whats the big deal about no marvel and star wars in kingdom hearts 3?

Recommended Posts

Anime style characters and classic disney characters with...super heroes? And jedi?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH you're joking, right?

Seriously, though, it should stick with disney made property and square made property not disney owned property or square owned property.

But it should really stick with classic disney and final fantasy, the way its supposed to be. Twewy is OK because its made by nomura and still had that "final fantasy" feel to it. I love star wars and marvel, but they need to stay far, far away from kingdom hearts.

If you've ever been to a good comic book store you know that they separate the manga and the comic books, why? BECAUSE THEY DON'T MIX , because THEY ARE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT IN GENRE. Classic disney and the anime style of final fantasy do mix, for many reasons, like how the eyes of snow white etc are influenced by the big eyes in anime.

If you put owned and not made properties, you may as well put lara croft and deux ex in there as well. Why get even madder and add call of duty since square published it? Honestly its a bad idea. Unfortunately, however, Nomura is one of those people that love author appeal. If he likes it he will put in because hes bat shit crazy. And while i want to say "nomura can make whatever he wants" there is a point where there is too much author service.

Pirates of the Caribbean and Tron Legacy. Not really classics.

I don't hate Star Wars (a lot of people would assume you wouldn't want it cause you despite it), I just don't think it's Disney.  They acquired the company but it doesn't make their past movies Disney Movies, and it's always been a Disney + FF conglomeration.

Reasons I don't like the idea :

1. Luke and Sora are both chosen ones.  There can only be one chosen one.

2. As said they aren't Disney Movies, they don't give me the feel of a Disney Movie, they are now just be released by Disney and marketed by them

3. The weapons are obviously very similar to Xemnas' ethereal blades

4. I personally don't think a Darth boss would be interesting and fun for ME personally to play.

5. A light saber keyblade will still be very similar to a key, with just glowing blades, I feel we already got that effect with The Grid and Space Paranoids effects

6. They both have very similar themes, too similar, Light V Dark, Apprenticeships and Masters, Lust for dark powers, and obviously both Sora and Luke being similar

7. I don't think Live action films meld well into the series.  Space Paranoids and Pirates of the Caribbean felt weird, the characters can blend more easily into a story with cartoon characters, honestly Sora and Co stood out for badly in Port Royal you wonder why they weren't hung for witchcraft

8. I don't want Sora needing outside forces from secondary worlds affecting him throughout the game

9. There are a lot of Disney worlds that have yet to be used as well as Pixar, who've made films with Disney and so have more of a Disney feel

That being said, I'd rather Disney and Pixar worlds in KH3, but further down the line after they've used a lot more Disney Worlds I wouldn't mind seeing it then, but right now I think the spot of a world in KH3 should be reserved for original KH worlds, Disney Worlds and Pixar worlds before they think of using acquired companies movies.    I'd actually be pretty pissed if Star Wars was chosen over a Pocahontas world, I've been waiting that for ages.

Simply put.  They are too similar, marvel and star wars are NOT true Disney, they are just acquired by Disney, what would Sora be expected to do in a world of superheros with incredible powers with a magic key, it is undeserving of being in KH3 when there are so many other unused worlds and I'm sure plenty of old worlds that'd be an appearance.  Now, considering Nomura is a fan, i'm sure if Disney secured the rights at one point or another he would include it, but EA holds the rights to make all Star Wars games, and rights are expensive, it wouldn't benefit EA in any way to give permission for free and I can't see Disney forking over a load of cash to include one single world in a game that has rights to their own movies.  And let's not even try to kid ourselves that SE could afford the rights.

Pirates of the Caribbean and Tron Legacy. Not really classics.

I think they were referring to games made/released under the title of Disney, as PoTC and Tron Legacy are, not titles that have been "possessed" through acquisition

I was, in fact, talking about things made by disney. I know i threw the word ''classic'' around but what i was trying to say was that it should stay with things square and disney make themselves, NOT things they possess but had no involvement in writing the story or making the characters etc. I just don't think kingdom hearts and star wars/marvel would mesh very well. Kingdom hearts isn't based in real life or in some super futuristic environment. Its fantasy in the same way many anime are.

