1. How did you get into Voiceover?

It was something I had always wanted to be a part of...When I began my training in the theatre I always new that I wanted to be a versatile actor and work in many different Mediums...I started on the stage... I was making a living in the theatre but I wanted more money and I wanted to move back to LA while
I was still young...After a couple of tough years....I began working in Television...But their was a lot of down time in between gigs... So, eventually I began working on my Voice Demo reel....And started looking for an agent...From there I signed with Sandie Schnarr Talent and a few months later... I booked my first Voice Over gig...

2. What kind of projects did you do at first?
In the beginning I auditioned on many projects...I worked on a few commercials using my normal voice...Very subtle acting spots...I started listening to the TV, Radio, and played Video Games to research my new vocation and realized that I could imitate a lot of the styles and accents that were being used...eventually I began booking jobs across the board... Promo's, Trailers, Video Games and Commercials for Radio and TV...

3. What was your favorite to work on, to this point?
I have worked on so many wonderful projects... It's hard to pick a favorite... I do enjoy working on projects that involve MOCAP (Motion Capture) It's like using allthe skills that I have learned over the years in one project... It's a mixture of Theater, Film and Voiceover rolled into one...So working on the Uncharted series, Resistance 3 and The Saboteur would have to be favorites in that area...

4. How did the Disney Team get in contact with you?
I'm usually contacted by my agent...The Disney Team Contacts Sandie Schnarr and she calls me to give me the good news!

5. Tell us about anything interesting that you may have experienced in the Disney Recording booth (if anything stood out or was humorous).
It's always fun to be in the booth...It was great to be working on such a successful project and I remember Disney threw an amazing party to Launch the game in Hollywood...

6. How was the Fan response to your character (LUXORD)?
I received a lot of emails from fans of the game...I was quite surprised and very happy to receive all the positive feedback...
I still receive email concerning my work as Luxord.

7. Ever been to any conventions? (if so, what did you think of it or what was your opinion on the cosplay).
I attended quite a few conventions in the late 90's after playing roles on Babylon 5 and Buffy The Vampire Slayer...I remember attending an anime convention in Dallas where there was a lot of Cosplay...I think it's great to be in any type of group where people have similar interests...It creates a sense of
acceptance and camaraderie... I think it's something we all strive for...

8. Any Upcoming projects that we might see you in?
This year has been extremely busy...I have been working on the New Thundercats series with the amazing Andrea Romano...I'm playing Mumm_Ra.... I just appeared in the first episode of Criminal Minds this season...Resistance 3 is out there...I play the lead Joe Capelli...Gears Of War 3 was recently released and I'll be appearing in Uncharted 3 playing Talbot...It will be released in November...I'm always updating my site RobinAtkinDownes.com with upcoming roles and you can see a list of upcoming projects on IMDB http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0235960/ I also have a You Tube Channel that I update frequently with new roles: http://www.youtube.c...obinAtkinDownes

9. Any advice for up and coming voiceover talents?
There's a lot of research at your eartips...And it's a lot of fun to research games, Cartoons and commercials... There's so much out there now on Youtube and
other sites...Create a unique demo and strive for excellence in everything you do...Also... Be Specific with your choices...And have fun!
