This is Why I hate The American Government

They always try to make these stupid and bogus laws that will piss people off. I mean just look at what they are trying to do now. They brung back SOPA from the grave after millions of people were against it and are trying to enforce that rule just to ruin our freedom and entertainment on the internet. It's reasons like these are why I hate the American government. They are clearly full of old people who are just confused and can't understand anything abut the internet or any other new gen technology. It's reasons like these why America is giving itself a bad name. Because the government are given a false sense of what "Justice" is. The only reason why they even want this bill to be passed is all because they want more money, power, and control. And now they are trying to control what we can and can't do on the internet. They are trying to take away our freedom and rights that we have on the internet. it's reasons like this why America is always getting a false sense of what Justice truly is. Just like when they arrested that lady for having overgrown grass and was thrown in prison. The Government are just full of corrupt people who just wants more power and control. And the Government needs to realize that if they pass this SOPA bill then they will destroy the internet as well as go against what America stands for. I mean if they are trying to get rid of online piracy well that's fine. But doing it like this is NOT a good way of doing that. You'll just be throwing innocent people in prison and pitting them against REAL criminals. Like rapists, killers, ect. this will affect tons of people around the world, especially famous YouTube users like Chuggaconroy, NintendoCaprisun, ect who upload videos just for fun. Not for any criminal activity.

 

In other words what i mean: I hate the American government because of the fact that the people who run it are given a very false sense of the meaning of "Justice" and "Freedom".  And are just full of corrupt people who are out to gain more power and control and arrest people for the wrong reasons.

Exactly, then there are people like me, who doesn't want a Youtube Partnership or to monetize my videos because I do this for fun, to entertain people, and that shouldn't be a crime.

Yes both have some bullshit in and a lot of corruption but  people should count themselves lucky, I'd rather something like Sopa happen then live in a country which is run by a Dictatorship. I doubt that the entirety of the American government has much to do with SOPA. From what I understand, it's a very small sect pushing for the bill, and, in doing so, are in fact doing their job: representing the opinions of a sect of people who asked for their voice to be heard, in this members of the entertainment industry. There's no real skulduggery about the actual act.

 

Now, if people of the internet do not care for the bill, they should do much the same thing: lobby, write to congress, find a member who sympathizes and have their interests represented in turn. It's not like this is impossible, as it clearly was a successful action the last time SOPA was killed. Actually, if anything, this at least has woken up the 18-30 generation to realize that politics is still relevant to their interests, and that they should indeed still be active in it, and if nothing else should vote more often and take their government seriously.

You might not like it but its one of, if not the most powerful governments in the world. Just because they make a decision that may not be in your favor doesn't warrant them to be "bad". There's always controversial things going on in different countries, just take prohibition as an example. The Government passed it in an attempt to better protect their citizens, not to just piss them off. I'm not defending them, but it's very unreasonable to hate something because you don't agree with it.
