So Why Does Nintendo release Games On a Sunday?

Recommended Posts

I've always wondered this. Why does Nintendo release most of their games on a Sunday?

MMmmm

If you mean the Japanese release

then as far as I'm aware, the Japanese government doesn't allow releases to be on sunday for some reason

I dunno about other parts of the world, but hey....it makes no difference to me

As long as I'm getting the game I'm fine with getting it anyday

I dunno, but I wish they didn't. During the school year it gets extremely annoying getting a new game on Sunday rather than a Friday or Saturday because you only have that day to play it and you have to go to bed early and go to school and yadda yadda yadda while as if you got the game on Friday or Saturday you'd have the remainder of the day as well as a full day or two left to play the game before having to go back to school.

Fool. Wow, That problem is easily solved. Just play after school. Or wait til' next weekend. Although video games are fun, your day shouldn't revolve around them.

Well that felt like a diatribe. Duh, of course I could play after school, and what makes you think my entire day literally revolves around playing a Nintendo game I just got? Sure, there's anticipation of wanting to get home and bust the good ol' shiny new game out, but I can enjoy my school day with friends and fun just well. All I meant is that I'd like to have just a little more time to play a game I got.

Ours has never had a set day to come out

Probably cause it's close enough to Friday where people still might have cash left from their paycheck or close enough to Monday which might be other people's pay day

I think the whole Sunday thing in America, has to do with Nintendo's nature as a family friendly company and how Sundays are normally treated as a day for the family to share and do stuff together. Though this doesn't make sense for single player games, but sometimes trying to understand Nintendo would result a bit hard. But I  am prety sure it had to with sunday being family day and them being a family friendly company.

This post makes a lot of sense as to why they release games on a Sunday.
