RPG Site have conducted an interview with the executive producer and composer of the Kingdom Hearts series, Shinji Hashimoto and Yoko Shimomura. Here, they discuss the production and music of Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX. Most of this we've heard before, but it is always interesting to get some new details about the insight behind the game! One interesting thing asked was about the possibility of a Kingdom Hearts II HD, and of HD collections for the Xbox. We've copied this question and its response below, with thanks to RPG Site.

RPG Site: If Kingdom Hearts II HD was ever considered down the line, it would obviously help bridge the gap ahead of Kingdom Hearts III on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. 1.5 has only seen release on PlayStation 3 - but could Xbox owners ever see a HD version to help prepare them for the next title hitting their platform of choice?

 

Hashimoto: I've been asked so many times about this! I need to ask one in return -- would you like to see the games on Xbox?

RPG Site: I'm personally already familiar with the games on PlayStation, but obviously there are a lot of Xbox owners in the West, especially the UK and North America, who won't be. It may seem like something of a dodging answer, but I just see it as an area of the market that might currently be missed - even if it wouldn't effect me personally.

Hashimoto: [chuckles and nods] Thank you for explaining. We'll continue to consider this prospect.

I think Square should focus on other projects than porting an already released game to the Xbox just because some people got a 360 over a PS3.

I love both my Xbox and Playstation consoles, so i would be all for it! They are currently missing out on so much money. I don't see why people are such closed-minded dickheads about it, if you don't own an xbox, whatever , it won't affect YOU anyway.

Fool. If they are going to release KH3 for the Xbox, then the remixes should be for Xbox too. The point of the remixes was to get people ready for KH3.

As much as I'm a Sony Fanboy at heart I say give them KH 2.5 on Xbox 360 because regardless of your console preference everyone one should be able to play at least 1 Kingdom Hearts game at home except for WiiU because it hasn't proved itself....not yet that is

Gotta agree, I prefer the 360 most of the time. It doesn't take 5 hours to view achievements. But anyway, that'd be really cool!

For now for some (or many) people it does, but as time goes, it'll be the norm, just like (almost) everything else.

Funny you say that because my Playstation 3 takes a mere second to load up achievements for every single game.I'm not a fanboy because I actually grew up with the xBox but prefer Playstation. Even though Kingdom Hearts III is coming to XBOX ONE, I will not be surprised if Playstation 4 gets some sort of exclusitivity relating to Kingdom Hearts III.

I'd prefer Kingdom Hearts to be on PlayStation and only PlayStation. It would look strange to see HD collections being played on XBOX since Kingdom Hearts has never ever touched XBOX in any way until now with Kingdom Hearts III. So now that we know Kingdom Hearts III is coming for XBOX ONE then it makes sense to release those HD collections on XBOX 360 also.
