{Astra}Astra noticed Maleficent's attack and made a backflip."That was dangerous."It was then that the whole battle field shook by Seth's sudden outburst."He is getting out of control, but dealing with Maleficent and the Witch takes priority."The silver haired boy reached out his hand and focused. In a couple of seconds another Keyblade, which somehow resembled a broken X-Blade, appeared on his hand."Just don't disappear on me." he muttered while pointing the new Keyblade at the portal.Both Light and Darkness gathered at the tip of the broken Keyblade before it shoot a mixed beam of Light and Darkness into the portal. With his other Keyblade Astra casted a barrier around him to avoid being distracted while trying to seal the portal.{Yuri and Ainari}"As ready as I could be." Yuri said."Yeah. Let us be on our way."Yuri was looking between Xion and Zion while Aina looked at the Superior."You be careful, alright?" she said before giving a small smile. "We do not want another accident like before. I know you are strong, but if you need anything just give us a call. The darkness will make sure to give us the message."The white haired girl waved at her companion to catch her attention."Come on airhead, we must make haste."

Zion let Xion push her hand down.

-Unfair. You can obviously tell this idiot melts under your hands.-

"Sione, stop embarrasing me."

-Nag. Too fun.- the two stopped bickering, Keyblade flaahing away. Zion turned to face Xion, cheeks tinged red. "Um...sorry...heh..."

"Ahhhh!" Xavvic cried... He had to stop himself...or 'Seth' from causing too much havoc...

But something was strange....

Seth was stronger than before... Harder to contain...

Tyler glares right at Lacuna as he pushes against her weapon with his Keyblade. He charges up a Holy spell in his other hand, as he looks straight on at Lacuna, preparing to try to use the Holy spell up close at Lacuna, hoping for it to do some kind of damage. He looks at Ventus to warn him with a nod, and then he looks right at Lacuna as he charges it further. "You shall not hurt anyone... Holy!" Shouted Tyler, preparing to unleash Holy upon Lacuna. Tyler casts Holy upon Lacuna, in the shape of a ball of white-colored Light, and may be a lot of damage if it hits it's mark. Tom quickly jumps off Maleficent's back, as he sent more beams of Light at the portal, as he glances at Tyler's attack. Angelica quickly does a back flip onto the bridge and watches Tyler's attack with a stern look on her face.

{Ventus & Lacuna}

As Lacuna locked blades with Tyler, she continued to trade blows with Ven, their blades sparking off each other. The VoidWitch's usually play demeanor was now blank, her face giving away nothing. Ven, filled with anger, gritted his teeth as he tried to avenge his fallen friends, but she seemed to know his moves as he made them.

As Tyler began to use Holy, Lacuna disengaged her Void Blade, removing the support for Tyler's Keyblade. She twirled to the side, reigniting her Void Blade in her right hand, using it to clash with Ven's blade, freeing up her Keyblade to trip Ven up to stumble into the path of Tyler's Holy. In what felt like slow motion for him, Ven watched the ball of Light energy crackle by his face, both objects missing each other by millimeters.

While Ven tried to recover from the trip and near hit with the Light spell, Lacuna focused on Tyler. She launched into a quick barrage of strikes with her Void-made Keyblade against Tyler's defenses.

"Rule 1 of using really powerful spells at point blank range." Lacuna began.

The Void Blade turned into a whip which the Void Witch used to wrap around Tyler's leg, and whip it around to send him flying at Angelica.

"Make sure th enemy don't see it coming!" She yelled after him, before turning around to bring her Keyblade down onto Ven. Ven managed to deflect her attack and roll up into a defensive posture.

Maleficent continued to attack Xterly, Tom, Astra and Karen with flames, claws and the concussive force of her wings. Once Astra put up his barrier, Maleficent seemed to zero in on him, sending a long gout of flame against his defenses. The combined beams from Tom and Astra hit the dark portal, causing it to slowly disappeared. It tried to fight back, but it was no match for the two beams.

 

{Mercy}

Vanfore grunted with effort as it poured more power into the portal to keep it open, but it was still closing. Mercy watched as a coil of darkness near her unfurled into a long tentacle with a barbed end. On mental orders, the tentacle positioned itself to extend through the portal to impale either Tom or Astra.

