KH2 Atlantica in KH2 is pointless

I dunno if I'm the only one who feels the same way about this

 

But there is no reason for Atlantica to exist in KH 2 for simply two facts:

 

1The world itself is barely canon,there is neither heartless nor nobodies roaming this world at all,nothing related to Organization XIII is revealed and Ursula is no longer involved with neither the heartless nor Maleficent

 

 

2During my playthroughs,I found out that you can finish the entire game without touching Atlantica or a single song in it once....I'm not kidding

 

During 3 of my playthroughs of KH2 I completely skipped Atlantica and didn't finish a single song in it...which begs the question:If this world isn't invaded by the Heartless nor the nobodies....why do Sora,Donald and Goofy need to visit this world again???

 

Well,it turns out that there are certain items and spell upgrades that you can only get here with the addition of the keychain that you get after finishing it

 

It's pretty much became another 100 Acre Wood.You don't have to do it,but it's there for you to get some items and spells that will ease your journey

 

Aside from that,you do nothing related to the story in Atlantica

Finishing Atlantica also allows you access to the Ultima Weapon. 

 

I generally don't like doing Atlantica either simply because it contradicts canon. Why is Ursula even still alive? Square just throws their hands up in the air and asks, 'Do you want to see Sora, Donald and Goofy singing cheesy songs or not?'

 

No. No I don't.

What I wanted from Atlantica here is to be like it was in the first game:Fighting Underwater...I loved Atlantica in KH1 except of the annoying looping Under The Sea that loops forever.

 

in KH2,while Atlantica had better music....you do nothing in this world related to the game unless you're going for 100% completion.

 

You can do Atlantica after finishing the game.Other than that,unless you want more spells and abilities that will ease the journey before the Final boss,there isn't that much of a reason to go to Atlantica

 

In KH1,Atlantica was totally canon as even King Triton himself knows about the role of a Keyblade Wielder

 

Unlike in KH2 Atlantica where almost no one remembers WTF a keyblade or a heartless is

It was fun and relaxing in KH2. One, there was no annoying Under The Sea Loop. Two, No fighting = No terrible gameplay mechanics. An extra note to no fighting, no crappy fight music!

 

Am I the only one that likes Atlantica better in KH2 than KH1?

Don't worry,you're not the only one...As for Your complaining,let's just say Atlantica or 100 Acre Wood wants to give you a "time to relax besides fighting".Besides,it's good to play Mini Games once in a while besides fighting some Heartless and Nobodies,so i think these worlds are the opportunity of it,don't take too hard oh this one...

Besides,i gotta feeling that complete Atlantica and 100 Acre Wood will be a main thing for completing your trophy support,so you don't have any other way...

Nope, you're not alone at all. 

Yeah I admit the Underwater mechanic in KH1 was kinda wonky,but I got used to it.

 

Also,Despite the annoying Under The Sea loop,I liked exploring Atlantica and going to Ursula's cave and fighting Giant Ursula.

 

I won't deny that Altantica in KH2 is relaxing,but for me I go there just to listen to the new Atlantica theme called(Isn't it lovely) and that's it,there is nothing to do here except for the Rhythm minigame which suffers from input delay in the last two songs

I agree with you on this, its nice to take a break from bashing heartless and enjoy some mini games.

The world would be cooler if it got heartless, nobodies and more places..cuz with that, the world will be at least an optional world which is a bit cool

The reason they decided not to have battles is because people were complaining about the battles in there in the first game. You couldn't use any Limits, Dodge Roll, or guard. and the Hearless could come at you from below, as well as above and all around. You were basically a sitting duck.

 

My only problem with the KH II version is that they didn't play Kiss the Girl. It would have been hilarious to see Sora's reaction to that.

 

I still don't understand how Ursula returned in KH2, she died in KH1.

Either Maleficent brought her back like she did with Oogie, or the powers of darkness returned her. Villains can do that apparently.

I don't really hate Atlantica, but it is defenitly one of my least favorite worlds in both KH1 and KH2. The controls in KH1 were annoying, and all that singing stuff in KH2 just is nothing for me I guess.

Well, people also complained about KH1's controls and how hard it is, but look what happened in KhII. They improved the gameplay and made it smoother and they could've done the same with Atlantica, I mean come on did it stop on that problem..

It's there just for fun, it's optional, but you have to beat it when you get the Ultima Weapon. Still, it is pointless, but people may find it fun and it would be like a little brain break from all the fighting.

As Master Eraqus would say "IT MUST BE THE DARKNESS!"Seriously, Atlantica isn't really pointless. If someone doesn't like it, they can simply not play it and beat the game while people who do like it (me and other people in this thread) can enjoy fun quick minigames and get some ingredients for the Ultima Weapon.

I personally dislike Atlantica in Kh2, but that may be due to my distaste for musicals .-.

 

Setting that aside, I don't really have much to say about it other than I wonder how Ariel forgot what happened in KH1, and suddenly decided getting involved with Ursula was a good idea.

 

I suppose my opinion of Kh2's Atlantica isn't a really fair one, so I won't say much about it other than I don't really care for it.
