DragonMaster 1,166 Posted May 9, 2010 This is my story I have been working on for a long time on in my head. Please tell me what you think so I know if I should type more. It is Kingdom Hearts related and I hope you enjoy it. ___________________________________________________ Dark Heart Everything is born from sleep. In the fate of all there is no coincidence. “Such words are true but meaningless. In the end we will all fade to darkness. Everything we have will be lost. We will wither away to nothingness. Everything we know will end. Then, you will know that I was right, and that what we do in life is meaningless. You and I are bound together, both of us connected, because our fates are the same. You, I, and the rest of the world are all doomed to die. But it is how we chose to do so, that will determine if our existence was worth it.” ~Kazari Without the light there is no darkness, and without the darkness there is no light. They constantly clash, creating everything we know. But what keeps these forces in balance? What stops them from destroying everything? What is in between? What is left of the places destroyed by the opposing forces of the light and darkness? Everything is made from dark and light. Everything is created from the constant imbalance between the opposing forces. The Realm of Nothing is ever present. It balances all, and yet is all consuming. All that we know would not exist without the Realm of Nothing. The Realm of Light and The Realm of Darkness need each other to exist. And yet they can never co-exist in peace. The Realm of Nothing keeps the balance. This is Dark Heart. For Cory, who was one of the first to give to me true friendship and the knowledge of what it means to be friends. * * * For Kassidy, who taught me that what others think is not important and that you should always follow your heart. * * * For Holley, who showed to me the ropes of life and love, and gave me compassion, though she will never know it. You three are only a few of those who affected my life, but have by far changed me the most. The inspiration for the characters in this story, you guys (and girls) will forever remain in my heart. Cory, Kassidy (my true Oni), and especially you, Holley, I thank you. I hope you all live happy lives, though you have already disappeared from mine. Chapters 1. Fate is set 2. Discussions 3. Shooting Stars 4. Dreams 5. Confide 6. Burn 7. Graduation 8. Reunion 9. Emptiness 10. Oni 11. Oni’s End 12. Requiem 13. Heart of Rage Epilogue Chapter One: Fate is Set The day was perfect. The air was warm, the breeze was cool. Everything seemed to be at peace. It seemed a normal day in Radiant Garden. Two kids were playing in the park. One was a boy, by the name of Kazari. He was a typical boy of five, energetic and care free. His curly brown hair was blowing in the wind and his green eyes glowed with fire as he sparred with his friend. Her eyes, also green, sparkled with joy as she easily beat him. She was just like any other five year old girl, and her blond hair flowed gracefully down her back. “Come on Kazari. Why do you always want to play this game? You know I always beat you,” the young girl asked. “I’ll never beat you if I don’t try, Holley,” Kazari answered back. “You’ll never beat me and you know it,” Holley said. “Will too!” “No you won’t!” “Yes I will!” “Hey play nicely now,” Brenna Dame, the young woman who was watching them called as she cradled her young son, Kory, not older than a month in her arms. “Ok,” the kids called back as they began to spar again. It was then that a couple that had just moved to Radiant Garden and their young daughter came walking through the park. The little girl had stunning blue eyes and radiant blue hair. “Hello,” the girls parents said as they came up to Kazari, Holley, and Brenna. “Hello,” Brenna replied back. “Mommy, can I play with them?” asked the little girl, who