BlackAceZero777 77 Posted November 10, 2013 I understand that Dive Into The Heart happens only for people who are destined to be Keyblade Welders, but why does it happen to them in a dream? And why does it always have them falling into an ocean to their hearts? I think I need to rephrase the question: What is Dive Into The Heart exactly? And why does it always have them falling into an ocean to their hearts? I think I need to rephrase the question: What is Dive Into The Heart exactly? It's basically a person mentally entering the heart. The Keyblade is forged and is given to those who make certain choices, as well as given to those brave enough to fight the darkness, and in the Dive you always make a decision and fight the darkness within you, conquer it, and show you're ready to face the darkness. In lamens terms, I think it's a test of your heart's mettle, in a sense.

Kaweebo 3,617 Posted November 10, 2013 Speaking of that, something bothers me. In Kingdom Hearts II, at the World That Never Was, Roxas shows up to fight Sora. You could say that that was in Sora's mind, but then Sora gets sent to the Dive to the Heart to duel with him. Once he wins, he comes back and Goofy says he 'disappeared'. So what was that, then? If Dive to the Heart is manifested in a person's dreams...did Sora get sent to his dreams?

That actually could've been a hint at Dream Drop Distance...Or he could've been sent to his dreams....To physically fight Roxas for control...
Dave 5,715 Posted November 11, 2013 I've always been under the impression that it happens in a dream, because the dream-like state is pretty central to the point of Kingdom Hearts. You can't really come to grips with the emotions and feelings in your heart while still operating under concious thought, so the only way to get to the, if you'll pardon the pun, heart of the problem is to go after it in your subconscious. It sort of plays on the idea that things like love and emotion are irrational thoughts, much like dreams. 2 Col.Random and Zola reacted to this
