I personally love the gummi ship missions, but i see your point, they are very tedious in kh 1 and while the trip to a new world adds too the awesome, one or two playthroughs in it does become annoying as hell. Particualrly at the begingining with all that travelling back and forth until after deep jungle.

In kh2 they really rocked for me I maxed them all out and s ranked everything, i used to get so excited when i got a rare piece or ship :3

i liked the gumis....atleast in kh1 anyway, it was a chore for me in kh2

(WARNING: The following contains my flipping opinion. Don't take this the wrong way)

If there's one thing I know about anything, its that not everything is perfect. Not even Kingdom Hearts is perfect. And one reason I can vouch for that is because of one function in the series that ALWAYS seems to piss me off.

The Gummi Ships... ugh...

Now, don't get me wrong, the idea of creating your own spaceship that lets you travel between the worlds sounds like a cool concept. However, how it's handled in both KH1 and KH2... well...

In KH1, you could collect pieces of Gummi that let you build a ship from scratch, or you can choose blueprints to use in place of that and use a pre-made design. Personally, I never figured out how to do this as a kid when I first played the game, and maybe if I did, my opnion of Gummi Ships might be a little less sour because of it. lol Still, I really don't see the point in having this as a function. It's just that the actual process of going through a Gummi route, dodging obstacles and shooting down Heartless (yeah, apparently mindless demons without hearts can manipulate spacecraft, but that's a story for another day) is really, really tedious and BORING. Plus, the fact that you get a Warp function later in the game makes every time you went through that crap pointless. Now I realize the Warp only works once you clear the route to a certain world first, but come on, like I said earlier, those routes are TEDIOUS AND BOOOOOORING. If we have a Warp function, why can't we just have that in the beginning of the game, to save time and effort?! It would be so much smoother to just go from world to world without worry of some kind of stupid mini game you have to play along the way. -___-

In KH2, the gripes I have for the system lessened a bit. Mostly because in this game, you don't have to collect Gummi pieces. However, what they replaced with that is a sort of "challenge mode" for the routes. Ugh. -_- This basically means after you clear a Gate for a certain world, there are extra types of the routes you can play that are set on a different level of difficultly and have more enemies to kill, obstacles to dodge, and require more skill to go through. Now, what's wrong with this? Well, if I want to ignore them, I can, so thats not it... oh yeah. BECAUSE ITS A REQUIREMENT IN JIMINY'S JOURNAL TO COMPLETE THE GAME... I mean, SERIOUSLY, why?? I already abhor this entire concept to a fault, why do I have to do multiple versions of it to get a 100% status on the game? *rage*

Okay, enough sour-pussing, I'm done. And again, this is strictly my opinion. I know that there are people who actually enjoy this feature, and that also in the main games, there's always mechanics and gameplay for the Gummi Ships anyway, so really, I'm probably griping for nothing...  but, hey, I just had to get it out people.

Nomura logic at its finest. xD

I want them to keep the Gummi Ship system, but maybe modify it so it's more fun and rewarding. I'll agree that the Gummi Ship building system in KH1 was confusing as heck, and it's something I still haven't learned (Not that I find it too important anyway, I can always get away fine with the Highwind), and the missions in KH2 were somewhat annoying, but I think that the idea of Gummi Ships is a really cool one that should be explored a little more to get it down properly.

Out of curiosity, Is there anything they could do in KHIII to make you like or at leas tolerate the Gummi Ship? Removing it entirely does not count. Personally i enjoyed it in KHII. I reaplayed Assault of the Dreadnaught lv 3 over and over again just for the sheer pleasure of watching the Dreadnaught and Hunter X explode.

I don't know. Maybe if it was as simple as moving between worlds in BBS with the Keyblade Gliders, without any extra bullshit, I'd be fine. -____-

I think they should do something as a mini game before getting into worlds, I do like the idea of Gummie ships but they didnt really feel like they should be in the games.

I'll be very honest, what was even THE POINT of going through an on-rail type of thing in KH1 with the gummi ships? In KH2 at least that part was EXPLAINED, and was fun, though it was slightly annoying. It was just a chore and hassle in KH1, and was sort of remedied when you obtained the warp gummi but that only worked with the worlds you visited. So honestly I would literally LOVE for there to be no gummi ship segments in KH3

Yeah they suck a lot, they need to STAY OUTTT

I've always hated Gummi Ships and wish it could be set up like BBS for world travel in KH3.

They haven't done Gummiship since KH2. I wouldn't worry.

I would like the Gummi ships back, providing they made the customization process a little more streamlined.

Space ships > space skate boards.

I really didn't mind the Gummi system in KH2, it was fun....I preferred it waaaaaay more than the KH1 version. I'd rather have a Gummi ship in KH3 than a diving system like in 3D (I dread using it).....the Keyblade Gliders weren't bad either, they got you from point A to point B in a matter of 3 seconds. I guess either of the 2 traveling systems would be fine for me, just no more diving.

They haven't done Gummiship since KH2. I wouldn't worry.

Maybe because there hasnt been any main games since KH2....Perhaps in KH3 they can make it a lot better and different, and perhaps get rid of that arcade feel.

I loved the gummi ships and I'm sure they'll be back in KH3, but I would like to not have to do the sequences to open the path to a new world.

That would be removing it entirely... :/

You know since this is KH3 it's going to be there. But it's KH THREE so it'll probably be fun as fck. lol

They should do it like Re coded always something diffrent

I thought the Gumi ship was fun, personally....xD; *HIDES BEHIND RIKU o-o;;*

I personally liked the gummi routes in KH better than in KH II, mostly because  it felt more like you were flying to a destination, instead of being a turret.  And generally I have a great dislike for turret levels...

Anyways the only point to use gummi ships in KH III would be if Donald and Goofy are joining Sora. After all he demonstrated at the end of DDD that he doesn't even need a gummy ship to travel in between worlds anymore. (though I think he passed out while traveling)

Kingdom Hearts is perfect. This is fact. Accept it.

It it was fact, then these Gummis wouldn't even exist.

I personally loved everything about the Gummi Ship in KH1 besides how my valuable treasure chests had gummi pieces inside of them. In KH2 I found it hard to navigate through the Ship selection stuff and I hated how you had to do awesome on the routes to complete the journal. I think it should be an optional kind of side game for funsies

I entirely agree with you. I honestly dislike it in KH1, and worse since im going to platinum the game, i have to do all 3 missions. -__- Im not looking forward to it. I really HOPE TO DEAR GOD ITS SET UP LIKE IN BBS FOR KH3.

Maybe because they only have that for the numbered title games. I have a bad feeling it'll return in KH3, but i would rather it was set up for like in BBS.

BECAUSE ITS A REQUIREMENT IN JIMINY'S JOURNAL TO COMPLETE THE GAME...

I completed the journal in KH2 and didn't do a single Gummi ship mission...
