Pokemon Origin: Hinting at Red's role in X and Y?

Recommended Posts

Red having a Mega-evolved Charizard in Pokemon Origins must link in somehow with the new games. It would be beyond awesome if Red was either a) the champion, and uses his Mega-Charizard along with other Pokemon b ) a special trainer fight like his role in Gold/Silver or c) the first trainer to discover Mega Evolution.

I'm excited to see what they will do. Releasing this information two weeks before the games release (that the revised Red character has a Mega Pokemon) must mean that he links in with the plot somehow. And since Game Freak have previously said that Mega Evolution only works in the Kalos region....Red MUST have reached Kalos in his search for Mewtwo (another Pokemon with Mega Evolutions that is featuring in the anime series). This is gonna be epic. GOTY.

Red will likely be back, he's been in every generation. I'm curious about how they'll do it though, he's the best Pokemon trainer out there. :D

When was he in Gen 3 and 4?

But I totally think he'll be back because why not? He's my favorite trainer visually because he's just amazing and he's the strongest trainer in HG which is the only time I battled him and it was awesome but yeah he should totally be in anything possible for Pokemon because he's awesome

No, no and no. If he has a chance of appearing it would be in something similar to the World Tournament. He's not going to be the Champion or a special boss at all. Besides he uses a stone given to him to Mega evolve Charizard, he's didn't discover it.

Don't crush my dream : I don't believe in coincidence, and them releasing this anime a few weeks before X and Y must mean something... Or not. I could be totally wrong but I prefer to believe :P

FireRed/LeafGreen is technically Gen III, and HeartGold/SoulSilver is technically Gen IV, since they run off of those respective engines and feature Pokemon up to those gen's games.

Who knows

He's the original champion of the franchise and who knows, maybe he'll go to Kalos to search for the secret of Mega Evolution

And he gave up that title while he trains in Mount Silver. He isn't going to go back to becoming the Champion, and IF he does it would be in the Kanto Region. Also we already have a character doing that, Professor Sycamore.

The Origin was going to come out in Japan to probably broadcast and raise hype with the new Megalution for Charizard.

Not to mention their leagues occur at the same time, hence why the Red Gyarados mentioned right at the beginning of DiamondPearlPlatinum

True, I didn't even think of that. They've gone back to Kanto in every gen except V then. But he was at the world tournament thing

Maybe Red will help us against Team Flare.

Maybe not as a champion, but he can help in double battles against them

I highly doubt that will happen.

I doubt that too. The idea I think is most realistic is a sub-plot after the Elite Four which is you and Red tracking down Mewtwo, which involves a battle with Red to decide who is worthy to battle Mewtwo.

Yep. Let's see how it'll work with Gen VI, they can't just leave him out, especially with all the Gen I love in X/Y.

Wait,

I;m watching a sub version of Pokemon origins and

SPOILERS

MR FUJI GAVE RED THE MEGA STONE....WHICH ARE USED FOR MEGA EVOLUTION

So,does that mean Mr Fuji is the one who discovered Mega Evolution???

It'll make sense since he worked in the Pokemon Mansion and might've created the Mega stones from Mew's DNA(which contains samples pf all Pokemon except the creation trio and Arceus)