appeared to be the same age as Kazari and Holley. “Sure, have fun!” the girl’s mother called as she ran to join Holley and Kazari. “Hi,” said Holley. “Hi,” the girl replied back with a smile. “Hello, I am Kazari,” Kazari said. “Hi,” she said. “I am Holley,” Holley added. “What’s your name?” Kazari asked. “My name is Aqua,” the girl said. “You know how to play?” Kazari asked. “No,” Aqua replied. Hmm, good this should be easy, Kazari thought to himself. “It is easy. Just pick up a stick by one of the trees and then use it like a sword. The first one to get hit or drop their stick loses,” Kazari said to her. “Ok,” she said. Soon they were ready to go. Holley gave them the signal and they were off. Aqua proved to be a great challenge, and easily beat Kazari. She was quick and agile, and good on her feet, despite only being five. Kazari kneel on the ground in defeat. “How did you get so good?” Kazari asked. “I don’t know. I just do what I think I should do,” Aqua replied casually. “My turn!” Holley said. So for the rest of the day the kids played and had fun together. They quickly became good friends. But it would not last long. That night, the girl and her family disappeared. Two children were born that night before the family left, both girls. One to the parents of Kazari, whose name was Arlene. The other was born to new parents, and her name was Oni. DragonMaster 1,166 Posted May 15, 2010 lol glad you guys like it. I am working on the next chapter it should be out by tomorrow night, well if all goes well. and with summer coming I will most likely be able to work on it more. Oni! Xion! Arlene! Larxene! like this story already! the first one is a maybe if I can figure out how to make it fit with the story of KH, but the second one is correct. Chapter Two: Discussions 12 years later. Master Xehanort's plan has been put into motion. The time has come for his research to begin. * * * Two men were walking through a corridor, their voices kept low. They knew that everything they had worked for was on the line. "How is he doing?" the first man asked. "Same as always, Even," the other said. "And he suspects nothing?" Even said. "As if. As far as he knows, this is exactly what everyone else goes through." "Good, if he were to know, then it would all be ruined." "You think I don’t know that?" "With you, Braig, I never know." "Fine, fine. What of Ansem?" Braig replied. "Ignorant as ever." "Good, then we are set. Soon Xehanort plan will be in motion." "Mmm." * * * "So, how has the training been going?" Braig asked the weapons master of Radiant Garden. "His skills are different. He has no tactic. He goes at full force, lets his rage fuel his attacks, leaving himself wide open. The other students easily out match his swords-man-ship. But he learns at his other lessons faster than anyone. He has even figured out how to use magic to defend himself. He uses his power in magic to amplify his attack. It is quite something," the old man replied. "Interesting. And what of the girl?" "Her skill with the blade is great. She is easily best with the sword out of all the students," "Good, good," Braig said. * * * "Come on Arlene!" Kazari yelled as he taught her to fight with daggers. "There just like small swords. They’re perfect for you, small and fast." "I am trying Kazari," Arlene screamed back in frustration. "Here try my daggers," Kazari said, as he handed over his two daggers to Arlene. "Dad gave them to me. This one with the yellow hilt design stands for lightning and the one with the black design stands for darkness." "I don’t need a lesson from you!" Arlene said back. "Why you, come back here!" * * * "Come on Oni! We need to get this project done!" Kory said as he tried to glue some pictures to a board. "Why do we even need to do this anyway" Oni asked back in her bored voice.
WayToShadows 0 Posted May 19, 2010 Ooo!!! Interesting.... Cant wait for more!!!!
