Truthbringer 210 Posted February 14, 2013 I had hoped that it might be a genuine leveled eeveelution. But considering how close its name is to Sylph, and just the overall looks of the thing, i would say it is most likely a flying type eeveelution D:

However, the footage in the link I gave doesn't give a lot away. I recognised Swift and another Fire Type looking move, and another that may be Air Cutter/Aerial Ace..... too soon to tell! Xalaru 445 Posted February 14, 2013 The more I stare at it, the more I think it's Flying type. On another forum I'm on, people have brought up some interesting ideas. 'Syl' means with, together, co-, com-. (you get the point). Maybe it's a dual type? Which would make sense if it's Flying type, because the only pure Flying so far is a Legendary. All Primary Flying types have Normal as a Secondary type. Someone-else said: 'Sylv made me think of sylph, which is a fairy-like elemental of air. Which, if it were to be a flying type, would certainly fit. It's also from european myth. Its origin is from Switzerland, though it has become a general western myth. So if that's what it's based on its name still fits the criteria, sylphs are also female-only spirits.' Many people speculated that it's going to be a female-exclusive Pokémon (like Froslass, for example), so that would also make sense. 1 DragonMaster reacted to this

That might be, but the whole necktie thing is weirding me out. Plus aren't Eevee mostly guys?
Isamu Kuno 2,512 Posted February 14, 2013 (edited) Say, since this in supposed to be "an evolution of the Pokemon franchise" do you think we'll finally be able to have multiple saves? I hope so. I've never re-played a Pokemon game because I didn't want to have to delete my first game so that would be perfect. Shana09 5,769 Posted February 14, 2013 (edited) It's now obvious this Pokémon is based around DNA or something to do with mutating Pokémon. The French name for Sylveon is Nymphali, which is probably derived from Nymph. Also Nymph leads to Nubile and Nubile is: Nubile refers to a young woman who is ready or suitable for marriage by virtue of her age or maturity.[1] Since at least 1973, it has also been used to refer to a sexually attractive young woman Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nubile http://serebii.net/index2.shtml Okay I got more speculation: Normal: The only reason it can be normal is it's moves and generic look. It used Focus Blast, and MANY fully evolved Normal type Pokémon know that move. It used Trump Card which is Eevee's final move that it needs to learn. It also used Nasty Plot (it looked like it), and sometimes Normal Types can use that. It also used Swift, a common normal type move. Light: Sylveon might derive from Sylvia, which is a "spirit of the wood". I supposed Sylveon is on Xerneas side, while the 2nd eeveelution is going to be on Yveltal's side (which both make sense with the DNA thing, X and Y) Many times "Light" is related to "Spirits", especially holy spirits, so it might be true. Flying: The word "Sylph" matches with "Nymph" which the word that Sylveon's French name includes. Sylph is an air nymph so it can happen. Putting my money on Normal or Light. Weiss 8,279 Posted February 14, 2013 ah thanks ^^ Slyveon? uh, Silver pokemon? Poison type? We have no idea yet. Seems to me like a flying, normal or light as most likely options. OmegaForte 1,674 Posted February 15, 2013 (edited) I'm leaning towards Bug. Why? The name all points to the forest, nature, etc, but she also could be flying. Dragon is a possibility just because it has those colors that remind me or Iris . Sylveon is most likely female only eeveelution. Maybe we'll have a male only version too. Why again? X Y= chromosomes? Aha! Sneaky Gamefreak... Edited February 15, 2013 by OmegaForte

The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted February 16, 2013 I said it before, and I'll say it again, Pokemon X and Y will be the Pokemon games that bring me back to capturing them all! This game might finally renew my faith in this series. After KH 1.5, Pokemon X and Y are second on my list of most wanted games of 2013!

Hey, I actually wanted to ask, what do you think I should choose as my starter Pokemon? I'm always a grass type at heart, but I'm having a certain affinity for Fennikin. Who do you think I should choose as my starter? X_X
Jilly Shears 2,144 Posted February 16, 2013 Anyone else find it weird for it to be normal type? Only really fitting type from just its appearance, imo. Maybe Flying or Bug, but it's a stretch.

I'm always a grass type at heart, but I'm having a certain affinity for Fennikin. Who do you think I should choose as my starter? X_X omg I didn't see this x-x To be honest, it's really difficult this time, since ALL of the starters look amazing. Right now it's by looks, since that's all you are going to get right now. I suggest you wait till it's evolutionary stages are out, with their typings, stats and movepool. Also their abilities as well. Right now we just know their obvious types and how they looks. Not much to say, I'm personally going for Fennekin, but Chespin and Froakie look amazing too. If you love Grass Pokémon, then go for Chespin. His appearance is adorable, it's like Oshawott 2.0. Fennekin is cute and pretty, it looks badass as well. Froakie just looks cool and theres like great potential in him. I suggest you wait though until we get more information off of all 3 of them.