Judging her time to be now or never, Mercy took in a deep breath and let lose with all the Light she had stored up. It disintegrated the bonds that held her and most of the tentacle. Vanfore let out an inhuman screech as the Light burned it. Mercy dropped to her knees, but tried to get up again. Pushing past the weakness she felt, the Princess of Heart summoned her Keyblade and charged Vanfore. The old creature from nightmares stood up, one of its arms bonding with the barbed tip of the mostly disintegrated tentacle. The arm that still had a hand shot up to grab Mercy's blade and the other stabbed Mercy through the belly.

 

{Back to Ven and Lacuna's neck of the woods}

The Portal gave way under Astra's and Tom's beams, though there was a faint glimmer of light before it totally failed. The Dragon didn't seem to notice and kept up her attacks against those attacking her.

Lacuna again formed her Void blade into a whip and grabbed Ven's leg. She yanked him down as the void whip snaked around him, contracting him. He fought and squirmed to get out, but to no avail. With a grimly satisfied look, Lacuna reared back with her blade for a final blow.

Then she paused. She looked back at where the portal had been, then to the Dragon, made a visual stop at Angelica, then back to Ven. Ven stared at into two blue eyes that looked angry and conflicted. Then, just like that, she shrugged and smiled.

"Maybe next time, Venny." She said in a jovial tone, before disappearing in the blink of an eye.

 

 

{Xion & Xemnas}

Xemnas stopped working and turned to face Aina, and stared at her for a bit.

"Your... concern is touching, and I will bear it in mind." He said before turning back around and continued working.

Xion flushed a little after hearing Zion and Sione's conversation. She opened and closed her mouth a few times before managing.

"It's alright."

Flustered by the events of the past few minutes, Xion's mind went into the autopilot she developed when she worked missions for Organization XIII. She reached out a hand and summoned a dark portal to her destination and stepped through.

The first thing she noticed as she exited the other side of her portal was that she was freezing to the bone. She took a few crunchy steps before she looked down to see the dirty snow that covered the ruins of a small city.

"So" she said as her teeth started chattering. "This is Arendelle."

Zion's golden wing drapped across Xion.

"You're telling us. I'mmabout ready to blow something up just to get warm." She replied, pulling her close. "We need tonget winter clothes. Thisis utterly ridiculous." Zion shivered. "And you're the one with a cloak too!"

Tyler crashed into Angelica, as he let out a grunt, as he got up. Angelica let out an angry grunt. "What a sour-patch kid gone wrong... No matter, I've got the Data we needed... Bye!" Shouted Angelica, taking her leave. Angelica teleported away back to her group's headquarters. Tyler grunted as he let out a sigh. "Darn it... She got away... So did that other woman..." Thought Tyler, mentally thinking about Lacuna and Angelica's escape. Tyler walks right over to Ventus. Tom, Xterly, and Karen quickly jump over the tail, and cast Blizzaga spells at Maleficent, as Master Thomas launches a Thundaga spell at Maleficent.

{Astra}Astra dismissed the barrier and jumped into the air while pointing at the dragon."Hurry up! There is something wrong with the Princess of Heart!"The boy then casted some Lightning and Ice spells against the Dragon."That Witch....what is she ploting..." the silver haired boy thought.{Yuri and Ainari}Yuri watched as the black haired opened a dark portal and walked into it followed by the other girl."Now that was interesting." she said before turning towards the Superior. "Seeya soon Boss!"The white haired girl saluted and ran into the portal."Please excuse us." Ainari said while bowing. "See you soon."Ainari then walked into the portal. The sight on the other side of the portal was impressive."Nice place. Cold, but nice."Aina then looked at her companion and frowned."Aren't you cold?""Ah! My natural affinity to the Fire Element prevents me from feeling the cold." she then sneezed. "To an extent.""Well...Zion is right. We need to find proper garments for this weather." the girl in the black clothes said while rubbing her arms to keep herself warm.