DragonMaster 1,166 Posted May 20, 2010 Thanks. That second chapter kinda a filler chapter though. The chapters to come will be much more... Story like. And if all goes well, it should be decent length story. The next chapter should come later today or tomorrow. http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/happy.png I do have quite surprising things in store for this story, I hope it is good. _____________________________________________________________ Ok the next chapter is ready. It is a longer one. _____________________________________________________________ Chapter 3: Shooting Stars “Come on!” Kazari yelled as he raced up a hill towards their favorite spot. “I am coming!” Holley laughed behind him. “We’ll beat you both to the top!” Oni and Arlene said as they ran past Holley and Kazari. “Hey guys, wait up! Not all of us are fast running up hill” Kory wheezed from behind the rest of the kids. “Don’t be such a kill joy, Kory,” Kazari said as he made it to the top. “Look out!” “Aghh!” exclaimed Kazari as Holley ran straight into him. They rolled down the hill and almost hit Kory. “Watch it!” “Maybe if you moved your butt I wouldn’t have run into you!” “That’s it! Race you to the top!” “You’re on Kazari!” The two raced up the hill and passed Kory again, leaving him to run after them wheezing. When they all reached the top they collapsed and watched the sky together. “The sky is so beautiful,” Holley said, eyes shining, as she looked up to the stars. “Yeah,” Kazari said a smile on his face. “It is like you can see into forever,” Arlene sighed. “That’s impossible,” Kory said is a matter of fact voice. “Kory, you’re no fun,” she replied back, in an obviously annoyed voice. “You think you know everything.” “I wish I knew everything,” he sighed, as he slowly moved away from Arlene. He hated it when she was annoyed. “Well you know almost everything about flowers, that’s for sure,” Oni said. “Shut up,” Kory retorted. “No,” Oni said. Now she was obviously irritated too. “Hey break it up you three!” Holley said, laughing under her breath. Sometimes her friends acted so childish. “Who made you the boss Holley,” Kazari said casually. “You sure you want to do this Kazari?” Holley said dangerously. Kazari sighed; no one could take a joke from, him could they? “Nah, just messing with you. You need to learn how to detect sarcasm. You’d think you already knew how to do that, seeing how good you are with being sarcastic yourself,” he said back. “What’s that supposed to mean?” “Say what I mean, mean what I say,” Kazari said. “Ok now you two have to break it up,” Oni said. “I swear you two act like boyfriend and girlfriend some times.” “Do not!” Kazari and Holley said in unison. “See what I mean?” Oni said causing Arlene to laugh and Holley and Kazari to turn deep shades of red. “Hey guys look!” Kory exclaimed as he pointed to the sky. Hundreds of shooting stars were shooting through the night sky. “It’s beautiful!” Arlene said in a dreamy voice. * * * “Quite an amazing display don’t you think?” Ansem the Wise said to his young apprentice. The little boy only nodded as his mind was captivated by the meteor shower. “Remember this, Ienzo; this may be the only time you get to experience this marvel.” * * * “Well I got to go,” Kory said. “I’ve got a report due tomorrow” “I gotta get my sleep too,” Arlene said. “Me too, you don’t want to see me if I haven’t had my beauty sleep,” Oni added. “Well, I guess we should call it a night,” Kazari said as he got up and stretched. “Yeah, good night everyone,” Holley said as they all started walking back to their homes. “So, Kazari,” Arlene said when the others were gone,”You get along pretty well with Holley, don’t you?” “You’re stupid. We have known each other for almost as long as I can remember. It be weird if we were together,” Kazari said blushing. “I am just saying that Oni has a point, you two do act like you are a couple.” “Shut up,” Kazari said, blushing more now. “You like her don’t you? You think she looks pretty.” “Shut up!” “So now you’re going on the defensive?” Arlene said, knowing she was getting to him. “Shut up Arlene! You don’t know what you’re talking about!” Kazari yelled at the top of his lungs. “Fine, fine,” Arlene said. “Thank you,” Kazari said. But underneath his angry exterior, he was smiling, almost laughing, the thought of him and Holley was ridiculous, but somehow, he wondered if Arlene could tell something about him he didn’t even know. _____________________________________________________________ Ok another chapter this one is short though. _____________________________________________________________ Chapter Four: Dreams Darkness. Everything was in darkness. Then finally it cleared. A cliff, key shaped swords everywhere, the old man stood on the cliff as he watched the chaos down below. A girl, a blue hair girl stood at the bottom of the cliff as she watched her friend fall. She used her magic to save him. But then out of nowhere a person cam and attacked. Darkness again. When sight came back, the old man was holding an armored boy. The boy was in pain, and in flash, he was frozen. The old man dropped the boy, and darkness crept back. Again it cleared, a destroyed world, a dark world. The blue haired girl took the boy inside a huge building. She held up her key and the entire world changed. Then darkness. They