Shulk 8,623 Posted January 4, 2014 There are a lot of fictional works which try to convey an inspirational message, and oftentimes, it's through a specific character. Sometimes, it's even their personality that can be found inspirational. Are there any characters in particular that you find inspirational? I've got a couple: Naruto Uzumaki (Naruto/Naruto Shippuden) Naruto's probably the one who I find to be the biggest role model. Ever since he was born, he was constantly rejected by just about everyone he knew. While I have people who accept me, I've never really been the most likable guy, and similarly to Naruto, I have a tendency to really annoy a lot of people. However, Naruto has had a dream he's been chasing through the whole series: To become the leader of his village, and gain acceptance from the others. Even though there are times that this seemed unlikely, and there were moments when it would be easier to just quit and do something else, he never backed away. At the start of the series, he was practically hated by a lot of his fellow students, and no one took him seriously. However, after years of perseverance, he finally became the hero of his village, and easily one of the most powerful ninja there. He proved that even the most unlikable people can be accepted if they try their hardest, which I can respect a lot. Kazuto "Kirito" Kirigaya (Sword Art Online) Kirito never had much of an inspirational message behind his character, I've just always admired him as a character. He was incredibly selfless, being willing to play the role of a villain in order to get negative attention off of many people who he didn't even know. He made a few mistakes over the course of the series, but instead of letting them slow him down, he used them as motivation to grow even stronger. While he was fairly shy, similarly to me, he managed to be very loyal to his friends, and very caring towards those close to him. He also fought for those who had made him a public target, and hated him, because it was the right thing to do. He was a true hero, and I can appreciate that in a character. 1 Firaga reacted to this

Guest Posted January 4, 2014 Rider from Fate/Zero ITS MY BIRTHDAY! Happy B-day, Google! Like you said, Axel, I look up to Kirito because of those very traits. I also respect Maka, for her bravery, courage, and just her ability to be boss yet adorable at the same time, and then a few others, but to put them all down I would actually have to remember their names lol. Aw dang, I left out Kirito just being cool in general. Maka's really respectable, too. Black Star deserves more respect than any of the people in the Soul Eater cast, though. Shulk 8,623 Posted January 4, 2014 I think what you said about naruto applies to me too It's good to see I'm not the only one on the site who doesn't just think of Naruto as some annoying brat just because that's how he acted at the start of the series. Silvia Kuroi 1,480 Posted January 4, 2014 Luke Fon Fabre. He overcame his sins and own problems and flaws, becoming a better person in the end. He started a loser, a whiny jerk nobody liked. Over time, he improved upon himself and learned a little of what it means to be human. He's a bit of inspiration for me for showing how someone can better themselves. 3 DragonMaster, _The Door To Light_ and Crisp Cucumber reacted to this

Shulk 8,623 Posted January 4, 2014 I just remembered a couple more for me, both from Naruto (I'm sure I have a few more, just I can't think of them off the top of my head right now): Itachi Uchiha I'd love to go into explanations, but it would involve spoiling a lot about the series... So I'll just leave it at "Honorable" Jiraiya Jiraiya wasn't exactly a perfect role model. He was known for breaking the three basic rules of a ninja very often. However, despite this, he was one of the most loyal characters in the series. Despite it being tough, he trained Naruto for a few years to teach him new techniques to defend himself, as well as to keep him safe. He also would do anything to protect the village, despite not particularly associating himself with it anymore. These aspects of his characters are ones that I find commendable. 2 Kaneki Ken and Firaga reacted to this

PrincessKari 35 Posted January 4, 2014 This is gonna sound really weird but I kind of look up to this fabulous unicorn as a role model: I mean, not only is she selfless and generous she is also willing to do more than what was originally asked of to please her friends. She's beautiful, ladylike and poised. She's more than just a pretty face as she is also clever and is able to pull her own her weight. Sure she can be a little whiny, dramatic and over the top sometimes but she is still a very good role model for little girls. Her very being shows that you can be anything you want to be. That, is why she is my role model. I also look up to the rest of the mane six as well, but her more so than the rest. 2 Crisp Cucumber and Javelin434 reacted to this
xoblivionx13 1,133 Posted January 4, 2014 (edited) As silly as he can be, Monkey D. Luffy. I've only started watching One Piece this past summer but his determination and attitude inspire me. I always find myself saying "I'm gonna be king of the pirates!" whenever I need a boost in spirit because this guy doesn't give up. He doesn't give a flying fig newton if you think he can do it or not......he's going to try no matter the cost. I have a few others but I need to organize them a bit more x'D Edited January 4, 2014 by xoblivionx13 5 Javelin434, Xiro, Crisp Cucumber and 2 others reacted to this
ReikuSSR 1,071 Posted January 4, 2014 (edited) Most of the characters I get encouragement from are the ones that are a lot like me. So what I describe what I share in common. Ginta, he was a big loser in everything except video games, manga, and fairy-tales, yet his dreams came true and became a hero to his own world. Ippo, this one should be self explanatory, but ever striving forward to get me to work harder. Tenma, he is all for action and will risk everything he has to protect anyone. He was born out of protection of Athena and will stop at nothing to keep the people closest to him on the right path. Blade, he is partly mad and insane, yet he is calm when he needs to be. He also has a strong will that is unbeatable.Born with high expectations, yet he choose his own path. And best for last, Okami, he and I share so many similar issue, one with being haunted, and being plagued with multiple visions, the fear of having the whole world turning on him. Has high deduction thinking skills, has little friends, and hardly trusts anyone. Much like me, he would go though hell just to save the person he cares about. Main reason for all of them? They are all NEEDLESS people to society. Edited January 4, 2014 by ReikuSSR 1 Xiro reacted to this
Taeyeon 1,137 Posted January 4, 2014 Naruto for the same reasons you pointed out. I'm not a huge Naruto fan anymore, but as I was growing up in the Toonmai era (TOONAMI!!) I always connected to Naruto since he was always a outcast. I look up to Yang, because even though she's a party girl she always puts her sister first before anyone, and also protective of her as well. Even though Mikasa is cray, cray in the head. I still like the fact that she is willing to do anything to be besides Eren due to Eren being her last family and that's all she has left. So I guess for me I look to these characters a lot due to them having a lot of love for their sibling/family. I can related since I have 4 brothers and even though we don't get along all the time, I would always put them first before anyone else. Optimus has always been a role model for me when I was growing up as well. His sense of heroism, and always trying to defend his home world Cybertron or planet earth as well keep in his Autobot friends/team close to him, his strength doesn't come from the Matrix or just being a good strong leader, his strength comes from his friends. 3 Skai, Xiro and Shulk reacted to this
