the series is going to have a hard time finding a new villan after KH3

Recommended Posts

maybe I'm getting ahead of myself but it seems like once KH3 releases and they make more games(they have said there will be more games, just not with Xehanort)  it's going to be the hardest thing ever to make a good story for.

(some KH3D spoilers follow)

I mean, they have built Xehanort up as an extremely cunning devious and intelligent villain, we are talking about a man who has used time travel to plan ahead for his own heartless and nobody's defeat and use his greatest enemy as his greatest tool for getting kingdom hearts.

it just doesn't seem like they can top him as a villain without it feeling like a deus ex machina to have the plot continued, and they would have to create a new villain to use. the most dangerous Disney character i can think of is Chernabog but they already ruled him out by putting him in the most pointless boss battle ever in kingdom hearts 1. maleficent wold just feel stupid, I mean would anyone be afraid of her as a villain at this point? we've already beaten her once and she got piratically beaten by the nobody alone of Xehanort. the only disney villain i can think of that would come close to being a suitable replacement is the phantom blot. and no I'm not talking about his epic mickey interpretation, I mean his original comic/TV show form.(here is the Disney wiki page about him http://disney.wikia.com/wiki/The_Phantom_Blot) he's got the cunning and ruthlessness they could use, but at the same time, he can't top xehanort or go against this many keyblade wielders.

It just feels like they set the bar too high for villains that anyone lower would feel like a complete whimp and anyone higher would just feel ridiculous and forced(though that's not describing it right, I don't know how to phrase it well enough)

I'm guessing they will introduce a shady new character with unclear motives in KH III that will be the next main villain. I highly doubt that they will use a Disney villain as the next main antagonist of a whole saga.

Fool. I think it will be easy to make a new villain. I can imagine. Someone who fears the keyblade and the wielders for what they have done, and so they rally followers and try to take down the keyblade wielders one by one.

I don't know if I would call Xehanort the most cunning, devious, and intelligent villain ever when every plan he has had in every incarnation has failed . That's why he has so many back up plans . If he was really that intelligent he wouldn't need back up plan after back up plan . He would've already succeeded . Seriously

I'm pretty sure his failures were part of his plan though so he could become human again but still take his heartless and nobody out of time for the thirteen darknesses

Woah, "ever"? Slow down boy! Lol

fair enough, I edited it from my OP

I see plenty of potential for new villains. Though I wouldn't mind if some of next series revolves around some intelligent beings in the realm of darkness that are causing problems in the realm of light trying to save their world.

Both Ansem SoD and Xemnas tried their hardest to build their own artificial KH and if they hadn't been thwarted Xehanort wouldn't even need the Xblade bc his whole reason for creating the Xblade was to get to KH and thus use it to create his own universe to his liking . As he stated in game- time travel was a BACK UP PLAN. It was never his original plan so of course his other incarnations didn't fail on purpose. In BBS he failed from the beginning with the formula to create the Xblade. Who gets the formula THAT wrong? . 1 pure light vs 1 pure darkness is far from 7 vs 13.. MAJOR FAILURE. His excuse? He was 'hasty'.  Even taking over Terra's body was a fail bc he thought Terra's heart would be gone and he wouldn't have to fight for control. That's why he tried to stab Terra out yelling ' get outta my heart'. Every plan has been miscalculated and a fail in some way with a smidge of success here and there .Even in DDD he failed to get Riku then moved on to Sora but didn't count on Riku coming for Sora. He didn't account for Sora getting rescued by Lea . He relies on supposed 'destiny ' yet he constantly tries to manipulate circumstances and YET STILL FAILS.

2 words bro: Nomura logic. I'm not too worried about the series future because Nomura is a master storyteller, and I know he'll come up with an awesome and devious villain that can live up to Xehanort. (Or a villain with a painfully tragic backstory who ends up doing bad things to set right the errors and sins of his past.). Hey, that sounded pretty cool! :3

Let me just throw out that Nomura already has the story for future KH games, and he already has a new villain, and even though I dont know who the new villain is, I can tell you the villain will be awesome. In Nomura we trust.

Xehanort isnt really that clever he just has a lot of BS to explain why shit happens to his plans lol

Well the whole 1 pure light and 1 pure darkness thing is supposed to work i think considering it was technically created but Ventus defeated Vanitas and it is not the "True" way. Also i thought that Terra said "get outta my heart" and stabbed himself cuz i dont think Xehanort would stab himself again which would risk taking out his own heart, and also considering Xehanort was the one who went into Terra's heart.

Nope the Xblade in BBS was broken and incomplete supposedly although the reasoning was retconned bc of DDD.Also it wasn't Terra saying 'get out of my heart' it was Xehanort. He thought when he took over Terra's body Terra's heart would be gone but it wasn't so he tried to cast it out himself. You thought wrong. Thus the tug of war of control of Terra's body .Nomura's words himself:

When Xehanort stabbed his heart with the Keyblade, why did he gointo the realm of Darkness instead of his heart going to Kingdom Hearts?

First off you were right, Master Xehanort was indeed the one who did the stabbing it was not Terra.

Anyway the stabbing was a failed extraction and in doing so Master Xehanort's control on the heart faded and so the guardian his power had conjured faded as well causing the guardian to break up into a puddle of darkness that lead to the realm of darkness.

Master Xehanort did retain some minor control enough that he could utter the name Xehanort but afterwards his control on the heart faded to the point where he is now fighting Terra on equal ground for control of the heart.

This in effect locked both of them from control because they are both busy trying to subdue the other and niether of them are strong enough to actually beat the other right now.

Is it just a pipe dream that I hope maybe Vanitas could wind up being the main villain.

Yes?

Just me?

ok.

I wouldn't necessarily oppose this. : p

It'd be interesting for Haley to become the main villain's voice actor while also being the hero's...xD

But I'd much rather them bring in someone brand new, or more unpredictable.

It won't be "hard" to find a new villain because Nomura VERY likely already has one planned out if he knows it'll continue, anyways. This is Kingdom Hearts 4 we're talking about. It'll be amazing.

Xigbar will be the next main villain.

Fantases that wouldn't work at all put aside, there is a lot they could do with the next villain; someone who is obsessed with light and trying to extinquish every drop of darkness, perhaps a villain who is trying to search for someone he lost and goes to extreme measures to find said person, or maybe someone trying to connect the worlds again in a ganerous way. Maybe not good ideas to some, but I'm just showing it is easy to come up with ideas right off the top of your head.

I have a feeling that Xehanort's plan is only one tiny part of what is secretly some sort of underground plan to completely alter and/or destroy the KH universe. Does anyone else think so?