tossed and turned in their sleep. Now she was on a rocky plain, she faced a silver haired boy who looked hardly older than her. They clashed, their key shaped swords in a flurry. Neither could defeat the other. Two friends forced to fight. Only a nightmare, and yet it felt somehow real. The blue haired girl, she looked familiar. The boy fell in defeat. He started to fall into a pit, a pit of darkness. The girl went after him. She saved him, she sent her armor and key shaped weapon with him. He went back, but she continued to fall, never stopping, into the dark oblivion. "Aqua!" The cry rang through the night, piercing the absolute silence. Those who had experienced it, knew now that this was no dream. They knew the girl, from so long ago, who left the night two girls were born. Aqua, the girl they had played with in the park twelve years ago, who had been so good sparring. She was gone. As this reality set in Kazari and Holley fell into tears. They had only known her for one day, and yet it felt like a life time. And now she was gone, and they would never meet again. _____________________________________________________________ Ok no point in making a new post. Next two chapters coming up. (Yes two chapters again!) _____________________________________________________________ Chapter Five: Confide They were walking home, and yet to them it felt like walking to emptiness. Kazari sighed. Ever since that awful nightmare he felt like there was nothing left. Kazari and Kory began to trail behind the group. “Hey Kazari, is something wrong?” Kory asked. “No, nothing more than the usual,” Kazari replied. “Actually, can I ask you something?” “Sure.” “Do you think me and Holley ever act like a couple?” Kory laughed, “That’s what you want to ask? Are you serious?” “Yes.” “Oh,” Kory replied, sounding a little worried. “Nah, you too act more like brother and sister. With you two you either get along great or want to rip out each other’s throat. Kinda like you and Arlene.” “Heh, yah. Can you imagine me and her together?” Kazari said, relief obvious in his voice. “Don’t listen to Oni. She doesn’t know what she is talking about. She always tries to make everything work like it does in her own little world.” “Heh. Come on let’s go. But don’t tell anyone I asked this.” “Secrets safe with me,” Kory said as they both ran up to catch up with the others. * * * They had just finished watching the stars when Kazari pulled Holley away from the others. “Hey, last night, did you have a, um, dream?” Kazari asked her. “Um, yeah, why do you want to know?” she asked back. “Was it about a girl with blue hair?” “Yeah but how-“ “I had the same dream!” “What?” “Remember a long time when we were in the park and we played with that little blue haired girl?” “Yeah,” she said back, realizing that he had come to the same conclusion she had. “The girl in the dream was the same one we met in the park. And it wasn’t just a dream it actually happened.” “What? How do you know?” “At the castle there was a big commotion. They carried an injured man off, and he looked exactly like the man she fought and then saved in the dream.” “What! Are you sure?” “Positive.” “I don’t know what this means, Kazari, but it can’t be good.” “I had the same feeling.” _____________________________________________________________ Chapter Six: Burn The man swore as yet another experiment blew up in his face. What was wrong with the machine! He had overheard everything Ansem had said, the substance from the fallen meteors should be able to let you go to different worlds, but for some reason it just would not create a working machine. “So how’s it going, Even?” Braig said as he walked into the laboratory. “Awful! The substance from the meteors just won’t sustain a constant running time. It always falls apart or blows up. How anyone could make a vehicle to travel to different worlds with this is beyond me!” Even replied, enraged. He had never failed at something like this before. It was infuriating. “This thing is necessary for our plan, don’t let us down.” “Bah! Why do we even have to do this? Xehanort doesn’t even have his memories from before! He is next to useless!” “In due time, Even, in due time. He has already begun to experiment with the heart. Everything should just fall into place.” “But why do we need this machine?” Even asked, still frustrated. “For our plan to work we need to take you know who’s you know what. If he can’t find them he will become frustrated. And if all else goes smoothly, soon that won’t be the only thing wrong is his life. We need to see how far we can push him.” “Bah! You are only doing this for your own personal gain! I don’t know what that might be, but you care nothing for the science in this.” “As if.” “Just get out! If I have to do this I need quite.” “Whatever,” Braig said as he left. These scientists were so stuck up, getting into stuff that isn’t their business. He hoped the boy didn’t become like this, it would prove difficult for the plans for the future. Soon, everything would be ready, and the boy’s heart would burn. DragonMaster 1,166 Posted May 24, 2010 Problems How? Like writers block or formatting issues or something? If it is writers block then you may want to take a break for a while. If it is formatting issues, then all I can say is just keep experimenting until you get what you think looks good.