Seth was roaming around the castle. "Damn..." He muttered. "She's gone..." He walked back to the field.

{Xion}

"I think they made these coats with style in mind, not warmth." Xion replied, shivering some more.

She glanced around the deserted town, considering the options.

"Well, unless we want to make a trip else where for warmer clothes, I guess we should start checking houses." She suggested. "Something must have survived the fall."

Steeling herself, Xion stepped away from Zion and made for a nearby house. The wind picked up a little, giving the already frigid temperatures an edge. The Replica Keyblade Wielder already lost feeling in fingers and toes by the time she reached the house.

Giving her hands a go quick blow, she reached out and summoned her Keyblade. Using a little Aero magic, she blew some snow away from the door then tried the handle. Finding it unlocked, she went in. The house looked rather foreboding from the inside, though Xion rethought that when she found a bundle of blankets neatly stacked by the door. She grabbed one and threw it over her shoulders.

"Blankets in here!" She called to the others while trying to wrap herself tighter in her blanket.

They would probably need something more if they had to trek far in this weather, but for now, the blanket was enough.

 

{Ventus}

After Lacuna had gone, the energy that kept Ven bound disappeared. He jumped up, gritting his teeth that she had gotten him so easily. For a moment, Ven just stares out at nothing. Then a stream of green overhead awakens him from his revery.

"Come on, Tyler." Ven said. "We still have work to do."

Maleficent growled as she tried to hit her foes with what ever appendage was in range, from fore leg to tail. What ever was left of her mind recognized it was in danger. The dragon spread her mighty wings and took to the sky. On her way up, she managed to dodge a few of the spells aimed at her, but she was a big target and couldn't dodge them all.

Ven charged his Keyblade with lightning and threw it at Maleficent.

"What do you mean, somethings wrong?" Ven called to Astra, a cold feeling settling in his stomach.

 

{Mercy}

Mercy lay curled up on the cold ground of Vanfore's lair. Both her hands clasped at the gaping wound in her belly as she fought to stay conscious. In the haze of her world, she heard someone tsking.

"Was it so hard to keep her alive that you almost manage to do the opposite while I'm gone." Lacuna chided as she knelt by Mercy.

"The plan is in shambles." Vanfore hissed. "The plant woman ruined the attack."

Lacuna shook her head as she examined Mercy's wound.

"We both know that Maleficent was just the first hurtle the heroes would have to go through." She explained. "Yes, we thought she'd kill a few, but the plan is not shambleized."

"Just..." Mercy croaked, just the effort of talking an agony. "Finish this."

Lacuna gave her a smile. In her fading state, Mercy could have sworn it was twinged with...sadness.

"Sorry, kid." The Void Witch said, a light orb appearing on her finger tips. "I'm gonna need you for a bit longer."

Zion followed, then wrapped another blanket around Zion before her wings encompassed them both. The light slighty intensified, then a warmth spread.

"I can try and do this for everyone." Zion said. "Least it can get the chill out a bit." She looked back. "If anyone's really cold I can wrap my wings around you for a bit. They tend to be really warm." She notified them.

-You get first because this idiot is hopeless.- Sione informed Xion matter of factly.

Tyler nods at Ventus, and ran at Maleficent, casting waves of Light at her from his Keyblade. Tom takes his Keyblade, and fires a burst of Light from it at Maleficent. Xterly, and Karen cast Firaga and Blizzaga spells from their Keyblades at Maleficent. Master Thomas raises his Keyblade at Maleficent, and sends out X-shaped waves of Light from it at Maleficent. "Hit her with all we've got!" Shouted Tyler, telling the others to attack Maleficent together.

