VanitasisKirby 1,227 Posted August 26, 2012 I guess it might just be of nature. Didn't Ven hold his keyblade backwards when he was being taught by MX? Still under Eraqus' teaching, he held the blade backwards, so maybe Ven prefers to hold it that way. I really dunno
Aqua7KH 5,395 Posted August 26, 2012 Because he like's to wield it backwards? It's just his style and he like's to wield it backwards. It's just his thing. Everyone has their own way of wielding a blade and their own way of fighting with it. Just think of Ventus as a jedi who wields his lightsaber backwards. Xian Cano 78 Posted August 26, 2012 (edited) he just wants to I guess... He was born This Way! but I also think this was intentionally made so people wouldn't confuse Ventus with Roxas and vice a verca lol Edited August 26, 2012 by Xian Cano
Rob 5,571 Posted August 26, 2012 Well, considering the 1st time he summoned his keyblade and it looked like that.......he kinda had no choice.
DG20 67 Posted August 26, 2012 Somewhere on the bbs tv tropes page it was mentioned that holding the keyblade backwards means the movement comes first. So it goes along with Ven being a lightning bruiser (quick movement, quick attacks).
Kishira 2,854 Posted August 26, 2012 Better question. Why didn't they keep him a lefty? WE NEED LEFTIES IN THE SERIES, SQUARE.
Caity 3,946 Posted August 27, 2012 I think it's just a matter of preference, though if MX does so he probably imitated his master while he was apprenticing under him. It suits him ^.^ Also it's much easier to hold easpons in the grip he does. It's so much easier to stab someone with force holding a knife towards and swishing down instead of holding it like a sword upwards, you're more likely to miss then. (did I just take a somewhat morbid turn?)

WakelessDream 2,280 Posted August 27, 2012 I really think he holds his keyblade backwards because MX taught him a backhand stance while he took Ventus in as his pupil, like before Ven joined with Terra, Aqua, and Eraqus in Land of Departure.
Epic KH Fan_13 64 Posted August 27, 2012 Better question. Why didn't they keep him a lefty? WE NEED LEFTIES IN THE SERIES, SQUARE. PerseusRad 1 Posted August 28, 2012 As said before, he probably holds ot backwards because either that is how he is comfortable or that is how MX taught him. Or the crazy theory: He is Mulan's brother.
PublicLibraryx 55 Posted August 28, 2012 (edited) lol. if you look closely on KHII so does mulan oh... someone already said that.,. nvm Edited August 28, 2012 by PublicLibraryx
KyleSnyder 5 Posted August 29, 2012 Like everyone said, different Keyblade warriors have different styles. The same can be said for all of us. I guarantee not everyone would have the same battle stance or same way of holding a Keyblade. Some would hold it like Terra and Aqua, some would hold it like Eraqus (I know because the stance Eraqus uses is the same one I use when swordfighting), some would hold it like Sora, some would hold it like Riku, and then there are the few that would hold it like Ventus. It just adds diversity to character style in the series.
roxas98 5 Posted December 12, 2012 I think it's where the handle of his Keyblade is curved on one side, if im correct i think it's like that to make stronger attacks like hitting the enemy
Hazimie 1,595 Posted December 12, 2012 Everyone have their own style of fighting, and that is what makes it special. ^_^
OthersiderME 614 Posted December 12, 2012 It seems like a lot of people justify his style because of how his Keyblade is designed. Wouldn't your fighting style determine how your Keyblade was designed, since it's created based on you?