It's because there is room for better, more deserving worlds. The Star Wars story would clash with the KH story I think since both take place in a universe where different worlds can be traveled too. And Marvel just seems too realistic for me, unless if they made it comic book style like they did with Winnie the Pooh.

hold on, back the hell up for a second. so star wars traveling between different planets would be a problem, but it's completely fine when lilo and stitch do it(BBS)

yes and that still doesn't change the fact that it's already been done in the franchise and isn't an excuse

I don't think you know the story... The protagonist of Star Wars is aware of other worlds existing and has the ability to travel to them. Do I need to explain how that already is a bad idea to mix with Kingdom Hearts? Also Sora and Luke are both "chosen ones".. And Lilo and Stitch is completely different from Star Wars

I get your point, but Kingdom Hearts is about breaking the barriers of genre and exceeding people's expectations. Most post didn't think that Final Fantasy+Disney would work, but now it is one of the most prolific RPG series. I think they should consider including Star Wars and/or Marvel. With the right art style it would work... They both feature similar themes to do with friendship and overcoming darkness, so they would just need to choose an aesthetic that works for KH. The animation style of Clone Wars comes to mind for a Star Wars world (they could have a Monstro-like world which is a Death Star that ambushes you). And Western cartoons could work, possibly one which is based on the Avengers. Personally I think that DC would fit better, but Disney doesn't own that (yet). I'm not sure if they would be able to use Spiderman or Xmen since Disney doesn't own the cinematic rights to either but either way they should leave both Star Wars and Marvel for the next series though, and have KH3 just be about Disney and Original worlds and one or two Pixar ones.

Honestly I think star wars would be EPIC!!!! and I hate star wars but really come on if they can make it work who cares... now there's marvel I don't care if it's in kh3 or not and I can't really see it be in kh3 but if its done right idc and Pixar would just be epicness!!!!! Stop with the hate it's annoying I have no problem with these worlds being in kingdom hearts 3 and stop with well in the next saga I would be fine with it that's makes no sense come on people. Bring on the haters!!!!!!

Finally! Someone who agrees with me :). Sorry, it's just that i'm a bit irritated by the people who don't want my two favorite things into my favorite game.

Almost every main and sub-main character in Lilo and Stitch also knows that other planets exists. And they do have spaceships to travel to them. Not saying Star wars would be a good world, but Star Wars isn't the only Disney owned series that has multiple amount of planets

Ok but Star Wars takes place in an entire galaxy/universe how would you put that into one world, considering kingdom hearts takes place in one galaxy as wellAnd in lilo and stitch how many different worlds did you go to

Well they didn't show any worlds (but they got on an asteroid), but I know Jumba is from Kweltikwan/Quelte Quan. Most of the time when they are in space they are usually on a spaceship. So story-wise they went to other planets. Also if you watched any trailers of Lilo & Stitch or watched specific the show, they would have confrontations with many other Disney Series and Movies (ex. Aladdin, Recess, Kim Possible, etc which I found funny.)

Yea that was funny I remember the show, but in the game they didn't go to other worlds. So I don't see how Star Wars would be possible staying on one ship or one world without cutting the story short and making it cheesy

Well Lilo & Stitch's first world was Deep Space which in inside space (doesn't make any sense). So maybe if they make a Star Wars world (which I wouldn't like), maybe they'll somehow put all the worlds of Star Wars into its own gigantic world. I mean does Agrabah even make sense of being its own world even though it's a city?

The way I saw Lilo and stitch was it took place like you know how monstro was just kinda floating around in space? That's what their ship was doing. As for agrabah I think the entire world is there but since it is a ps2 game when we first saw it they could only include a small area. It shows the desert and is going to the one cave so I'm sure every other area is accessible outside of the "game"

wormhole, they could just easily thorw in a wormhole

also kingdom hearts isn't it's own galaxy, every single world in kingdom hearts is a fragment of a planet.

A galaxy is "a system of millions or billions of stars, together with gas and dust, held together by gravitational attraction."I'm saying the game kingdom Hearts takes place in a galaxy. If it doesn't then where would it be? We live in the solar system which is in the Milky Way Galaxy. There are planets in the Solar System. Why can't there be planets in this kh galaxy? And I don't see how a wormhole would work still. Edited by Lalalablah
