Shard the Gentleman 2,891 Posted August 16, 2013 (edited) I had the oppertunity to speak to the man himself, Everglow8444! For those who don't know, Everglow8444 is KH13's partner, uploading KH 1.5 videos and music to YouTube!ONTO THE INTERVIEW [7:07:59 PM] Admiral Antoine Anything you wish to say to the "audience" before starting this interview?[7:13:33 PM] Everglow8444: Well, I just would like to thank every single person who enjoyed my videos and especially those who understood how much dedication I put into them. There is nothing better than reading comments which makes me understand that. I don't care about making Kingdom Hearts videos where I show off my skills or something, as I'm not that kind of guy, but I just want to create videos in a way that other people normally wouldn't. And of course I'm starting a new series of videos aimed to help everybody, such as tutorials, video and trophy guides. Anything to let my channel be one of the best Kingdom Hearts source on the net. So, again, just thank you, especially to DChiuch who thought of me when looking for a KH13 partner. That means a lot to me.[7:14:37 PM] Admiral Antoine When did you become a partner of KH13?[7:18:18 PM] Everglow8444: About one year ago, when I started uploading Dream Drop Distance unsubbed cutscenes of my own, for my channel. Actually I originally needed some of them for creating a new "Booray" video, but they ended up being used in a more useful way, in KH13 archive. Then DChiuch helped me to buy a 3DS Capture Board, which allowed me to re-record all of my Dream Drop Distance videos in perfect video quality. All of those videos have been successfully inserted in KH13 video archives.[7:19:18 PM] Admiral Antoine What is the best thing about having a partnership with KH13?[7:23:05 PM] Everglow8444: Having more chances to get my hard work known. Of course, it gives you a nice feeling of satisfaction when you see your own videos being linked in perfect order in such a huge and famouse Kingdom Hearts website, knowing that they can be useful.[7:23:49 PM] Admiral Antoine What was most memorable to you about making yourvideos?[7:32:40 PM] Everglow8444: Well... I kind of had to build a very funny set up for recording my original Dream Drop Distance playthrough and cutscenes. When the game came out on July 2012 I could not afford a 3DS Capture Board (I did not even know there was one), so... I had to create a very original set up for putting my camera right in front of my 3DS. I had to play in a particular way, without moving too much, and Kingdom Hearts 3D playstyle is not that paced! Had to play only at certain hours, when I could not be interrupted, playing in the dark in my room... my back kept hurting for a while, as I had to position my arms in a certain way. Moreover, I wanted to record all of the Special Portals, for both Sora and Riku. So, yeah, those weeks definitely are the most memorable, which made me understand how much I care about my work being worth to watch.[7:35:12 PM] Admiral Antoine Before you started, What were you looking forward to the most in your playthrough of Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX?[7:37:50 PM] Everglow8444: Like, how I expected the game to be before trying it out?[7:38:08 PM] Admiral Antoine Yes.[7:47:22 PM] Everglow8444: I haven't played the first Kingdom Hearts for like 5 years, since my last playthrough of it on my old channel. I was really looking forward to it, especially to its trophies, which require you to get the full 100% of the game, which I never reached. You know, clearing all of the Gummiship missions, collecting all of the blueprints, synthetising the new items at the Moogle Shop... but what I wanted to play the most was Re:Chain of Memories. This game means a lot to me, I can't explain how much excited I was when I first got it back in 2007. It was a totally new experience and that awesome feeling of actually playing it is still as strong as before. I was very glad that I could finally re-play these two games on my PS3, in HD too. The PS2 is unfortunately dead and I needed a way for playing my favourite games again. And this is the best chance. Not really looking forward to 358/2 Days, as it's only composed of cutscenes, but there were a couple of parts that I would have loved to see re-made in HD. Mostly Roxas' most important battles, but, as you probably already know, they did not add anything like that. What we just see 99% of those 3 hours is always Roxas, Axel and Xion staying on the clock tower, and the "movie" concept element that Square was so proud of, is totally ruined. This is, of course, a simple opinion of mine.