DragonMaster 1,166 Posted July 7, 2010 The next chapter is (finally) here. Now the story starts to get exciting. ____________________________________________________________ Chapter Seven: Graduation Kazari opened his eyes. He sighed as he remembered what today was. Graduation day, the day he gets to leave the school at the castle and begin the rest of his life. He closed his eyes and sighed again. The rest of his life, what would he do with it. “Kazari, wake up! You know how important today is!” called his mother from downstairs. After Kazari got dressed he went down stairs to find a huge breakfast made of his personal favorites. He smiled slightly, even on days he didn’t want to happen his mother could always make it better. “Kazari, me and your father decided that we should give you this before the ceremony,” Kazari’s mother said as she sat down at the table next to him. She took out a big package and handed it to him. Kazari, curious as to what his parents had given him, opened the package slowly but eagerly. His furrowed his brows as he looked at what the package had contained, a book. “This is a very special book. It holds info on almost anything you wish to know.” “My grandfather gave it to my father, and my father gave it to me. So now that your graduating I decided to give it to you,” his father added. “Thanks dad,” Kazari said as he flipped through the pages. His parents smiled. “Well I guess you should get going, big day today,” said Kazari’s dad, a hint of satisfaction in his voice. * * * “Today is an important day. You two have worked hard to come to this day. For that you should be proud. It took many hours of studying, and many more hours of training, but both of you applied yourselves and you have both become fine young people,” Ansem the Wise said as he began the graduation ceremony for Kazari and Holley. “You both should be proud of yourselves, not only from how much work you have done to get here, but also how much you have grown as people. While you will be leaving this place forever, and I can’t decide how your lives turn out, I hope that you never forget the lessons you have learned here. I now hereby congratulate you on your achievements, and I would now like to give each of you a parting gift, that I hope will help you through even the darkest of times.” Ansem proceeded to retrieve two black cases from the table in front of Holley and Kazari. “For Holley, a blade whose strength comes from the wielders heart, for it is in the heart that our true strength lies,” he said as he opened the first case and presented a beautifully crafted sword whose blade looked fast and sleek, and had a light pink tint to it and whose hilt was decorated with heart shaped jewels. “Thank you, Ansem,” Holley said respectfully after taking the sword from him. “ And for Kazari, a sword whose strength comes from the memories of the wielder, for it is through our past experiences that we learn and grow,” Ansem said as he opened the second case and produced and equally brilliant sword. The blade was thick and powerful with edges razor sharp, and a white tint to the metal. The hilt was made of a black colored metal and was decorated with shining jewels that reflected light in a mystic way. “Thank you, Ansem,” Kazari said mimicking Holley’s tone and taking the sword. “And so concludes the ceremony. I hope you two continue to prosper as you grow into fine adults. Remember, this is only the ending of one adventure, but it is also the beginning of many more. There will be good times, and there will bad times, but always remember that you can and will get through it just the same,” said Ansem, concluding the graduation. As Kazari and Holley exited the room the guards at the door bowed to them. One of them with a scarred face and an eye patch smirked at them as they walked by. Kazari wondered why he did this, but did not dwell, thinking it meant nothing. As they neared their homes, however, they could tell that something was horribly, horribly wrong. “Kazari!” Arlene yelled as she ran up to them, “Mom an-and d-dad, their gone. Two guys came and took them and there was nothing we could do.” After this Arlene collapsed and began to cry, as Kory and Oni caught up with them. “Did you see who did it?” Kazari asked, trying not to break out crying too. “Kazari,” Kory said, his voice full of fear and dread, “The looked like the guys who are always guarding the castle.”

