President Yoshi 313 Posted August 30, 2013 actually i think you are acting fanboy-ish. LIKE VERY FANBOYISH. But say that you're wrong. i think the only issue here is the physical format of the 2ds. The physical format is the leading problem for this; if it was resolved, then i think no one would actually care anymore
J. Severe 1,137 Posted August 30, 2013 It's not. I'm sure most folks, after getting over the initial WTF-ness of the announcement, have warmed up to the system and acknowledge that it's a pretty nice entry point for young gamers and a cheap alternative to getting an actual 3DS. lostmemory123 1,056 Posted August 30, 2013 (edited) I just hope casual buyers who will buy this for their kids or something dont get confused with the name, saying"Oh,is this a new system, where are all the 2ds games at?" I think the name is bound to cause some confusion, but nothing to major, anyways,I 97.9965437899999% agree with ya good sir. Btw you screw up one screen, you screw both really. About hinges, I have yet to hear kids break that. By the time they break it, the screen is first to be broken before that. (And we know the bottom screen is the first to go bye-bye.) Like my friend's cousin broke one or both of the screens. (I forgot) Yet the 3DS was still intact; no hinges broken. Now if this was the DS/lite, then I would agree. I've seen countless of those break little by little. Can't wait to see how it turns out to be, but don't be surprised if it turns out like another Micro. EDIT: And besides, aren't parents suppose to teach their kids to take care of their stuff? It as if Nintendo is saying "hey parents, don't have any time to teach your kids to take care of tech? 2DS is here so there's less chances of it breaking when they drop it, throw it, slam it on the floor because they rage quit during gameplay!" lulz Yes I agree on the cheaper is better, but like I said before used>2D. Just saiyan... Edited August 30, 2013 by OmegaForte
Hero of Winds 2,576 Posted August 30, 2013 I'll probably grab myself a 2DS, but I seriously find this to be making a joke out of Nintendo. I have no real issues with the console, just issues with Nintendo's reputation falling even more because of the idea of the 2DS.

One last thing on what I was saying, this is really for those who haven't brought a 3DS and are on a budget. Although I am too, I much prefer going the 3DS route. Shulk 8,623 Posted August 30, 2013 It really hurts to see Nintendo getting so much hate for this... Also, you're not the "butthurt fanboy", as you were suggesting people might claim. Those are the Sony/Microsoft fanboys who are making a big deal of this in the first place. As you said, it's a basic system geared for the younger, casual audience. Yet, everyone's acting like they're being forced to buy one. If you have a 3DS already, why should it matter? (That was directed towards the haters, not you Snake) Seriously, it's not like Nintendo's forcing you to buy one. This isn't meant to replace the 3DS. I actually have some friends who are interested in this because they wanted a few 3DS games, but didn't want to pay full price. Also, for the argument of used systems, it's not always a good idea. I'm speaking from experience here, too. My first 3DS was used, and it could only play one of my games, and would black out randomly. Used systems aren't always trustworthy, especially something that can be as fragile as a DS/3DS. Anyway, I completely agree with what you've said here MS. Thank you for helping support Nintendo and the Nintendo community. 1 Dio Brando reacted to this
RoxSox 3,593 Posted August 30, 2013 People do realize it's not even that much cheaper then the regular 3ds, right?
RikuFangirl2008 1,368 Posted August 30, 2013 I won't call you a moron because I totally agree with you! I've mention about the hinges several times through posting on Facebook and You Tube, the risk as far as the 3D Mode is concerned, and the fact that its for kids. Adults can get the console for themselves if the wish to save about 50 dollars in their pocket but its mainly for kids. Its a wonderful idea and some people just don't understand that it is. Yeah your able to turn the 3D Mode off itself but what about the hinges from the console? It can break! No one cant tell me that its not possible that the 3DS can break from the hinges! It is possible! My sister's were sharing a really old DS console. (The first one...) And guess what... Despite the Touch Screen is scratched by them losing the Stylus, its broken by one of the hinges! 1 Dio Brando reacted to this

RoxSox 3,593 Posted August 30, 2013 Isn't it like $30 cheaper at the most? Not that that's much anyway. Yeah, I think it's twenty dollars cheaper than a regular 3DS. It's quite a bit cheaper then a 3DS XL though.

President Yoshi 313 Posted August 30, 2013 As I said my little brother broke the hinge of his DS,and the whole handheld just started to crumble down until I was forced to buy another one for him funny you should say that, the hinge for my 3ds gets really shaky time to time it scares the heck out of me
Hero of Winds 2,576 Posted August 30, 2013 funny you should say that, the hinge for my 3ds gets really shaky time to time it scares the heck out of me I dunno about 3DSes but I have a DS (without a protective case) I've dropped on the concrete ground over a million times and not a single thing is wrong with it. Varnish 319 Posted August 30, 2013 I find it disappointing that it is directed at children, because, to me, it looks interesting enough to buy. It is, more-or-less, the Game Boy micro version of the 3DS.
OmegaForte 1,674 Posted August 30, 2013 Looks like Nintendo closed down the comments and even disabled the ratings. Yup, definitely looking like the next Micro. They better hope the price difference nets them profit.

I still see comments on the european page of Nintendo for the 2DS video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p986eUrW8Ic&feature=c4-overview-vl&list=PLN17ThonXwb0vYSK7q8qoUNLODxEibV7h so blame is on NoA,not the whole company and all it's branches. also the comments were just bitching about a product marketed toward children. Besides, didn't that happen before with the PSP GO,which again is targeting certain demographic and I still don't see how the PSP GO is bad Edited August 30, 2013 by Metal Snake
Hero of Winds 2,576 Posted August 30, 2013 Wait, we're still on a rampant rage against people's opinions? Goodness, man up people, take it like it is. You like it, others dun, and even some of us find it a very funny joke, such as myself (though that doesn't change the fact that I may get one, for lack of care in 3D on the 3DS, if it were more than $30 cheaper...but it's not and I can find a 3DS for less than $100 anywhere on Ebay, Amazon, or Craigslist.)People aren't making a big deal out of the 2DS, they're just stating their opinion, and just because you dun like their opinion, doesn't mean you should force a change of mind, especially if it sounds like you're complaining, whining, and making a big deal out of opposing opinions. 2 OmegaForte and Caity reacted to this
Caity 3,946 Posted August 30, 2013 Don't have a problem with this, actually, I think it's a good idea. It's great for little kids seven and under who aren't supposed to use the 3D effect, and the lack of hinges makes the thing virtually un-breakable. Not to mention the lower price point, which will make parents more willing to buy it for their young ones. As well, it has a tablet-esque design, and the mainstream goes crazy for tablets these days.Nice job, Reggie. But you could use parental controls and disable the option to turn on 3D completely on a 3DS They created a system to do what their previous system already does because some parents are too stupid to actually look for parental controls. I'm just saying (for the 100th time)... ah forget it, some people can't take an opinion unless it favors their thoughts.
