Dave 5,715 Posted November 12, 2013 Something just occurred to me about fighting Jafar in his genie mode in KH1 and 2. Rule number 1 of being a genie is that he can't kill anyone. So, really, Sora really has nothing to worry about. 4 Zola, Kello, Reyn and 1 other reacted to this

When it's game over, you are shown with your heart taken out, and in the KH universe, that doesn't mean death. 2 Col.Random and Kello reacted to this
pomegranate93 0 Posted November 12, 2013 It's true. One of the flaws (in my opinion) is that no character really dies. It takes quite a bit of the weight off the story.
Hero of Light XIV 2,381 Posted November 12, 2013 It's true. One of the flaws (in my opinion) is that no character really dies. It takes quite a bit of the weight off the story. Not really. I think it holds just as much impact. The mere idea of being turned into a Heartless or becoming completely forgotten by yourself and everyone is pretty close to being dead, and wandering through the Realm of Darkness could be comparable to wandering through the lands of Hell. In fact, we should be expecting Aqua's Inferno any day now... 2 Kaweebo and anime10121 reacted to this

advfox 698 Posted November 12, 2013 (edited) When you lose all of your HP in Kingdom Hearts, Sora simply has his heart ripped out of his body on the continue screen. That does not cause or relate to death in any way. Edited November 12, 2013 by Rush

That does not cause or relate to death in any way. It ends up happening in canon, anyway.

TheOriginalBob 110 Posted November 12, 2013 lol I'm reminded of a line from the movie 'The Return of Jafar' in regards to Genie Jafar not being able to kill anyone "You'd be surprised what you can live through" Still quite unpleasant. As for no one dying in the Kingdom Hearts universe, what about Master Eraqus? Was he not "struck down?"
