They didnt re-dub the whole thing, they just dubbed the new parts, and re-used the English voice acting for the parts that were originally cutscenes in the original game.

 

That means, yes guys. Roxas's infamous: "Who will i have Ice Cream with?" line is exactly the same as in the original game. His VA didnt re-record that line to make it sound more meaningful or Square didnt write a better line for Roxas then that, unfortunately. All because Square Enix was too cheap to re-record that scene. DAMN YOU SQUARE.

First of all, the ice cream line was much deeper than how most people see it. Secondly, why'd you expect them to re-dub it? It's not like the VAs are different (As far as I know anyway), they'll just reuse the voices if they can. It saves time and money, that's not being cheap.

I understand how good it is. But i just dislike the line, because i feel like it ruins the moment. I was hoping they'd dub over the whole thing and change that line so it wouldn't ruin the moment like that.

Why would they bother re-dubbing stuff that they already have? There's literally no point to it. That would be counterproductive.

 

The only re-dubbed stuff is DiZ's lines, cuz Chris Lee isn't in the project anymore. Everybody else is the same, so there's no real logic behind re-dubbing anything.

Thats because the game has Pre-Rendered scenes. That cost SOOOOOO MUCH MONEY to change. Just ignore it. Re:COM is the same way. Besides, strangely enough some of the Japanese lip syncing syncs to the English Voice acting. -_O

The Ice cream line was fine. I think I already knew the VAs weren't going to re-dubbed those lines from the cutscenes that were cinematic (except for DiZ's lines). They just dubbed the ones that needed to be dubbed which was the new cutscenes that were those text cutscenes in the DS Version. I don't think Square were being cheap about it.

 

I guess they were trying to make the deadline so the games will be ready for all of us sort of speak?

Well,I've already expected them to do that to fasten the time of recording....otherwise we would've waited until december

 

I'm fine with that as long as it means we'll get the game earlier.And I don't see that much cheapness

 

the MGS collection had the exact same voices from the Ps2PsP versions of the games,same for other collections

in 1.5,they had to rework the entire game of KH1 Final Mix since they've lost some of the old assests,and the work of recording the cutscenes it's not as easy as you think even if it shouldn't took that long

It had nothing to do with who he enjoyed eating ice cream with. All of Roxas memories were ending everyday, eating Sea-salt Ice Cream on top of the Clock Tower with his two best friends. He had already lost Axel as he left the Organization and now he was losing Xion, leaving him no one to share his memories with.

As for me, I am still anticipated for the collection. While everyone is complaing I will be playing it on my Playstation 3 and enjoying every second of it.

You seem to be forgetting that all of Roxas' memories of Xion were rapidly fading away. He Axel and Xion ended every mission by enjoying one of lifes simple pleasures, eating icecream with friends. It was probably the only thing that he could remember about their time together. He likely remembered that those moments meant a lot to him, but couldn't remember why. Just that they were important times to him that he wanted to have more of.

There's nothing really wrong with re-using the dubs if they have the clips in good quality. I don't see the logic, it'd just be more work.
