Noobles 301 Posted November 3, 2013 First off before I begin, you can call me crazy, you can call me stupid, and you can call me whatever. I don't care. I just want to know what I can do to stop being depressed I get depressed for some of the slightest things. It's strange and weird while I personally don't understand why I get depressed but I just feel unhappy and always under the gloom. My parents are very strict so it's hard to play games to feel happy. Either way, I don't know how to combat this constant depression. Lately it seems to be getting 'denied' in a way. I sent some applications to numerous things such as Internships, Anime Admin Pages, Administration Assistance and so forth. All of them have been denied and it has really made me look myself as a failure and a downer. I don't know what to do and I keep trying to send applications but they seem to keep being pushed back. What makes me more upset and angry is many unqualified people are getting in when I look at the public application. The reason I say that is under the explanation and experience, it's at a minimum or nothing. I spent some time writing a valid compassionate reason and have some experience to show. So that's probably a factor for being sad. Any way to stop being upset other than to stop what I'm doing? I'm gonna keep doing what I want to do by sending applications in hopes of getting into internships and running administrations but what should I do to combat the depression until hopefully something happens? Like is there any natural ways to not feel upset in that heart/chest? Or what should I do. Help please? It probably doesn't make sense and I'm sorry. 1 Zola reacted to this

Zola 3,038 Posted November 3, 2013 I feel the same way all the time. You're at a big turning point in your life, and it's hard to get onto the tracks that will take you in the direction you want to go, especially when there's a lot of competition. You just have to keep trying. I know that you're an intelligent fellow with a lot of drive, and that you've already done some pretty amazing things with your life. Just keep your chin up and do everything you can to buff up your credentials even more, and you're sure to go places. As for the depression, you're not alone there. I you ever want to vent, I would love to listen. It helps to talk about it once in a while. And on a bit of a side note, if you don't go outside much, maybe try taking vitamin D supplements. That alone has worked wonders for me. Keep being awesome!

CrownKeeper13 688 Posted November 3, 2013 You will think i'm kidding here, but this is what I do when i'm down: I stand in front of a mirror and just admire myself. Clothes are optional. Doing that has legit cooled me down and pumped me up a lot before. It works, try it.

Caity 3,946 Posted November 3, 2013 Stop seeking answers on the internet and get properly diagnosed and assessed by a medical professional, you could start with just talking to your GP and they could assign you a specialist to deal with the problem or medication if you prefer. If you are seriously, truly depressed and not just feeling down (which I know at times it can feel like actual depression) you need real help from someone qualified who knows how to deal with the illness. If you aren't actually depressed and just feeling down or disheartened, you can entertain yourself with things that make you happy or talk to people. Generally I find one key difference if you start looking for the signs of real depression is that you purposely avoid doing things you know you would enjoy or make you happy, because you think you either won't have fun anyway or aren't worth it. Oh boy, wait until you get into the working world lol. Your age could have something to do with it. I don't know how old you are though. Anyone at any age for any reason can get depression. It's a chemical imbalance within the body. I was always depressed as a teen. Always. The only thing that helped with video games and writing and reading. Friends didn't help much, family didnt help much, school was torture for me. I still get depressed sometimes, but so far I've been doing really well. It just happens and it's normal. Don't worry too much about it. It'll pass