[7:48:42 PM] Admiral Antoine What was the most stressful part of your playtrough of KH 1.5?[7:53:17 PM] Everglow8444: Hmm... As for the main story, I played it on Proud Mode, so of course, Ursula and Dragon Maleficent were not a piece of cake. Once completed it I had to clear my mind and decide which trophies should be obtained first. Had to level Sora up and get rid of the secret bosses, which were fun as I remembered. But the real stressful part was completing all of the Gummiship missions. People who have not played Kingdom Hearts Final Mix will probably ignore what they are, but if you already hate the Gummiship levels... well, those missions will make you hate them more. Definitely.[7:54:14 PM] Admiral Antoine How many hours have you dedicated to yourplaythrough of KH 1.5?[7:56:11 PM] Everglow8444: Ha, you really want to know that? When I was recording my last video about the new secret Heartless, I noticed that I had played the game for a total of 70 hours![7:57:50 PM] Admiral Antoine What was your favorite part of Kingdom Hearts 1.5?[8:00:37 PM] Everglow8444: It could seem like a minor thing, but what I actually liked the most is that they remastered the soundtracks. I appreciated how they added Roxas' Keyblade cards in Re:Chain of Memories, but when I was fighting Marluxia's final battle with Lord of the Castle playing in the background... heh.[8:01:20 PM] Admiral Antoine: What is your favorite Kingdom Hearts moment?[8:07:27 PM] Everglow8444: You could not ask me a harder question! Hmmm... this is really difficult. I would say that Birth By Sleep secret ending is one of the most touching scenes I ever seen. The part where everyone needing Sora are asking for his help, you know? Also I particularly loved the whole Riku's story. All he did after the first Kingdom Hearts events are great proves of wisdom and bravery, and his desire of redemption in Dream Drop Distance are a big lesson to everyone.[8:08:27 PM] Admiral Antoine I completely agree. What world from the Kingdom Hearts series is your favorite?[8:14:19 PM] Everglow8444: Again, I can't decide. I actually liked Prankster's Paradise (Sora's side). It was a lot of fun using Flowmotion there, and the music was so beautiful. But what I found to be very original, in a never seen before way, was Symphony of Sorcery. Everytime I entered a new location my jaw dropped. It is so... colourful, large, and the music is incredible, especially when you made it accidentally match with your combos. It is probably the most unique world they ever created so far.[8:14:42 PM] Admiral Antoine What is your favorite Kingdom Hearts title?[8:17:29 PM] Everglow8444: I've spent so many months playing Birth By Sleep. It had a lot of things to be discovered and so many new abilities to be unlocked. It gives you the chance to play as three, new characters, whose stories are all connected and lead to a breathtaking ending. I'm really looking forward to it in the next HD Collection.[8:18:03 PM] Admiral Antoine Do you plan on recording a playthrough of Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX?[8:22:21 PM] Everglow8444: Definitely. Can't wait to fight all of the Organization XIII Data again and seeing Aqua in HD! Also I'm expecting Kingdom Hearts 2 (Final Mix?) to have all of its soundtracks re-orchestrated, just like they did for Kingdom Hearts Final Mix. There are a lot of musics that deserved to have an own re-orchestrated version, such as The 13th Struggle (which I expected to be re-arranged in Re:CoM), The Other Promise and Twilight Town musics. I would dare to believe that they are saving them for a HD version of Kingdom Hearts 2 in the next HD Collection.[8:22:56 PM] Admiral Antoine Anything you wish to say to the audience before we close this interview?[8:28:54 PM] Everglow8444: It is so great being involved in anything related to Kingdom Hearts. Even for small things like this, even when meeting new people on random video pages, it is such a nice feeling knowing that there are people who do appreciate what you do for them. I'm happy I could be of some sort of help for KH13. I'm expecting the saga to offer a lot yet, and I'm glad that Square Enix is finally releasing their exclusive versions (Final Mix and Re:Chain of Memories) worldwide. I was getting tired of all those games having more exclusives than the others. Hopefully they will keep following this path, since it is the most right one.END INTERVIEWI had a fun time interviewing him, he's quite the fun guy!
