Dio Brando 5,810 Posted August 8, 2013 Personally I think they look decent, but the reason I am not comfortable to the new mega-evolutions is because it seems so odd. It's a new mechanic and it'll take some time to grow on me, but it really puzzles me why they had to do this and not add a 4th stage evolution? From what i've read, apparently it's used through the process of Mega Stone and can only be used in battle? I find that annoying too. I'm expecting it to be a form, and I hope it's not called a "Mega-Enter Pokémon here-" and is instead called "Awakened -Enter Pokémon Here-". I don't hate it, just a bit confused and it's odd. Those are special methods, this...this just changes their entire appearance, types and shit. The other forms were understandable since they were legendaries and same goes for Mewtwo but these are just ordinary Pokémon. I believe its for those Pokémon who need to a boost to be used competitively. It will help those and those only. But then again, Blaziken and Lucario are good enough already... And some of the forms for ordinary Pokémon are gimmicks like Rotom, Darmanitan etc. Well some of those Pokemon desperately needed those(Except Blaziken,despite that I liked his new form,he was already powerful to begin with and now he'll be broken) Lucario,for example,can gain some boost in defensesp.def stats that he really needed in his previous form(Let's face it,as much as I love Lucario,you ALWAYS need to give him Focus Sash due to his weak defense stat) Absol is barely used in competitve battling(If not at all) so that might help it I dunno what to make of Ampharos's new form.....it looks like a dumped down version of Zekrom Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Found this cool theory, this seems really sweet. From the info I've read so far, it seems like it is more of a form change rather than a permanent evolution. I think it could really help to spice up the gameplay. It would be really cool if NPCs could use the ability, like say you're fighting the boss of [whatever the new villainous team is] and he uses these mega-pokemon. Sounds like its going to be pretty cool. I kinda hope they don't keep the "Mega[PokemonName]" naming format for the english release. It just doesn't sound too good, in my opinion. (i've played a bit of Fire Red, and im currently playing Emerald, but Emerald's been put on hold for awhile, since im playing Ni No KUni at the moment) The problem is, there are other games that im gonna get, and that'll drop my money to an all time low. I'm already planning on getting KH 1.5 and the FF X collection for sure, maybe Tales of Xillia, and then there's Pokemon X and Y. Decisions, Decisions......
