Well I'm not exactly sure if there are, but it's mainly to ask if people go with the easiest mode, normal or hard. What changes is the name they give in the games, but it's always like that.

I usually go for a harder difficulty.

I usually play a game on easy to enjoy the story.  Then if I really like the game I might go back and play it on a harder difficulty.

If it's a new series that I'm getting into (or in the case of SMT games that are insanely hard even on the easiest difficulty), I'll start off with Normal. If it's an entry and I kind of know what to expect, I'll usually go for the harder difficulty.

First play through I always do normal difficulty and then on a replay I do the hardest difficulty. I've only done the easiest difficulty on a couple of games a couple of times when doing speed things but I don't like how easy they are

Exactly. And I've played games without even higher level difficulties, but they are usually blocked off until you beat hard. So these three are usually the starting three. Yet, I have seen super easy.
