be for an ad or something like that.

I wonder why he said he didn't know if Sora would be the same person...I mean, if he knew the story, he'd know that in KH3, it's going to be in the REAL world this time, so it would in fact be the 'real' Sora.