{Astra}"I don't know!" he yelled. "It's just like her life force flickered for a moment. There is also a slight disturbance in her life force. Something is happening to her, of that I am sure!"Astra was looking at the dragon as she took to the sky."Oh no you don't."The silver haired boy then pointed his two Keyblades at the Dragon and focused on gathering enough energy in both weapons."Hit her with all we've got!" Shouted Tyler."Double Ragnarok!"Energy bullets were shot from the tip of both Keyblades and where headed towards Maleficent.{Yuri and Ainari}Ainari quickly took a blanket and threw it over her shoulders."This will do for a while.""Comfy enough." Yuri said while rubbing her hands together under the blanket. "But I have to say...who do you think lives here?"The girl in black glanced at her companion and shrugged in response."Who knows. Anyways...we need to look for the Princess of Heart.""In this weather?" Yuri snickered. "I would be surprised if that princess isn't already frozen solid by now."Ainari shook her head and gently punched Yuri in her arm."Stop joking around." she said before looking at Zion. "And thanks for the offer, but we are fine for now."

{Xion}

Xion smiled and murmured a thanks to Zion. She still wasn't sure how to respond to Sione yet. That was something she would have to work on.

"Well, I think I saw a castle further in this town." She said. "Best place to check. If we can't find the Princess there, then I'll be out of ideas."

As she adjusted her blanket, she reviewed some of the old Organization XIII protocols for something useful to say.

"Oh, if you get too cold, use a portal out." She said, remembering one of the few useful things she learned from the Organization. "Take a few minutes to warm up back at Destiny Islands, then come back."

Taking a second to blow on her hands, Xion started heading to the back door of the house.

"And let's try to move from house to house as much as we can."

 

{Ventus}

Maleficent's plan for higher ground turned into a bit for escape as the combined fire power from the five Keyblade wielders hammered her. Too late to run and too late to fight, a spark of the witch's old personality took control and the dragon went into a deadman's dive for the heroes.

Ven caught his Keyblade and prepared for another throw before he realized what the dragon was doing.

"Get to the castle!" He yelled as he fired lightning bolts at Maleficent, hoping to alter her course.

The dragon, bleeding from where it had been hit from the magic and blade attacks used against her, let out a final roar, that eerily sounded like laughter as she rammed the bridge to the castle full force. A second before impact, Ven launched himself into the air, using the gliding technique he had learned in Neverland to stay aloft as bridge and dragon were destroyed.

Tyler, Xterly, Karen, Tom, and Master Thomas run into the castle, after burning the vines blocking the entrance with a combined Firaga spell. They walk inside, and look around. "We're here, let's go find Mercy and get out of here at once with her..." Said Xterly, talking to everyone. Tyler looks at Xterly and taps him on the arm. "We need a plan first... We can't just barge in without a plan of a rescue mission..." Said Tyler, talking to Xterly.Karen,Tom, and Master Thomas look around the castle for any danger.

{Astra}Astra saw how the dragon was now coming at them at full speed when one of his Keyblades vanished."Not now!" he said before he realized Maleficent's plan. "Oh you've got to be kidding me!""Get to the castle!" Ven yelled.The silver haired boy ran inside the caslte after Tyler, Xterly, Karen, Tom, and Master Thomas. Taking a look around trying to find enemies or danger to the group."Nothing. And yet the Princess of Heart is in troubles.""We're here, let's go find Mercy and get out of here at once with her..." Said Xterly."We need a plan first... We can't just barge in without a plan of a rescue mission..." Said Tyler"He is right. While I am sure that there is not enough time we need a plan before engaging in combat. That Witch is not to be taken lightly."Astra walked a little away from the group before putting his hood back on."What is your purpose Void Witch? Not even here I am close to understand your goals." Astra thought.{Yuri and Ainari}"Gotta admit that this place is nice...if you manage to ignore the cold, that is."Yuri was already outside taking a look around the landscape, taking everything she could into her memory. Although there where many places similar in the Realm of Darkness there was something that managed to make it feel unique."Roger." Said Aina to Xion. "Remember to be careful at all times. We do not know the rules and inhabitants of this particular world."After rubbing her arms to keep herself warm, Ainari made her way outside only to be greeted by another wave of cold."This will be somewhat difficult, but we have to find that Princess" she thought to herself.It came as a surprise to the girl in black when her traveling companion wrapped her arms around her shoulders."Y-Yuri! w-what are you d-doing?!" Aina stuttered in embarrassment."Oh hush." Yuri answered. "I can see that you're cold. So this will help...at least for a while."Unbeknown to Ainari, Yuri had a small tint of pink on her cheeks."Oh...um...thanks, but...uh...it will be difficult to walk like this..."Yuri let go of Aina and shrugged."Sure thing. Just remember that if you need some warm then just tell me."Yuri began to walk away with Ainari following closely behind her while watching at the white haired girl, wondering about her recent behavior.

