King.Mickey 359 Posted June 16, 2013 Definitely preordering Y as soon as I can. Froakie is the starter I'm going to pick. I'm glad that they're releasing the games nationwide on the same date instead of making us wait months longer, like Square makes us do...
unLock 184 Posted June 16, 2013 (edited) Oh come on, Shauna doesn't even wear Red. So thus it wouldn't make sense for Trevor or Tierno to get their starters because of a small coloured clothing they seem to wear. I think we should add each other friend code. In order to do that, we have to reply to the official 3DS friend code thread and not here. I have to post my new friend code there, since I rebooted my 3DS. I expect Tierno to have this: Maractus Kricketune Meleotta (Though highly unlikely, it's a legendary) Jigglypuff Chatot Exploud Or any Pokémon because Nando makes every Pokémon able to dance, but these Pokémon are notable. oh wow, I didn't even know there was a thread for that I'll post it here and there My friend code: 0490-5174-6986. Maybe he'll have a Liligant or even a Spinda because they learn Teeter dance. Edited June 16, 2013 by unLock

I think it's natural to have a Fairy Type Gym, since it IS the introduction of it. I just can't see this game leaving out a fairy type gym. In no particular order: Grass Fire Water Fairy Poison Normal Dragon Ghost Or Fire Water Grass Fairy Dark Flying Psychic Dragon

OmegaForte 1,674 Posted June 16, 2013 There is a possibility Elite 4 has a Fairy based team, and not a gym, like what they did with GSC. (But then that leaves it in the dark type dilemma; no dark type gyms) 1 SoraBlade reacted to this

In no particular order: Grass Fire Water Fairy Poison Normal Dragon Ghost Or Fire Water Grass Fairy Dark Flying Psychic Dragon There was a leak on a few gym leaders of X/Y The guy said the first gym leader is a Bug type and guess what X/Y first gym leader is a Bug type gym leader The Second gym is Fairy And the fourth is Fighting So if we go like that: Bug Fairy Ice Fighting Electric or Steel Grass Water Steel OR Psychic Here's a pic of how it may look like (I made it by the way) You start at the big mansion all the way south. You go up to the Bug gym leader city called Santalune. Then you go east to a small snowy town and then north to your Fairy type gym. Then you go Northwest to your Ice-crystal like windmill. Then you take a trip down to Santalune City and then you go west to the Fighting type gym leader. Then you go to Lumiose City (aka the big city) to fight the gym leader there. Note they said you will probably travel to Lumiose city sometimes to get to other places. You go north to challenge a Grass gym there. Go back to Lumiose City and go west to the Water type gym leader. Go south to the big mansion, then go around the mountain to get to Steel or Psychic type gym leader. Or you could've surf from Water type gym leader to Steel or Psychic type gym leader. Plus I already spotted the victory road and elite 4/champion location. That big castle in the east along with that big mountainous cave south of it which is the Victory Road. 2 SoraBlade and unLock reacted to this
unLock 184 Posted June 16, 2013 (edited) I think that area or grass gym is that area in the trailer when you swing through the tress. The beginning makes sense because the area when you walk with your rivals looks like it's cover in trees like in the picture. The map is really accurate to France. Could be but note that the tree has an autumn colour (aka orange) and the tree of the player swinging around had summer colours (aka green). I don't believe if it's the same tree. Every region is accurate to it's respective real world location. Kanto looks like Kanto, western part of the region looks like Eastern Chubu. Johto looks like Kansai (though it has geographic similarities to Kansai AND western Chubu) Hoenn looks like Kyushu. Sinnoh looks like Hokkaido. Unova looks NYC, which contains the 5 boroughs and it also has a bit of New Jersey on the west side of it. Edited June 16, 2013 by Shana09

