Buttercup Camera 229 Posted September 1, 2013 (edited) I've been wanting a PS3 for YEARS and when I got last year... I exploded out of happyness! I got so many new games for it and seeing that the PS3 was able to ebat XBOX 360 on some games, like Tomb Raider got me even happier. A cousin of mine gave me this sweet-game called: 'The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim'. This game is awesome! You can be whatever you want, do whatever you want... everything! I was enjoying myself alot until some lags, crashes, freezings and messed up stuff started to happen'. So I seaarched a solution on the web and I read that turning off the Auto-Save option would speed up the game and it actually work. I never crashed or froze again, but there was still a minor lag on the most populated cities like Riften and Whiterun. And after like 40 hours of gameplay on a character, I saved the game on the entrace of the Whiterun city and when I loaded the game, it FROZE... It really froze! I... I turned off and on the PS3 and it keeps frozing, the music is still giving and the sound effects but it's all back. I can't even exit the game and if I take the CD off it still frozes... So, after 40 painfull-hours-without-stoping-playing are now gone?!... I can't stand this anymore... I really can't! And I found today that the PS3 wasn't made to hanlde such game duo to the fact that everythign you DO... like throwing a carrot on the ground WILL be "remembered" by the game, which will consume a lot of the PS3 memory... XBOX 360 rarely had this issues and only poor PCs and laptops have this problem... there's even MODS to upgrade the game's graphics on the PC... This Is. So. UNFAIR! I love this game, it has been one of the best games I've ever played... but I cant' stand the idea of spending more than 1 day on a char that is now gone.... I can't find the solution of this anywhere... Edited September 1, 2013 by Marcomax
Hero of Winds 2,576 Posted September 1, 2013 (edited) This actually stops happening after awhile, the consoles have to adjust to the amount of space needed to load Skyrim (Actually, the Super Slim doesn't have this problem at all and it works much better on it too). Though the console versions suck either way, they get boring quick. The PC versions have modding and a community that turns it into some ridiculously awesome. I would lvoe to play on the PC to have mdos and stuff. Sadly my laptop is Core 1.3 which is horrible for games and I only have 20GB left... Fool. Play some Kingdom Hearts. It'll make you feel better. Fool. I've finished all KH games I have... and I'm not into the mood. Also, I'm waiting for the 1.

Nathan Hatton 274 Posted September 1, 2013 Make sure you have the latest patch installed. The original version for PS3 was so bug-ridden it became almost unplayable. By the 5th patch, they had fixed most of the original problems.

Try to load your previous file before the one that is crashing and when you have loaded and are in game with that one, load the crashed one, it works on Fallout and Elder Scrolls. And that is why I do prefer PC version, You have mods and barely no crashes with a good RAM. Have yourself a good day now. Fool. Play some Kingdom Hearts. It'll make you feel better. Fool my sweet sweet A$$ Elder Scrolls is different than Kingdom Hearts. Don't compare them, longer storylines, worlds, and also... sandbox?

Oishii 3,987 Posted September 1, 2013 Have you patched with the latest version? I have the original PS3 and 100+ hours on my skyrim save file. I have never had it freeze on me and I even have auto-save on too. I think a lot of those problems were fixed with the patches. But if you have a good PC, that's the best way to go like others have said.
