Aang 649 Posted December 30, 2013 Remember the other islands on Destiny Islands? The ones that each were in Final Fantasy games? Wakka, Tidus, Selphie. Do you guys remember them? Because Sora & co. sure don't! As the trio explores the universe, never, do any of them take the time to mention any of them. Never is it explained what happened to there friends. Not even there parents receive the kind of attention. Sora never has a thought in his mind, about his friends, and his parents possibly being destroyed by the darkness. He even leaves his own mother, and friends that he's been with the past decade, for a small raft. Never have they been interested. And they have never been talked about. Even in Traverse Town, when you meant Tidus. It's like you are a complete stranger to him. I just don't understand. And unlike most of you, I don't think they'll be mentioned in Kingdom Hearts III. Let me know what you think in the comments section below, and remember to leave a like
Jilly Shears 2,144 Posted December 30, 2013 They never care about their parents either. They aren't important enough characters to be central to the story, so just don't think about it.
PrinceNoctis 1,011 Posted December 30, 2013 (edited) Okay, first of all, I don't think Tidus, Selphie and Wakka care about Sora anyway...And Kairi was always with Selphie in Kingdom Hearts 2 and Selphie talked about Wakka and Tidus playing with a ball so we know what happened to them. In Traverse Town, it wasn't Tidus, just a look alike. About the parents, Nomura said family wasn't important in Kingdom Hearts and I don't think I would think of my friends if I had to save the world from millions of monsters...ain't nobody got time for that?! Kaweebo 3,617 Posted December 30, 2013 This is completely disproven in Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories when Zexion taunts Riku that he doesn't care about the other islanders, and Riku proceeds to recite off all the names to prove that he still remembered them. Plus Kairi still seems to be buddy-buddy with Selphie. Sora's mom, though, needs to be addressed. 1 _The Door To Light_ reacted to this
GN_Otaku 70 Posted December 30, 2013 (edited) The parents part is completely true, but Selphie was in KH2 talking to kairi, Edited December 30, 2013 by GN_Otaku
DarkAvenger 88 Posted December 30, 2013 I kinda agree. It doesn't make sense.
Neptune Vasilias 340 Posted December 30, 2013 Tidus and Wakka went to go play that "Game with a ball" which is Blitzball from Final Fantasy 10 and Selphie is probably getting it with Kairi's Stepfather
GN_Otaku 70 Posted December 30, 2013 Also that wasn't Tidus in traverse town, some random npc I think lol
Klopp 17 Posted December 30, 2013 First of all, most teenagers hate their parents, I'm sure Sora and Riku aren't any different. As for Kairi? She doesn't have any real parents cause she randomly dropped into the place during a meteor shower. It's not completely unrealistic to think that they might neglect them, and other friends who they aren't as well connected with, in favor of their super-duper best buddies. Sora, Riku and Kairi are an inseparable trio and care more about each other than anyone else. Of course, there's also the fact that they aren't relevant to the story, therefore the producers and developers don't really care about them at all. 1 Arylett Dawnsborough reacted to this
Philip Ellwell 5,487 Posted December 30, 2013 Woa, woa, woa: Tidus is in Traverse Town? Where? O.o
Master Keeper 687 Posted December 30, 2013 Your true about the three islanders side. They explained how Auron, Zack, Cloud, Sephiroth, Cid, Leon, Aerith, Yuffie ended up in the story but Tidus, Wakka and the Gullwings fate were unknown in the story especially Tidus and Wakka, they should've explained what happened to them in that night. We do know that the three of them are alive but they should've explained what happened at least...
Isamu Kuno 2,512 Posted December 30, 2013 (edited) Okay, 1, Kairi was unconscious so she couldn't show any concern, Riku was slowly falling into darkness so he actually didn't care, until he realized the damage he'd done, and Sora was so concerned with saving Riku and Kairi, all the while fending off Heartless and locking keyholes that he didn't really have time to think about the others. When Sora learned that the Island could be reborn by defeating Ansem, that's likely the point that he realized he could save Selphie, Tidus, Wakka and all the other islanders by just continuing along the path he was already following. No one hates their parents. I know I don't... It's just that family isn't an important theme in KH (Nomura said it wasn't important but it still existed) and when they left the island, they all knew that they were leaving their families behind. Riku said it himself. They knew that leaving the island meant leaving everyone behind...

Riku said it himself. They knew that leaving the island meant leaving everyone behind... Oh, I know that. I didn't literally mean hate. Just that typical teenage angst that occurs when parents are still trying to be parents while teenagers are trying to prove that they aren't just little kids anymore. But you do have a point there. Even before they left they had made a conscious decision to leave their family behind. But that brings up another question... Did the inhabitants of the Destiny Islands know the world was round? Imagine their shock if they took off on their raft and after a long while they suddenly found themselves just on the opposite side of the islands from where they started! 1 PrinceNoctis reacted to this
Caity 3,946 Posted December 30, 2013 Kairi and Selphie appear to be girly best friends in KH2 The guy in TT wasn't Tidus Considering Sora knew that by saving the worlds and all they would be restored I think he can rest pretty peacefully that those back home were pretty safe He wasn't really best friends with them They were most likely just there so you could get EXP and fighting of the bat in Destiny Islands
VisitJoan 2,713 Posted December 30, 2013 This is a video game. They're not going to waste time putting that many details into the story. Also they could have been mentioned off screen.
