Larxy 31 Posted October 11, 2013 Did you ever noticed that Kairi thinks something during the ending of Kingdom Hearts I, when she's looking at the stars from the beach of Destiny Islands? Here's the video, go to 1.57: http://kh13.com/videos/kh/jap-cut/3-ending/ Why she doesn't speak in the English version? I'm a bit curious now ( Hope this isn't a repost, but I didn't find anything about it ) 1 Zola reacted to this
Kittenz 4,281 Posted October 11, 2013 (edited) She says: "Sora, your feelings have reached me, don't forget it." For some reason it isn't dubbed in the english version, maybe because it would sounded werid in english as aposed to perfectly fine in japanese. Many japanese sentences are hard to translate smoothly into english. Or maybe they forgot to record that one line before Kairi's voice actor left the building? AnHeiressofaSOLDIER 358 Posted October 11, 2013 I don't know, but that's always bothered me, because the ending seems sort of off without it. Like, Sora and Kairi just had this tense conversation, explaining they're always together and will see each other soon. And then, Sora keeps saying Kairi's name as he fades away. It seems like its missing a plot point, in not having Kairi's response to that. Plus, that's one of the few insights into her mind we've ever gotten! -sigh- I really wish it was in the English version. I think it closed things off more nicely that way. 2 Larxy and Kittenz reacted to this
Shard the Gentleman 2,891 Posted October 11, 2013 I think its perfect in the English release. The silence in the scene, IMO boosts the emotional effect. 1 Pingutino reacted to this

Caity 3,946 Posted October 11, 2013 As with everything Western Distributors thought we were too stupid to understand it and would misinterpret it or something, as they always do 1 Kittenz reacted to this