And maybe the trees/ area changes seasons like in the other games. The game trailer could be in summer and the map in autumn although I doubt that. Thats going to be a bit of problem for Deerling and Sawsbuck, but it's form could change depending on the environment. Shana09 5,769 Posted June 17, 2013 (edited) New rumour~ Ima take it with a grain of salt, it's 4Chan after all. But it does reference a lot to the other rumour that has been true so far. Here are the Pokebeach rumours: Fairy will be a new type. It is weak to Poison and Steel, immune to Dragon, super effective against Dragon, Dark, and Fighting, and Fire and Psychic-type Pokemon take half damage from it. (WPM Note: Fairy is confirmed, super effectiveness against Dragon is confirmed.) Sylveon is Fairy-type. Some older Pokemon will be reclassified to Fairy, such as Mawile (Steel/Fairy). (WPM Note: Sylveon being Fairy and old Pokemon being reclassified is confirmed.) Mewtwo has two new formes, not just one. Both are activated via items. The professor's English name is Patrice. The Starter final evolutions are Fire/Psychic, Grass/Dark, and Water/Fighting. (WPM Note: Two days later [on Monday], the source informed me he had mixed up the secondary types of Chespin and Froakie's final evolutions. This bullet point reflects the correction.) The first Gym is Bug, the second is Fairy, and the fourth is Fighting. (WPM Note: First Gym being Bug is confirmed.) A few attacks will be dual-typed. (WPM Note: Many people are interpreting this as an attack shooting out two types at once, but it could just be that the attack switches types under certain conditions or something like that.) There will be a new type of battling style that Flying-type Pokemon and Pokemon with Levitate can participate in. (WPM Note: Confirmed. He also specifically named them "Sky Battles" but I missed putting that into the original post.) You will be able to see a Pokemon's EVs at a certain in-game facility. You will be able to boost the EVs through mini-games. It will take about two hours to get one stat to max EVs. (WPM Note: Gamefreak confirmed there will be greater visibility of EVs.) The goat, Gogoat -> Gogoat. It's a goat that goes. No need to change the name I guess? The panda, Yancham -> Panchum. Obviously "punch 'em," with the "punch" starting out as "pan" because it's a panda. The bird, Yayakoma -> Fletchling. Fletching or fledgling + hatchling? The "lizard," Elikiteru -> Helioptile. A heliophile is any organism attracted to sunlight, so that + reptile? Pancham evolves into Pangoro in the early level 30s. In order to evolve Pancham into Pangoro, you need to have one other Dark-type Pokemon in your party. Pangoro's type is Fighting/Dark. A Pokemon named Inkay evolves into Malimar. To evolve it, you have to hold your 3DS upside-down when it levels up (the 3DS has an accelerometer and gyroscope, so it can detect that). Malimar's type is Dark/Psychic. A Psychic-type Pokemon named Espurr (ESP + purr) evolves into Meowstick (Meow + mystic?). (Sounds like Psychic-type cats. Meowstick's name sounds too similar to Meowth to me though.) Like in B/W you have two rivals - one is friendly and the other is competitive. Your rival that is more friendly gives you his/her fully evolved starter Pokemon after you beat the game. Another professor named Sycamore gives you either Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle. Even though it shows the player riding on a Gogoat in the new trailer, players can't ride on their own Pokemon. What was shown is just an alternate way of getting around Lumiose City and it only works with Gogoat. HMs still exist but there's a lot less of them. Players will be able to see their Pokemon's EVs (probably through the same in-game facility mentioned in the other post). A new move, Belch, is a Poison-type attack that has a base power of 120. The user must consume a held Berry to perform it. Draining Kiss is a Fairy-type attack that heals the user for the same amount of damage performed. It has a base power of 60. If the previously revealed forme of Mewtwo can be said to look roughly similar to Mewtwo's original design, the second supposed form of Mewtwo can be said to look roughly/vaguely similar to Mew's design. In case you missed our correction the other day, the Starters' final evolutions are Fire/Psychic, Grass/Dark, and Water/Fighting. source: http://pokebeach.com/2013/06/pokebeach-x-y-rumor-roundup-and-clarifications Also about the Pokebeach rumour that is right so far... There are TWO professors. Scyamore and Patrice. I read this interesting theory on a discussion thread about the fact that since Scyamore gives you Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle, that she/he might give 2 of the rivals Kanto starters? Meaning, Tierno and Trevor gets Kanto starters, Shauna, the Player, and Serena/Calem gets Kalos Starters. Here's the post... I'm pretty sure it means their fully evolved Kalos starter.Since it's the friendlier rival, I can see them having the starter you're super effective against.I'm also slightly confident the starter giving rival is Shauna... She's said to be friendly, and I've got a feeling Serena/Calem will be your more serious rival.SoIf you picked Chespin, rival gives you Froakie's evoIf Fennekin is picked, you get Chespin's evoand if you start with the gorgeous Froakie, you get Fennekin's evo.now I'm just praying that their starter is female, for breedingon the subject of the Rival-starter thing...One idea I now have is that you, Shauna and Calem/Serena get the Kalos starters, sent by Patrice, and Trevor and Tierno have 2 of the Kanto starters, that have been sent from Sycamore. Then you go on with them for so long, and then you meet Sycamore in person in Lumiose or wherever, and decides 'You're a strong trainer! Can you take care of this Bulbasaur/Charmander/Squirtle for me?' and then you say yes and all that.On how they're distributed:Player: Fennekin - Chespin - FroakieSerena: Froakie - Fennekin - ChespinShauna: Chespin - Froakie - FennekinTierno: Charmander - Bulbasaur - SquirtleTrevor: Squirtle - Charmander - BulbasaurIf you pick Fennekin, you recieve Bulbasaur. If you pick Chespin, you get Squirtle. If you pick King Gorgeous (Froakie) you get Charmander. This way you're super effective against 1 rival, same type as one, and weak to 2. To compensate, you could get the remaining Kanto starter early on in game. (second town, I'm thinking)edit: I'm really glad your source is legit, some of the rumours there are nice! Now we wait for Inkay. Source: http://www.pokebeach.com/forums/thread-1-x-y-rumor-roundup-and-clarifications-6-15 (Post #8 ) Seems cool right? Weedanort 8,786 Posted June 17, 2013 Probably I'm gonna get bashed here. But does anyone else thinks that Fairy types are getting too much hype? (especially Sylveon) Think about it. Most of the Eeveevolutions don't have great overral stats (although there are some exceptions), and even with the type advantage, some pokémons can take them down with a supereffective move. Everyone's just saying that Sylveon's gonna own almost every dragon (just see the fanart, and you'll understand). In my opinion, Garchomp, Dragonite (With Multiscale), Salamence and Hydreigon won't have much difficulties with Sylveon, provided that they overcome it in Speed. Another great example: Jigglypuff, and Marril. Probably their evolutions will also be Fairies, but are they good enough to take out the big dragons? I've been thinking about Gardevoir, and she does have potential to take out big dragons, provided that they don't have boosted stats with moves such as Swords Dance, or Nasty Plot. So what do you guys think? Are Fairies overrated?