DragonMaster 1,166 Posted October 18, 2010 Well, it has been way to long. So here is the next chapter. Hope you enjoy it. ________________________________________________________________ Chapter Eight: Reunion “Stay here,” said Kazari as he shot off at a higher speed than he had ever run in his life. What kind of person would take his parents, what had they done? He only got angrier as he came to the castle. “Well, well, well. What have we here? Does the little baby want his mommy and daddy back?” said Braig as he stepped out of the shadows of the fading daylight. “But we can’t have that now, can we?” “What have you done with my parents!” demanded Kazari, ignoring the insult. “Heh, you really think I would tell you? As if,” Braig retorted. “Tell me!” yelled Kazari as he drew his new sword. He was going to get his parents back, even if he had to chop through every guard in the castle. “If you really want to know, then follow me… if you can,” Braig said, not even noticing the sword being waved in his face. At that, he was off, faster than any human should be able to move, or so it seemed to Kazari. Braig led him all around the castle grounds, and eventually beyond. When finally he seemed satisfied with their distance from the castle and town, Braig finally stopped running. He turned to face Kazari, and snapped his fingers. Kazari’s parents materialized right in front of them, hands tied and mouths gagged, along with a man in a white lab coat. “Ah, took you long enough Braig, I was beginning to worry that the child had actually posed a challenge to you,” the man said. “As if. Just had to wear him out, you know that. It was the plan we discussed, Even,” Braig replied. “Enough of this!” interrupted Kazari, not going to put up with their pointless discussion. “Aww, the baby wants his mommy,” said Braig, “untie them Even, give him what he wants.” “Of course, Braig,” Even replied with a cold tone in his voice. He proceeded to untie both of Kazari’s parents, who then rushed to him and hug him. “Are you all right?” Kazari asked them both. “Yes,” said his dad, “but tell us, how was the graduation.” “It was great, thanks,” said Kazari. “We’re sorry we weren’t there when you got home,” said his mom. “It’s alright, you’re here now,” Kazari said. “How touching,” Braig said, “but sadly, this reunion is… over.” An arrow gun materialized in his hand and two shots came from it, one for each of Kazari’s parents. And just like that, both his parents had been slain right in front of him. Their eyes faded as they fell to the ground, with their last breaths they said to Kazari three final words, “We love you.”

DragonMaster 1,166 Posted October 19, 2010 Thanks. I will try to get another chapter or two done on the week end.
DragonMaster 1,166 Posted October 23, 2010 Ok here is the next chapter. Mostly a filler, but it has some important hints. Now nearing the end of the story, also might make some character biographies after I am finished, just so you can visualize the characters better. Anyway, here is chapter Nine. _____________________________________________________________ Chapter Nine: Emptiness Over the next few days none of them really talked much. Kazari and Arlene just stayed at home, and the others gave them their space. It had only been a week since Kazari had walked into town carrying the bodies of his parents, and it seemed that he had been affected most by their deaths. He barely said a word, giving one or two word responses when he was asked questions, occasionally just grunting. He refused to say who had killed his parents, which worried everyone. It was only after a month that he started to attempt to communicate with others again, but still only insisting he was okay and he didn’t know who had killed his parents. No one really believed this, but none of them wanted to confront him either. Eventually, things just eased back to normal, or at least as close as they could get. “Hey Kazari,” said Kory as Kazari approached them. “Hey, what are you guys doing?” Kazari replied quietly. “Me, Kory, and Oni were all assigned to do a project together, and Holley said she would help us,” Arlene said. “Oh, that’s cool,” said Kazari, though he didn’t sound the slightest bit interested. “So, what else is new?” “Oh, the usual,” said Kory, though something was different in his voice, he sounded annoyed. “What’s wrong?” Kazari asked. “You mean you really didn’t notice?” Kory replied in disbelief, “look at my hair.” Kazari thought the request strange, especially coming from Kory, but not wanting to anger him, he glanced at his hair. However, instead of the normal blonde color, his hair was a light pink. “What the heck did you do to your hair?” Kazari asked a bit too harshly. “We were doing an experiment in Science and I accidentally confused two of the ingredients. We were supposed to create a hair