juma086 263 Posted September 13, 2013 I just finished Halloween Town and the wrath of proud mode started to kick in. I was breezing through this game until I got up to the Wight Knights. Those things are actually 2 hitting me and I have to heal EVERY TIME I get hit. I keep dying with like 60% health because of how much damage I'm taking from these things. Whats even worse was the Oogie's Mansion boss battle. UGGGHHHH. WORST. PLATFORMING. IN THE GAME. This game is awesome and everything, but you can't deny that the platforming is annoying at that part. There are very little flat surfaces and I kept sliding off of things. Doesn't make it easier that the stupid ghosts and fireballs that Oogie shoots at you made it even worse. Especially since the fireballs REALLY hurt, and you could fall off. I actually had to stop playing for the day, because I know Atlantica is next, which I also hate. Hollow Bastion is going to kick my ass, haha. Are you guys feeling dat Proud burn yet? 1 Reyn reacted to this
Hero of Winds 2,576 Posted September 13, 2013 Though I'm just now getting into those visits, I have Gravity, Aero, and Cure set to my quick use magic and my next level up: LV 27 gives me Leaf Bracer. I've been grinding a lot too. That and I let Donald and Goofy use items because it's necessary for our survival that they have something on them. I also use Sonic Blade for the too many hard hitter spawns.
Queen Tery 4,591 Posted September 13, 2013 I started feeling it a bit more around Agrabah. But still not AWFUL. I just started Monstro. I believe I will finish the game by Sunday.

Hollow Bastion is going to kick my ass, haha. Are you guys feeling dat Proud burn yet? TWO hits? wtf? They would be able to kill me in like 7 or 8...But I took the smart path by choosing the shield. I had both Leaf Bracer and Second Chance by Halloween Town. I'm already at Hallow Bastion and I only got to a continue screen twice in the entire playthrough. So nope, no burn. It would have only been once, but I underestimated the new Sniper Wild heartless...They are the most annoying pieces of shits. I made a thread on here a couple days before the game came out expressing the extreme importance of Leaf Bracer and Second chance. And by getting the shield it more than doubles your def. Told ya' so...lol Edited September 13, 2013 by Raziel 1 Hero of Winds reacted to this
JayReaper 27 Posted September 13, 2013 Im honestly pretty sure I have only died during a few boss battles and I just sealed the keyhole to hollow bastion. I can't say idied once in Halloween town. What I did was go back to Traversetown after every world to stock up on potions and what not, but I would also grind a few levels per visit to make sure I was always ahead of the game. Oh and picking the shield is a big help.

Dun listen to him, this is what I've done and I've done nothing but keep the burn away by being way too OP against Heartless. By LV 30, you should have Leaf Bracer and possibly Second Chance or Once More, can't remember which one. It's recommended that you choose the Dawn answers to the questions (First answer on each). You'll level up quickly and be safe for the majority of your playthrough. 1 Reyn reacted to this

DAMN 80 Posted September 14, 2013 Abuse Elemental Magic(seriously most enemies have elemental weaknesses)...go synthesize shit on Traverse Town...buy gear...whatever...something will work out eventually I actually got to that part with the final oogie battle but some guests arrived and I couldn't play it anymore...Im level 30-something...maybe 36 or 37 not sure Use Spellbinder(that you get from Merlin) for 2 extra MP Bars(you're gonna need this for healing so you don't waste potions all the frigging time...though you do have to equip some ethers) Right now I have 7 MP Bars and that's becuz I'm using the Keyblade Ariel gave me...if I use the Spellbinder i get 8 MP Bars but i decide to use the one Ariel gave me for some extra strength...besides 7 MP Bars are more than enough

DAMN 80 Posted September 14, 2013 It's eaaaaasy until you fight Yuffie and Leon. Then it becomes eaaaaaasy again. Yeah i died there...I think I can beat them tho...just need to level up some more The annoying part is you have to do all the battles before Yuffie and Leon over and over again if you keep losing vs them

