Music 13 Favourite Albums of 2013

Recommended Posts

My Personal 13 Best Albums of 2013As you can tell, I generally like metal/hard rock. There are a few albums I have yet to listen to such as Eminem's new album, Daft Punk's new album, and Arsis' new album but this list is pretty representative of my favourite album's of the year. Some of the choices may seem weird, but some preference was given to album's which really surprised me such as artists who redeemed themselves or changed my previously negative opinion on them, or band's I have always had a weak spot for.1) Dillinger Escape Plan: One of Us Is the Killer (best alternative metal/hardcore)

2) August Burns Red: Rescue & Restore (best metalcore)

3) Counterparts: The Difference between Hell and Home (best hardcore)

4) Coheed and Cambria: The Afterman: Descension (best alternative)

5) Stone Sour: House of Gold & Bones Part 2 (best rock)

6) Arctic Monkeys: AM (best indie-rock)

7) Gorguts - Colored Sands (best metal)8) Dream Theatre- Self Titled9) The Strokes: Comedown Machine

10) A Day to Remember: Common Courtesy (best post-hardcore)

11) Fall Out Boy: Save Rock and Roll (best pop rock)

12) Queens of the Stone Age: ...Like Clockwork

13) Kanye West: Yeezus (best hip hop)

Honourable Mentions:Dark Tranquillity: Construct,Sleigh Bells: Bitter Rivals,Vampire Weekend: Modern Vampires of the City,Bring Me The Horizon: SempiternalFuneral for a Friend: Conduit

I can't think of 13 off the top of my head but I have

Fall Out Boy: Save Rock and Roll

Arctic Monkeys: AM

Never Shout Never: Sunflower

Panic! at the disco: Too Weird To Live Too Young To Die

Woodkid: The Golden Age

City and Colour: The Hurry and the Harm

The Neighbourhood: I Love You

And I don't really listen to rap but Eminem's The Marshall Mathers LP 2 was great.

I might make a list of the 13 Worst Albums of 2013, just to be antagonistic... That would be interesting. :)I can already start to see the outlines of it: Falling in Reverse, Asking Alexandria, Bullet for my Valentine... Yup, I might do this too. It will be a bit harder, but I like a challenge.
