Have you ever started playing a new game series from the first game released?

Featured Replies

I pretty much have to. My conscience doesn't allow otherwise.

Fool. The real question is have you ever not.

I did it recently with Dragon Age.

only with Kingdom Hearts but with the Resident Evil Saga I play first RE5 then Revelations.

Pikmin. Zelda. Mario. Kirby

Yes.  RCT, Sims and others.

Kingdom Hearts, Sonic, Half-Life, Portal, Crash, Serious Sam, and so many others.

I think I did that with few series actually... With Kingdom Hearts I started with KH2, with Metroid I started with Prime, and I almost made it with Zelda, but I was little, and i played A Link to the Past first...

Probably few exceptions... Like Crash (I think), but I don't really care about that. The games I've played made me get into these series, and I don't know what would have happened if I hadn't played them! Not to mention i get around to play the other games as well.

I do wonder what it would be like to start off with the first release... It would be very different!

Not always

For example:I've played Sonic 2 before Sonic 1

and I've played KH2 before KH1

If the game has a storyline, I didn't acquire one of the games as a gift, and the first installment is actually on a system I own, 95% of the time I will choose to play the first game first.

That's getting pretty annoying, I think you understand that.

And yes, always.

Kingdom Hearts series: Kingdom Hearts 2

Legend of Zelda series: LoZ Ocarina of Time

Final Fantasy Series (though unsure if this counts cause most people say each game is it's own game with different characters and plots) FFX-2

Mario series: Mario 64 (do these games count though cause the story from previous games doesn't really roll over into it's sequels)

Sonic series: Sonic Heroes

I think the rest of the games I've played don't have a real storyline that carries over between the games, meaning starting on the 5th game in the series isn't ignoring the first because you're basically playing a new story in a new world with no connection to it's prequels.

With Final Fantasy, I started with Crisis Core. And with the Tales Series, I started with Symphonia. But other than that, I always try to play the first installment.

Actually, I can't think of a time when  the first game I played in a series was the first game in a series. 0_0

Fool. It was a rhetorical question. And there is nothing annoying about that.

It'd be unnatural if I didnt since I started playing video games when they were first coming out.

I don't think I've ever started playing a game serie by its first game

The " Fool " thing, is getting pretty annoying, that's just it. lol