Zion's wings folded back, and she held Xion back.

"Keyblade Masters and Princesses in Shining Arkor first, milady." She curtsid playfully, and started tonopen the door.

"So. We ever going to see if I am in fact a Princess of Heart?" She asked Xion.

{Ventus}

Ven glided over the ruins of the bridge, watching the last smoke of Maleficent's flames die away. Fleetingly, he wondered if he and the others could have helped her. Banking in the air, Ven altered his course to bring him through the entrance to the late Witch's castle, landing with a little skidding.

"Everyone okay?" He asked. "Everybody here?"

He took a moment to close his eyes and breath in slowly.

"This can't be the last hurtle we'll have to jump through to save Mercy." He murmured.

 

{Xion}

Xion started at Zion's question, then looked a little sheepish.

"Sorry." She said. "With our little meeting with Xemnas, I forgot why we went to Disney Castle."

Xion pulled out the crystal Xemnas had given her, which she gave a suspicious look. She could only hope that it only did what Xemnas said it would and he hasn't added anything to it. Xion held out the crystal close to Zion, almost touching the girl. The crystal lit up, like it was reflecting the light of another source. From Xion's point of view, it looked like the source, while unseen outside its reflection, seemed to be Zion.

"I guess that settles it." She said, putting the crystal away.

She smiled a little.

"I guess I'll need to call you 'your highness' from now on." Xion teased as she rebundled herself for the cold outside. "Come on, let's not keep Aina and Yuri waiting."

Bracing herself for it, Xion followed the two Dark Realm Natives out into the snow. She quickly scanned the rooftops for the castle, catching sight of it a moment later. It was odd looking, in the Replica's mind, as it seemed to be bits and pieces of a regular castle, with most of it made up or reinforce by ice. A central tower of beuatifully sculpted ice extended up, making the castle visible from just about anywhere in town.

With a direction in mind, Xion set out for the castle.

 

{Xemnas}

Xemnas replayed the meeting with Xion, Zion, Yuri and Aina over in his head, making notes on reactions and things he should avoid in future dealings with them. He would have to be more careful in future, if he wanted the plan to continued as intended. He also considered the need to move some of the more sensitive equipment to a new locations. Doubtless, the competition would know of this location, so it might be best to do more research else where, while leaving this place open for meetings with the Lights.

His thoughts were intrupted by another visitor. The Superior turned to see Saix standing a few feet away, his face impassive.

"Are you recovered enought for field operations?" Xemnas asked.

"Indeed." Saix answered, short and to the point as ever.

The Luna Diviner looked like his normal emotionless self, but Xemnas could detect a trace amount of apprehension in the Berserker's eyes.

"His encountered with Lacuna must have effected him more then I thought." The Superior thought.

"Then I will need you to keep an eye on some of the Lights." Xemnas ordered. "They might come across items and people we can make use of."

Saix nodded.

"Speaking of which." He said, placing an object next to Xemnas on the computer terminal. "Your outside agent said this would be useful."

Xemnas stared at the item for several seconds before speaking.

"Why?" He asked.

"Didn't say." Saix answered. "I'm just passing it along."

With that, The Luna Diviner disappeared in a swirl of darkness. Xemnas stared at the Wayfinder for a it longer before picking it up.

Tyler looks at Ventus and nods, as Master Thomas, Xterly, Karen, and Tom do the same. "Yeah, we're okay..." Said Tyler, talking to Ventus. Karen looks around the castle, studying it as she tried to think about what to do. Xterly looks around for any enemies, as he would strike down any Heartless that would come upon him and his friends' path. Master Thomas is seen next to Xterly, folding his arms as he looks around.

Zion blushed. "I'd prefer Princess, to be honest...I always wanted to be a princess." She quickly ran after Xion, nearly falling behind in a daydream. "But just call me Zion!"

