TV Anyone else think that Squidward is annoying?

Is annoying?  I mean I know he finds Spongebob annoying, but him getting annoyed kinda annoys me.  Does anyone else feel that way or do you feel sorry for him?

It's Squidward, but I do tend to feel sorry for him, yes.  He's a wet blanket, but for someone like him it's gotta be hell dealing with neighbors like Spongebob and Patrick, especially during the later seasons of the show where their annoyance/immaturity/stupidity gets dialed up to 11.  I usually don't get annoyed by his reactions.  On the contrary, I think they're funny most of the time.  The deadpan straight guy dealing with someone jolly and hyperactive makes great comedic material, as long as it's not pushed too far in annoying, rather cringe-worthy ways like in the later seasons.

I often feel bad for him. Yes, he has an inflated ego and is selfish, but a lot of the times it seems Spongebob goes out of his way to harm Squidward physcially/mentally. Of course, when Squidward is being a selfish jerk, that is when I think whatever happens to him is just.

Squidward is kinda of mean, selfish, and kind of has an ego but I still feel sorry for him at times. Like, in that episode where he quits working at the Krusty Krab and then he loses everything and becomes very poor.

Well the series has been starting to get less funny, at least to me. He's really the only reason to watch Spongebob if I'll be honest. It's just, the show has been going on for about 13 or whatever some years, and it's starting to get annoying... well at least Spongebob himself is. Sorry to any current Spongebob fans but it's just the show has started to annoy me after about 4 years ago. Which lead to me starting to dislike the show. Don't mean to get off topic too much

And I didn't answer the question, go me. I feel sorry for him. Having an annoying neighbor and all. And getting blamed for things, he just outright didn't do.

Squidward is the only character who's personality hasn't degraded, unlike the other characters on the show. He's still selfish, egotistical, and an art snob; but that's his thing. And that's always been his thing. Meanwhile, everyone else acts like either a complete doofus or a jerk, which is completely OOC for how these characters USED to act, before the show went bad. (After Paul Tibbit took up script writing after the movie in '07, and slowly but surely did the show's overall quality begin to drop.)