gel, but instead it just made my hair turn pink,” Kory said, obviously embarrassed. “That sucks,” Kazari replied, keeping his question as to why they were making hair gel in Science class to himself. “Not as much as they names they call me,” Kory said, “just because I like flowers and have pink hair they think they can call me names.” “Sorry,” said Kazari and after that they dropped the conversation. For the rest of the day they worked on the project. At the end of the day they all went to their favorite spot to watch the stars. If only life could be like that every day, Kazari thought. * * * “So it seems that Kazari is recovering from the nasty shock you gave him Braig,” said Xehanort. “As if. He may act it, and he may look it, but trust me, he is still feeling something on the inside,” Braig responded. “While that may be, I think it is time we get to the next stage of our plan. Kazari has proven a worthy test subject, as have his friends. If we are to succeed in our endeavors, then we must make haste. We must see to what limits the heart can be put,” Xehanort said. Just then Even walked into the room. It was obvious that he had expected to find them there, and did nothing to imply otherwise. “The machine is ready, all that is left is for the containment unit to be properly fitted. Have you selected a subject yet?” the scientist asked, not even caring about interrupting their conversation. “Indeed. I have to perfect subject in mind,” Xehanort said coldly, “Braig, prepare, you have a new mission.”

DragonMaster 1,166 Posted November 7, 2010 Ok, here is the next chapter. This pretty much is the start of the climax of the story, which I estimate to have two or three chapters (most likely, anyway), which will then be proceeded by another chapter or two to close up the story, then probably some character bios, just to clear up the story and give a better visualizations for the characters. Also, I realize that the majority of the story so far has taken place through dialog, which I hope to correct, giving more balance. Anyway, here is the tenth chapter, hope you enjoy. _____________________________________________________________ Chapter Ten: Oni Braig watched as each of the children said goodnight and went to their homes. How simple this mission was. It would be like taking candy from a baby; or perhaps, in this case, taking a sleeping spider from its web. He became alert once again and found that his target was making its way home. As quick and silent as a shadow, he trailed it. How could it possibly hope to escape if it was leading him right to its home? Of course, it had no idea what fate it would meet. If it did, it would be trembling in fear. Braig sighed as they approached the house. This mission was too important to be letting his mind wander. Xehanort had been specific, bring the girl or don’t come back. It was as if Xehanort actually considered that he, Braig, might fail. “Bah,” Braig thought out loud. He waited out there until he was sure that his target would be asleep in her bed. Quietly, he picked the lock on the front door. At least the girl was smart enough to lock the door. Once in the house it was easy to find her room, and there she lay, sound asleep, just like he thought. Quickly he leaned over her bed and gagged her. Good thing too, as right when the fabric touched her face she awoke. Her screams were muffled to mere moans, but even that would be enough to wake anyone else in the house, namely her parents. No longer bothering to be gentle, he threw her over his shoulders and kicked out the window. Let them all wake up, now that she was in his grasp, there was nothing that they could do. He ran as fast as he could to the castle. It would be useless to their plan should he be seen. His worries turned out to be wasted, as he made it into the castle with no trouble. He hurried to the lab where Xehanort and Even stood waiting for him. “I trust she gave you no trouble,” Xehanort said casually examining the person on Braig’s shoulders, as if she were some exotic creature. “What, you really think she could give me any trouble? As if,” Braig replied indignantly. “Where do you want her?” “Right here, if you please,” Even responded, whilst motioning to a weird table. “This is the special device you created just for this experiment. A feakin’ operation table? You could have bought one just as easy, or stolen one for that matter,” said Braig. “You imbecile, it is an insult to even think that this were a normal operation table. It is specifically designed to contain its occupant indefinitely, while also trying the occupants heart, pushing it to breaking point,” Even heatedly responded. “Yeah, sure, whatever,” Braig said, placing the girl on the table. “Welcome to your new home, I hope you like it, because it may very well be the last place you will see. Enjoy your stay, Oni.”