-Nomreally. Please do. I'd prefer her not all giddy at being a Princess.- Sione muttered as Zion drew alongside Xion.

 

"To the castle then?"

Xavvic retuned, collapsing to bent knee. "What..." Xavvic felt the darkness was stronger than usual. "...She's not far..." Xavvic said, regaining composure. "Let's go..." He collapsed, and coughed blood.

{Astra}"Everyone okay?" Ven asked. "Everybody here?""Yeah, we're okay..." Said Tyler,"Same..." Astra said while looking at Xavvic. "But I can't say the same about him."The silver haired boy walked next to Xavvic and shook his head before reaching his hand out, a faint green glow on it from casting a healing spell."You should be more careful and don't strain yourself that much. Try to be under control the next time we have to fight, if not, then you're dangerous"Astra finished his spell and turned around."Not only for yourself or our enemies." he said while walking away. "But for us as well. "The boy in the black coat was looking around trying to find the location of the Princess of Heart."There is a distortion around here that won't let me pinpoint the Princess's location." he thought to himself.{Yuri and Ainari}Aina noticed how Yuri was lost in thought."Hey...um...are you alright?" she asked. "Something bothering you?"Yuri shook her head lightly, but remained silent and without looking at her companion."You need to stop being like that and you know it Yuri" Aina said, rubbing her arms. "It won't do you any good:""I'm fine. You don't have to worry about anything." Yuri answered. "I'm just worried about Astra. Who knows what he is doing right now."The girl in black remained silent, sure, she knew that Yuri had a crush on Astra, she even had a few small squabbles about that subject with her, but nothing serious. It was more rare to have Yuri being all silent when normally she was the hyper one from the group. Aina then walked next to Yuri and held her hand."What are you?""It's alright" she said before smiling. "I am sure he is fine. We just need to make sure to complete this task and sooner or later we are going to be at his side again."Yuri chuckled and looked back to see if Xion and Zion where there. When she noticed them a small way behind them she looked at Aina and smiled."Don't you think those two are...you know?" Yuri asked with a smirk on her face. "Something tells me that this is going to be quite fun, I guess only time will tell. Oh and...thanks Aina...I know we don't get along very well, but...thanks."Aina looked puzzled, but smiled nonetheless."It's alright. Now that you're back to normal we should focus on getting to that castle." she said while pointing at the castle in the distance. "I'm sure that is our current destination and were the princess should be."

{Ventus}

Ven ran to Xavvic's side after the boy collapsed. He added a little healing to Astra's, hoping that Xavvic would respond favorably.

"I don't think Mercy's here." He said, looking up briefly at his allies. "Lacuna's playing with us. Even when she pretended to help us with Xehanort, she made us jump through hoops. She won't make the prize easy to get."

He looked down to check on Xavvic when a thought struck him.

"Wait. That portal that appeared and healed Maleficent. Maybe that's where they really are."

He looked around the group.

"Does anybody think they can track it?"

Ven again looked down at Xavvic.

"You feeling better?" He asked, anxiously.

 

{Xion}

Xion giggled slightly.

"Okay, Zion it is then." She teased slightly.

She turned away from Zion so that the princess wouldn't see the fearful look in the replica's eyes. She had lost everyone she knew. She didn't want to lose any of her new friends.

"Never again." She muttered to herself as she looked ahead to the castle.

As Xion trudged through the snow, occasionally detouring through empty houses, she considered Aina and Yuri. Their siding with Xemnas worried and angered her. She didn't have a handle on them, so didn't understand their motives or behavior. But, they seemed to be on her side.

"What would Sora do here?" She thought wistfully.

As the group got closer to the castle, the more it was obvious that it was a mostly ruined castle added on to and strengthened by ice.

"Is this the princess's doing?" Xion wondered aloud.

With nothing left but a broken, but still functional, bridge between the party and the entrance to the castle, Xion stepped out on the bridge. Almost immediately, the snow swirled suddenly, forming two large forms. Two massive snowmen with ice claws and teeth were build out of thin air, their first action was to snarl at Xion, Yuri, Zion and Aina.

"Leave!" One bellowed.
