How To Create Keyblades...

Recommended Posts

Guys, this is a real life and personal thread, get serious.

here's a wikihow page: http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Kingdom-Hearts-Keyblade

another tutorial page as well: http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-make-a-Keyblade-from-Kingdom-Hearts-Cheap/

Check youtube as well, they have some good videos, and remember, Google can be your best friend if you are looking in the right places.

*Random Mode Activated* You must have a pure heart and the keyblade will choose you. You can also obtain the keyblade by performing an inheritance ceremony with the Keyblade Master.

With the smiles of children.

The man speaks words of wisdom.....but if you want it the "easy" way, then you need foam glue, pvc pipes, styrofoam, paint, duct tape, chains, other stuff, and a lot of creativity...

Whenever I want to keyblade some people I use

I made a kingdom key for my Halloween costume this year, with a lot of help from a friend.  I got all of my stuff from walmart.  We used a dow rod that was about an inch or so in diameter.  We cut the key part out of craft styrofoam and wrapped it in duct tape so we could paint over it. The gold part of the hilt we used craft foam and wrapped black tennis grip around the handle part.  For the key chain we just cut a piece of chain off of one of those make-your-own jewelry chain necklaces, and the mickey mouse charm we cut out of the craft foam and painted over it, silver.  We painted the gold part of the handle, and we painted the blade/rod and the key silver and painted the blue stripe around the base of the blade/rod.  Here are a couple of pictures they are not that great for a reference but hopefully they will help.

I'll tell you now that wood is going to look the best and last the longest.

You could use that foam they make toy swords out of.

There's always moldable plastic. That could get expensive if you made the whole thing out of it, but would work very nicely if you wanted to make a more intricate ending on a keyblade that is otherwise made of wood.

That's about all i can think of, unless you are in possession of a mold injector, welding tools, or particularly enjoy paper mache.

Well, multitudes of ways. If I recall, there is a program called Pepecura(or something like that) that let's you download/make things like game models and stuff in the space that you can then print out on paper, cut it out, paste it together, then use a plastic hardening spray to make it strong. In order to give that meathod some weight, grab a few wooden rods about as long as the Keyblade, if not longer so you can shorten them, then bind them together with tape or something and place it in the blade/handle if the handle and blade are not blocked off. You can use a wooden frame to do this as well, but if your not good at wooden arts yet I suggest the first option, as often people have made models for the things your lookin for anyway. Spray paint is the best option IMO for coloring. Foams and other things look kinda cheap, but they do the job.

Metalworks is much harder, but the steps for that are in the Man At Arms vid posted earlier.
