It's been like this since Gen 1....just look at Ivysaur,it's a Bulbasaur with a bigger flower.Servine is a little bit taller version of Snivy....etc It's only in their final evolution when we'll know for sure if they're badass or not. I'll get Froakie or Fenniken because I already got Samurott and Meganium before so I might end up picking Fenniken if his last stage evo is FirePsychic. No there was no confirmation, but there was a Pokébeach rumour that has been correct all along so Fennekin has a chance of becoming a Fire/Psychic type. But wouldn't it be funny if, let's say, someone was going to choose Chespin but switched to Frokie instead and then Frokie's final evo was really lame and Chespin's was awesome?