I had to skip them and come back after a couple worlds. The funny thing is though, I only got to an actual continue screen a few times in the entire game, and only one of them was on a boss. But I came SO CLOSE to death on the final boss fight it wasn't even funny. I had to use like 6 elixers and I only had a couple Hi-Potions left. Holy shit was that intense. I was so damn close to a perfect game to get the trophy. So mad...But oh well, I'll get it on my beginner run anyways if I was able to do THIS good on Proud. KH4Real 749 Posted September 21, 2013 (edited) That is what you get if you start on proud.. You need to train a little while. I'm thinking to start this with evening or midday. If you start on standard you can do without problems defeating cups in colisseum. And follow more of the story. Keyblader 325 Posted September 21, 2013 I'm a bit curious, is Proud Mode more difficult than the original Expert? If so, I guess I'd be a bit crazy to attempt a "Dusk-leveling proud mode" playthrough huh?
DAMN 80 Posted September 22, 2013 (edited) Oh I know, it sucked! lol. I had to skip them and come back after a couple worlds. The funny thing is though, I only got to an actual continue screen 3 times in the entire game, and only one of them was on a boss; the tiger head in Agrabah which I beat easily my second try. And the other two I shouldn't have even gotten. I had no idea the new Sniper Wild were so strong so I died trying to kill them, and somehow a clusterfukc of Dark Balls killed me in Traverse Town. But I came SO CLOSE to death on the final boss fight it wasn't even funny. I had to use like 6 elixers and I only had a couple Hi-Potions left. Holy shit was that intense. Oh lol that comment of mine is old...Leon and Yuffie are a piece of cake now(Cuz of leveling up) Also here's a trick to quickly level up I discovered...just do Hercules Cup over and over again...you get like 6000 exp each time you beat it I have a question tho...I was level 73 last time I played and I was trying to beat Sephiroth but when I hit him it wouldn't even do damage to him(except very rarely and very few damage) how the firetruck do i beat him? Also has anyone in here managed to level up Sora to 100 before leaving DI? I might try it someday...might go crazy Edited September 22, 2013 by DAMN

You gotta get that one down first, then it starts dwindling down his health. I also recommend getting the Ultima Weapon first before you try when under lvl 100. 14 str and 2 MP. I can't wait to get it. But it takes SO LOOOONG....T_T It's definitely the hardest game to get Ultima in. And I doubt getting to lvl 100 on DI would actually even be possible without spending 10 hrs a day for 5 months straight there lol...Not even worth it. You get what, 100 every half hr, if that? The higher lvls would take a nonstop day each for 1 lvl up. Screeeeeew that.

If so, I guess I'd be a bit crazy to attempt a "Dusk-leveling proud mode" playthrough huh? Nope, I don't think so. I only got 3 continue screens in my entire playthrough, and all of them being really early in the game due to not having Second Chance and Leaf Bracer yet. After I got those, I was pretty much unstoppable. It was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be, because 8-9 years ago when I first played KH1, I got my ASS kicked on just regular Standard mode. I probably got a continue screen 30-40 times+...lol. But I didn't know any of the tips or the strategy of any fight so that's probably why, plus I was much younger. Screeeeeew that. firetruck...Ultima is hard to get in this game some of the gems are hard to find On other news I tried beating Xemnas at Hollow Bastion...his freaking pattern is so easy but I can't do damage for shit when I hit him...well I do damage but the fight goes so freaking slow and I eventually die by some mistake(and it takes alot of time to die cuz I have Leaf Bracer and my God like you said that shit is so freaking broken) Well I heard some people that did it...and you can expose some glitches like the Tidus glitch where you can just keep deflecting his attacks and you'll get tech points or deflecting Wakka's Balls without hitting him...I think it can be doable...now Roxas in KH2 on the other hand...holy shit...you can either just fight the Dusks at the Station of Calling over and over again or you can fight the Dusks at Day 3 when DiZ calls you to go to the Mansion you don't go there instead you lap throughout TT fighting dusks cuz they re-appear after you lap(Usual Spot---> Outside Mansion Garden thing--->and then you go back to the Usual Spot by going through Station Heights where there are also Dusks) Now that is insane shit
