Tyren Namikaze 19 Posted November 14, 2013 Somehow.....I got a feeling that he's going to die making a sacrifice or something, then saying some sad stuff like he was glad to have sora and kairi as his friends. Plus, it makes sense for his development as well. What do you guys think?

Varnish 319 Posted November 14, 2013 I believe that he could die in some way at some point in the game, and then be present "in spirit" in some way, if you understand what I mean.
Tyren Namikaze 19 Posted November 14, 2013 I'm not saying he dies forever......maybe like a death that will motivate sora to kill xehanort. Overall, I think he should die ( even though I don't want it) It'll be a good way to finish his story, if you think about it.
Shard the Gentleman 2,891 Posted November 14, 2013 Doubt it. This is a Disney game. Loads of people die in Disney. Even major characters die.Anyways, his death makes the most sense, and would be the most meaningful... but its gonna be sad. 1 Wateraptor reacted to this
TheWayToDawn 775 Posted November 14, 2013 I hope not...... I don't want that to happen, I don't think it will. But if it does I'd probably cry and be so upset
Emrys 3,192 Posted November 15, 2013 If they want to do an emotional hit to the fans gut they might as well kill kairi. Not that I want that to happen.

Master Juan 574 Posted November 15, 2013 (edited) Doubt it. This is a Disney game. He could pull a Master Eraqus and just kinda of chill in the background no screen time after his "death" whatsoever. That's the closest Disney's gotten to death (in KH at least). Edited November 15, 2013 by Master Juan
Samantha Dominis 25 Posted November 15, 2013 I said this before with the thread about Kairi dying I'll just copy and paste it here. I seriously doubt that any of the main protagonists will die unless it is the end of the whole KH series, and even then there is a pretty slim chance it will happen especially to the main trio. The only times I have seen or read about a main character dying is when movie/book/tv show series is at the end. If you think about any series that you have finished the writer/author never kills off any of the main characters until the very end. I would give some examples but I'm afraid to spoil anything for anybody.

Honestly there has been a lot of sadness/ pain already .I want more happy endings especially in wrapping up this saga. Xehanort is the only one I hope dies for good bc he deserves it . 1 Master Juan reacted to this
rikunobodyxiii 700 Posted November 15, 2013 While I'm not in favor of the idea, Riku's death is a possibility. I have to agree that a heroic sacrifice would fit with his character growth. As for the argument that "it is a Disney Game, so no deaths", I would like to draw your attention to Master Eraqus.

In order to become a nobody, one's heart must have been lost to darkness originally, creating a heartless. Then, the remains of that person become a nobody. As for death, it hasn't really occurred yet, so no one really knows the specifics behind that. Dave 5,715 Posted November 15, 2013 Character death for the sake of character death is not good storytelling. Riku's character arc makes more sense if he's forced to live with his decisions, and try to piece his life back together. There are other ways to create drama that might even be more powerful. 3 Zola, Keyblader and PillowHead reacted to this

As for the argument that "it is a Disney Game, so no deaths", I would like to draw your attention to Master Eraqus. I am very skeptical to call that a death, considering Eraqus' heart was confirmed to be inside Terranort. If that were the case, then Sora, Kairi, and many others would have to be considered 'dead' at one point. Now, I do believe Maleficent is a viable candidate for being dead at one point in the KH plot, but I can't weigh much on it. As for the topic, it's as plausible as Sora growing 7 feet tall and going Mario style on the heartless. That isn't to say it is unlikely, in fact, I think it represents that almost anything is plausible at this point. Do I think it will? I really don't know. Do I want it to? Not really.
